I ate at Angee B'z a long time ago when I worked in Hartford, but I hadn't started using Yelp at that point so I never left a review. For my first time back since then I ordered a 9" roast beef and Swiss sub on French bread with just lettuce for the veggies. The bread, roast beef, and Swiss cheese were all great. The problem is the meat & cheese to bread ratio was way off in favor of the bread and I don't feel the price is justified based on the amount of meat and cheese you get in the sub. Yes, I only got lettuce for the veggies and there would have been more substance in the sub had I gotten more veggies, but I didn't order a veggie sub, I ordered roast beef and Swiss. I understand their prices are what they are because they're a small business that needs to compete with chain stores, but I'd rather get more for my money. read more

We had lunch catered at work today and everything was very tasty! The ingredients were fresh and they offered a wide range of items that anyone could enjoy. Veggie, gluten free and meat options. Our company ordered a variety of wraps, sandwiches, salads, pasta salads, soup and desserts. The carrot cake was amazing and well, so was everything else. Brownies, lemon bars, etc. I should have taken photos but trust me, they are a great option if you need an event catered or just want lunch for yourself. read more

Everything I have ever had has been worth it. Today we tried the Crispy Chicken Sandwich on a Pretzel roll, it was amazing. Tasted fresh and sweet. Then we had the Bang Bang Chicken Wrap. So spicy and delicious. Added a cup of the Roasted Red Pepper and smoked Gouda and let me tell you, it was delicious!! read more

This place hit the spot but could be heartier especially for the price. After a long morning hike, we were craving a hearty, cold sub/sandwich. We found this place on Google, it was near the trail we were hiking. We were surprised by the selection. Ample vegetarian choices too. Lots of folks were taking things to go/picking up carry out meals but the indoor dining space was open. The air-conditioning was nice! There were also a table or two located outside for patrons. Service was friendly and helpful especially as we had questions while navigating the huge chalkboard-style menu. We didn't have to wait long for or food to arrive. Overall, it hit the spot. The vegetarian wrap really could have been more hearty. There was one slice of pickle on each side of the wrap and it was the thinnest pickle slice I've ever seen. I'm only mentioning this because I still can't get over it, ha! Also, the prices were a bit high. I think we paid about $30 for lunch (for the both of us). I decided to check this place out while on lunch break since I saw it had good reviews! I drove over to Angee B'z on a Tuesday- they had tons of parking available. When I went inside I was overwhelmed by the amount of options they have! Every soup, salad or sandwich you can imagine. You can get flatbread sandwiches or paninis. In a big sandwich person (it's the simple things in life) so I was in paradise here! The employees were very kind and suggested a few items. I went with the Asiago Chicken Artichoke on wheat bread and it was so delicious and warm! Fresh ingredients! I also got a side of Mac n cheese which was good too. I would definitely come back though to try another sandwich since this one was good, and I want to know what the others taste like. I was in town looking for lunch and this popped up in yelp so I thought I would give it a try. It seems to be one of the places that isn't fast food or a chain that you can get a quick lunch from. The menu is quite substantial so I'm sure there is something to make everyone happy. The sandwich was made fairly fast, the young woman working the counter was very courteous and the price was pretty decent. Very comparable to the that other sub shop that Jimmy runs and better in my opinion. Stop in for a great lunch and support a local spot that is turning out quality food for under 10 bucks. Wow. I have driven past this place at least 50 times or more. My sister finally said let's go to Angie B's for lunch. I had the Asiago Chicken Artichoke Panini. I added avacodo and banana peppers. I also had the Hungarian mushroom soup. I was blown away how good it was. This little place puts out the flavors! Sizes of subs are mini, 6in, 9in, and a huge 18in. If your in the mood for a really really good wrap, salad, sub, or Panini this is the stop. My sister and I both said that it has been a while since we have had such a good lunch. read more

This has (had) always been one of my favorite sandwich places, LOVE the Italian bread. Like you can order what you want in addition add on to sandwich. My picture speaks volumes! A 6 inch cheese sandwich with 3 PAPER thin slices of cheese, a sliver of tomato and a half inner thin circle of red onion with no oil and vinegar. This place used to be great but I feel it's going downhill. The food is still quite good but they are skimping on ingredients while raising prices. The way I see it, if you price things higher you are accommodating for the increased cost of product so you can maintain quality. That doesn't seem to be the case here. The subs are all bread with the most minimal amount of toppings they can get away with. I've never seen such thinly sliced tomato's and I think I had 5 shreds of lettuce total on my sandwich. Then there is the Panini... warm at best with soggy bread. heated up in a fry pan at home to make it better. Also, I have a rewards card there but forgot to mention it and was told when I asked after checking out that it was too late to do anything about it. They COULD ask if you have one when you pay but the woman behind the counter seemed annoyed to begin with. The reason I am giving 3 stars is because the food is good but not great anymore. I think you can get better - if you want a sub- at a chain. The lack of any ingredients at Angie B's is a deal breaker for me. read more

Angee B'z is my favorite place to grab a sub. I don't mind chain subs, but AB'z is just better, plain and simple. They've really expanded the menu over the years, but the quality has stayed consistent. It's a neat little space, with a cool industrial vibe. They also have a soup "bar" with a number of soup options daily (I think 5-6?) with multiple purchasing options from individual to family-sized containers. I absolutely LOVE the food here. My husband and I consider it a treat when we are able to order. We usually get delivery (which is free) but sometimes eat in when we can. Let me preface this by stating that I work at a law firm in the same town as this independently owned and operated restaurant, so I've accumulated multiple experiences here. The last visit in will be my last. Several weeks ago I took my new co-employee out for lunch and was excited to show her my favorite little spot in town. Upon entering, I notice there is a line and several tables full. I believe it was the owners mother and another young lady that were up front taking orders. We waited in line, waited some more and then finally the older lady asked to take our order. We both ordered Panini's and 2 diet cokes. There were several open tables, we grabbed one and began another exhausting wait. While waiting, I looked up at the specials board- today's special: buy 1 panini get second 1/2 off. Huh. I paid full price and mind you, this place charges way too much in the first place. I paid $21.00 this day. So, I get back in line to ask why I wasn't made aware of this special and charged full price. Start another epic wait to get to the counter. The same lady that took my order asked if I needed anything while in line, I asked her about the special and she told me she would come out to my table. Our Panini's had STILL not come and our hour lunch was quickly disappearing. She comes over and places $3 and some change on the table offering me no explanation or apology. Whatever. Our food comes and we both just stare at each other in disbelief. Our hot "Panini's" are cold lifeless, disheveled disasters. Our bread is falling off the top, cold meat, no onion, and barely the work that I had come to love about this place. With 10 minutes left of our lunch we decide we have had enough, we enter the lunch line again to get a refund. Lunches in hand we finally are asked if there is a problem...ummm yeah and it visually speaks for itself. The older lady goes to get the owner and this is where Titanic sinks to the lowest depths. Angie irritatedly comes out and asks "Am I to assume that you don't want those?" I answer, "Correct assumption, can I please have a refund?". She then replies " We have been very busy and I am training a new person". No apology, no action of recourse. As if it is my fault and my problem. As if I should have known and ate my cold sad panini and been grateful because she, as a small local restaurant is busy and training. Isn't being busy a good thing? And further, why the hell are you snapping at me for your mistake. A simple I am sorry that this happened, why don't you let me personally re-make these for you two would have gone a long way. Throw in a cookie with a smile and we would have been fine. Instead, she says "Did you drink out of your sodas?" I respond yes. She refunds my card for only the sandwiches. Classy. With no time left for lunch we ran into Cousin's subs and for only $11 had phenomenal huge subs. Our firm gave Angie large amounts of business. I gave her business. What did Angie give me as a patron of her establishment? A clear road map to Cousin's subs. Mistakes happen, but bad manners and attitude should not. read more

I'm not a sub fan but if I'm gunna get a sub or sandwich it's at Angie beez! I love the turkey blt on a pretzel roll with maple mayo! But I think it has becoming inconsistent. I don't know if the hostess is making the subs because they aren't as good a when the owner is there. My first time there I was greeted by the black's flower shop owners daughter. She didn't seem friendly at all. I ordered a blt to go and when I opened the bag the sandwich already had fallen apart. And she poured at least 1/4 cup of mayo on it. Very disappointed. Couldn't eat it. After that I wen in a few times and got good subs . The owner needs to smile more though. She doesn't seem very happy. Anyways the last time I went there I order the enchilada soup to go. I asked the hostess for a spoon to go because I was planning on eating it on my way to work . She quickly gave me the soup and I left. While in the car I took a spoon full of the soup and it was pure cold!!! Imagine thick cold tomato base soup in your mouth . It was obviously in a cooler because it was still jello like consistency. Uhm could the hostess have heated that up? Guess not. Overall I think I need to sit down and eat to get food because gettin it to go I always get a bad experience.
