On a recent visit to San Francisco, I wanted to start off the trip right with great coffee shortly after arrival. Thanks to a friend, Sightglass came highly recommended. We chose this large city location thanks to easy parking and a convenient stop on our drive. It was a beautiful morning, which was easy to enjoy thanks to the high ceilings, big glass windows, and open main door. The first floor has a central counter to order food and drinks; the glass cabinet has a bunch of rotating pastries from a local bakery. They have restrooms and a merchandise area here too. At the front are counter seats along the front window, and also a horseshoe that looks into the roasting area, which is a great place to smell the beans. There's an upstairs loft that overlooks the cafe below, also with a test kitchen area and offices across to the front. They definitely have a larger business going on, and I can see why it's so popular. We ordered a latte, iced coffee, and various pastries to start our day. Prices were reasonable for the quality. All the baristas were friendly and fast to help. read more

Visited this stellar coffee establishment in SF recently. This is a HUGE spot with lots of seating (on 2 floors) and a working coffee roaster.. I really enjoyed the vibe of the cafe.. Unfortunately they were out of bakery items (we were visiting in the afternoon on a Saturday), will have to come back to try those. For coffee, my friend and I ordered a cappuccino and a flat white. The service was fairly quick but not sure why they served us in to-go cups when we were having it in the cafe. But, the coffee was delicious. Caution - this location does not offer wifi or outlets for those like me planning to work inside! (At least, not the downstairs area for outlets). I came in looking to do some work and I definitely wish I had known there was no free wifi or charging areas before having purchased a coffee and sandwich. Bummer. I ordered a vanilla latte - 2 stars. I wasn't a fan of their coffee overall and the serving was not full. Very interesting. For food, I got their chicken pesto and that too wasn't my favorite - chicken was a little dry but their sourdough was good. It was a sunny day in SF and it was really warm inside. Very spacious location, offers downstairs seating (bar style) and upstairs was more large tables (pretty packed). Popped in here looking for a spot to break the monotony of my home office for a bit and get some work done. The space is genuinely great, open, bright, plenty of seating. Coffee was solid across the board. Grabbed an iced americano and it did what it needed to do. Staff were friendly too, happy to chat and talk me through their menu and answer any questions I had. Where Sightglass lost points for me: -Fire up that hot spot, because there's no wifi. -My husband's breakfast sandwich was cold in the middle. -Worst of all... paper straws. I know, dramatic, but I want to enjoy my coffee without the inevitable ticking time bomb of a straw progressively getting more and more soggy with every sip. read more

The location is nice, but the ambience inside felt off. I went on a Sunday morning and it was surprisingly dark and dim, even with people around. Coffee was fine, nothing memorable. What really needs work is the service; the woman who made my coffee was unnecessarily rude. Not a terrible experience overall, but I won't be back. read more

It definitely is a treat because it's so big (probably the size of my whole hqnd) but worth it! I also really like their miso brown sugar latte! Amazing coffee and pastries! I always make it a point to grab a bag of beans whenever I stop by. This location is almost always busy, but I've never had a problem finding a table. It's a great cafe if you're looking for a place to read, study, or get some work done. There are plenty of tables, including larger ones on the second floor, so it never feels too cramped. Really enjoyable in the cold Pistachio and blackberry croissant: not a big fan of sweet pastries usually, the pistachio paste in the middle was very delicious and there was a decent amount! The blackberry jam was more sweet, but it paired well. The croissant is "twice cooked" so it had a bit of a fried cake like layer on top which I don't usually like much bc of the crumbly texture and it makes it heavier. Overall did enjoy it throughout the day! Baristas were super kind! I wanted to adjust the sweetness of my latte and they were so patient and helped me get the perfect taste. They have a good amount of drinks to choose from but the srasonal drinks really stood out to me. They also have teas so there something for everyone. They have decent variety and you're bound to find one that calls out to you. For me, I went with almond financier bc the name suggests rich experience, and I was right! We got the orange matcha tonic and iced brown butter miso caramel latte with oat milk cold foam. Both were wonderful, one refreshing, one soothing. Drinks were ready fast. They also have free oat milk. My friend also got a sandwich, the Che Fico La Mortazza Sandwich. It was a decent overpriced sandwich. Personally, I wish it was a warm sandwich.
