One of many fun games

Friday night Fish Fry's are always great (except no German Potato Salad) but we came for the Sat night Prime Rib! We came around 6:30 so didn't have to wait as long as usual. And then celebrated our SIL's 34th bday in the game area upstairs!

Looking for an all you can eat haddock fish fry for a nominal cost? Look no further. Mineshaft has an all you can eat fried haddock fish fry for only $7.99! I'm addition to the fish you get a piece of rye bread, cole slaw and a choice of French fries or tater tots. I opted for the tater tots. Since we had a reservation our party of 7 was seated right away and our server Connor was wonderful!! Connor was friendly and efficient. Always checking to be sure we had enough water or other drinks or anything else we needed. Good meal for a great price!

Dozens of flies. Even inside the glass. This was after I moved to neighboring table. No one ever took this glass away!

Real time review. This happened today. Sunday evening. 6:45 pm. Food took well more than an hour to be served and was delivered COLD. No mushrooms on the filet whatsoever despite that being noted on the menu. Steak was cooked properly but barely warm and at medium temp it should be hot. Potato was lukewarm so I ate it. Fish tacos were somewhat cold and beans and cheese had hardened already so it was clear it had been sitting a long long time. The cheese was able to be picked up off the beans in a lacy hard formation. Beans were dry and crusty on the edges like they appear after they sit out for 45-60 minutes. Sour cream on taco plate was watery because it clearly got put on the plate when the food was hot and had plenty of time to warm and thin out. Staff passed our table many times and never said anything about the wait time or let us know they were sorry that food was taking so long or would be up soon. They simply ignored us. By the time we got served, they had closed the restaurant for the night. Kitchen looked empty. Saw people in there with spray bottles cleaning. There was food all over on the floor under neighboring tables. Really unappealing and unappetizing. I let staff know the issues with the cold food and server said that she would speak to manager (who never bothered to come to our table) then came back and announced with a flourish that she took 50% off (!) the check as if that was huge and it was now magically fixed. No apology at all. I told her I was disappointed so she asked me what I would suggest. At that point I said to just forget it; I would just take the steak home and heat it up myself as it was really late and I had nothing to eat but a salad and a barely warm baked potato. Too annoyed and hungry to argue. Ordered a specialty Merlot and was given the house Merlot which I didn't know until I got the check. It was not good at all. The worst part was the infestation of fruit flies. (Note: In March it was also an issue so it's not just a summer thing; there's a problem that needs to be solved). Dozens of fruit flies. All over the place. Swarming when we walked in. Asked for napkins to cover the wine and killed about 15 flies myself with the napkins. Really gross. Nobody seemed to notice (or care?) that I was swatting them at the table. So right now we are en route to Jug's so I can finally get something to eat and a drink that I don't have to battle flies to drink. Set the empty wine glass on the neighboring table (before the food even came) and no one ever picked it up. Flies kept accumulating. Still there when we left. Flies both inside the glass and on the top of the napkin I covered it with. Gross. Really unacceptable. Avoid this place. No one seemed to care about the customers. Even after they knew of the issues. It's not worth it. It isn't right to treat customers like they don't matter. They're the lifeblood of your business and people ask me for restaurant recommendations daily. This will not be making the cut.

Love the kids 5 & under eat free deal! Here's the deal details
Alyssa F.

Very affordable place to take your family or a large party for a meal out. The food isn't the best - mostly greasy bar food - but the kids eat free deal (ages 5 and under, Sunday - Thursday & dine-in only) is awesome and keeps us coming back when we're eating out with several littles. You can also bring in your own birthday cake and candles if you're celebrating a birthday which is soooo nice and not something many places allow. The service is always nice and friendly too which makes for a pleasent, family-friendly atmosphere. Plus upstairs they have a whole floor filled with rad arcade games - some oldies but goodies like ski-ball and air hockey and some new age games too like a Walking Dead shoot 'em up game.

A far view of the buffet

Gorgeous place they have a specials almost every day of the week we went on Mexican buffet night all you can eat Mexican food. They also have a pizza night and some other nights that I don't recall. I've only been there once, but I will highly recommended especially for the Mexican cause that's what I was there for.

Never experienced a place quite as unique as the Mineshaft. Huge bar and restaurant, game room upstairs, also a stage in the back? Anyways, having a place to go with a large group basically outside of our hotel. Food: outrageous. Beer selection: incredible. Game room: quite fun! Our server for our group of 5 was very on top of it and kept our drinks filled and our food came out quite quickly. The award winning mozzarella sticks are basically cheese eggrolls, and I am not complaining a single bit. Excellent appetizer! The poutine was also quite delicious with really crisp fries, delicious gravy and lots of curds. While trying to go for lighter fair, I had a chicken salad, and that breaded chicken was excellent. Tons of chicken and bacon, lots of veggies as well but of course delicious shredded cheese as well. Really glad we came here and that the spotted cows kept flowing!

Cheeseburger and fries

What a cool place, in theory. The building is so much bigger than you think when you see it from the outside. We had reservations here for six of us on a Saturday night and while I did not make the reservation, I was told that they said it might be difficult to accommodate that. We were able to get reservations and they seated us right away after we were all there. It seemed like the first floor was the restaurant and the second floor was the arcade. Unfortunately due to a holiday work party that we were attending afterwards, we could not enjoy the arcade but some of our group had been there before and talked about it fondly. As for the food, the menu was pretty standard "American" food. I ended up getting spaghetti and marinara which came with a soup or salad and a side of garlic bread. Unfortunately they did not have any meatless soups and I didn't want a salad, so my husband enjoyed the andouille sausage soup for me and said it was fine. The spaghetti and marinara was similarly okay - it was tasty, but nothing special. The garlic bread I did actually like quite a bit though. My husband got a cheeseburger and fries, which he liked. My husband got a salted caramel old fashioned which I will say was delicious. I'm not an old fashioned girl and I could've easily drank several of those happily! I got a sugar cookie cocktail which was good too, but was watered down very quickly. Overall, I think I could see myself coming here mostly for the drinks and to try the arcade next time because the food was fairly average. The service was decent, though we were waiting about an hour for our meals after ordering which was longer than we anticipated.

My…read morefriends and I were looking for something to do during the last dreary months of winter and whoolah! Found something online saying they were having a Mardi Gras themed party with Static Chicken playing. Okay, sounds legit. The social media posts said the band played from 7-10 so we decided to get there at 6. Never being there prior, I was a little surprised to pull in and see like 5 cars. I thought well, it's not really a destination bar and maybe more peeps will show up for the band. They did, tho not too many, and they brought their kids too lol. So it's a family friendly spot if you want to see a band there in the future. They have some tables, old school Nintendo boxes, funny decor. It was low key for sure which I do like, but also kinda too loud to hear your friends and family once the band took over the small area. They don't serve food but there's a food truck outside which was operating. Three of us got the $10 Fancy Grilled Cheese which was pretty good and a lot of food. It came with plenty of fries that are sadly way too salty. I'd order it again but next time ask for less salt if possible. They were out of the veggie burger option which shows as Impossible online, bummer. Another friend tried their blackened mahi mahi with dirty rice and liked it but thought the portion was small for the $14 price. I wouldn't say it was a Mardi Gras party because they didn't offer us beads and the decor was minimal for the event but that's okay. The servers were nice and quick but seemed unexperienced but I can't put my finger on how or why. The sign outside said the band played from 8-11 so that was annoying because we would have arrived later. We stayed until about 9 and left for another bar. Another fun thing that is not their fault, we were outside about to go to the food truck when a man ran up and asked us for money and a smoke because he was just released from jail and needed bus fare. I guess the Greenfield police station is across the street and he was released without a way home. I'm sure they don't like that for business but my friend eventually gave a him a few bucks and he left. I'd try this place out again for some golfing and maybe if another band I liked played but it's not near my house so not a place I'd be often.

I went tonight with a friend, and we had an absolute blast! The vibes inside give 80s nostalgia means a seaside shack, and I'm IN LOVE with it. For two of us to play mini golf, it was $22, which is reasonable for the area & 18 holes. The course is not the most accessible with some rocks and steps along the paths, but it's a fun course to play regardless! There were misting stations across the playing path, which is nice for the summertime. As we were getting ready to leave, we saw a flyer mentioning music bingo on Thursdays at 7pm. We stuck around for the few minutes until 7, and I'm so glad we did. It was so fun. For $1, you get three rounds or more of bingo, depending on length of game play. Our rounds tonight were 80s hits, songs from movies, and bar classics. The emcee was amazing and friendly. I got a Carbliss from the bar, and my friend got a non-alcoholic frozen drink called the Mangonada. We were both cackling at the headers in the menu. Calling wine "Mom Juice" is extremely hilarious and adds so much character to this place. The bartender was kind and knowledgable too. If you want to test your luck, you can pay to spin the wheel of shots. Forewarning: malort has its own spot on the wheel. There's also arcade games and batting cages here. I will wholeheartedly be coming back to this place. This might be my new go-to bar!

We also added some large games to our space as well. We then made it upstairs for our dinner program and the buffet was amazing! Delicious and tenor serving they have a very nice event space upstairs. The staff were very nice. Two notes would just be that they had our program run on a court back to back with another group so it was ackward since we needed all those large games set up, had preset beverages and appetizers. Plus a full check in table. The other court was empty so I'm not certain why we weren't just in the other space. Then they also only had the front bar open in the first hour versus the one right at the courts and bowling where we were and other guests enjoying their time. In the case of our group it also left us separated into two since as they waited for drinks then they just became comfortable in the front bar talking. They did open the upstairs bar once we moved up there. I would book an event here again I would just make sure to clearly note some of those details and/or even book the court an extra hour to ensure no crossover even though I was able to set up 15 minutes before our event start. Everyone had a really fun time and for many it was their first time experiencing it.

Some of the games weren't working properly as well. I swiped my card for the basketball game only to realize all of the basketballs were stuck in the net. I am sure i could have asked staff for help but, i just decided to move on. The Mario kart i decided to play also had a broken wheel but didn't impact game play too much. So i also ignored that. Not all claw machines had prizes being restocked but i still got a good amount of goodies to take home from that area of the games!! I will say i was also disappointed to see that the only two ski ball machines were cramped next to each other against the bowling area wall. But still playable!
