Simple, classic, no-frills doughnut shop and it's delicious. Picked up a few to share with my family. We tried a maple bar, a buttermilk bar, an old-fashioned glaze, and a cake doughnut with pink frosting and sprinkles. They are were all wonderful with a perfect flavor and texture you expect. The maple bar in particular was light and fluffy, but amazing maple flavor. This doughnut shop rocks. We'll be back. read more

I wasn't really a fan. It was 10 am and there weren't any croissants which is what my wife usually gets plain but I looked forward to one of the croissant sandwiches. I ended up getting a bagel bacon egg and cheese. It was good. The coffee was good. There weren't very many doughnuts to choose from, just your basic variety I guess. read more

Angel Food Donuts has become a staple of Bakersfield. They specialize in classic donuts with enough variety for everyone to find their favorite. The Old Fashion Donut with Maple Frosting is my favorite, but you can never go wrong with their Round Glazed Donuts. I usually snag a Dozen Donuts as a "bonus snack" as well. I just stopped in for a quick lunch break around 5:30 PM. The store was dead. I just ordered a bagel and a doughnut and I witnessed the girl in the back sneeze in my bag of donuts. I highly do not recommend the shop. I will never return. I just threw my food away and walked out. It wasn't even worth arguing about it so disgusting that someone could do that read more

I just tried Angel Donuts for the very first time this morning after eyeing it for months on my commute to and from work. Today, I happened to be really craving donuts on my way home and decided to stop since there was no one there. I am super impressed, so much so that I decided i could not wait to write my review until later today when i wake up! Service was quick and efficient. I noticed they have a plastic sneeze guard, not sure if they put it up since the pandemic or not, but I thought it was a good idea! They had hand sanitizer out and used gloves. My donuts were a great, fair price. They offer half dozen pricing, which is nice. The variety was not quite as big as some of the other shops in town, but they still have all the favorites and plenty to pick from! The donuts taste amazing. Please never go here to try and get your one free dozen donuts. They will try to tell you that your card is a DRINK punch when we have NEVER gotten drinks there. Then when I called to try to explain to the owner she kept telling me I misunderstood. I have spent a lot of money here we live around the corner and get donuts weekly. This was to me very bad customer service and we will not be returning ever again. Cheap and rude is how I would describe this place and their management. read more

Do not recommend this place. The owner was very rude. Normally she's very nice and friendly but I was practically held hostage while she belittled an employee in front of me. Oh my, I just took my first bite into my first angel donut. Appropriately named because it's as if I was in heaven for a moment I got the chocolate covered buttermilk bar and it definitely stands out. Angel Donuts opened their third location. It is located near the intersection of Buena Vista Rd. and White Lane. Shop looked clean, cozy, and welcoming. There are a few tables to dine at. Colorful decor, and the cases were full of donuts and other treats this afternoon. Went out of my comfort zone when it comes to visiting a donut shop for the first time. Tried a Maple French Crueller. It was not one of the better ones that I have eaten. Tasted kind of stale. The apple filled bear claw (I think that is what is called) was yummy!! Would not hesitate to purchase this goodie again. If I lived in the neighborhood, then I would be a regular here. Really pleasantly surprised with Angel Donuts two new locations. Good job! read more

As a bear living in Southern California, I hate the heat. It wears me out, and leaves me hungry. Especially when I wake up. Mama Bear, however, was much hungrier than me today. So in fear for my hide, I left the house this morning with my two cubs, intent on getting some donuts. As always, I made sure my destination was Angel Food Donuts on Buena Vista. I come here almost every weekend, usually late morning to early afternoon. I love these donuts. Even though I come late, they're still always fresh, and delicious. Bears are surprisingly picky about these things. I know people think, "oh yeah, you eat raw fish, how picky can a bear be?" In the case of my morning grub, very. It's too hot for berry picking. It's too hot to do anything except eat these delicious donuts. Everything is good. I've never had a bad donut, or bad service. I come here because it's always good. Period. I'm a Bear. If it wasn't good, I would have just eaten the servers, and never returned. One of my cubs wanted to chime in. Her thoughts are below: Ok. My dad the bear always wants to come and I agree with him. This morning he asked me what I wanted... I said.....ANGELS DONUTS!!!!!! He said ok and we went with sister cub. Again we have NEVER had a bad donut. The donuts were baked to perfection as always. In an effort to provide full disclosure I have to admit that I eat donuts way too much...my wife thinks I have a problem. I just can't resist a maple bar and a dozen donut holes on my way to work. Maybe I'll regret this lifestyle choice when my eating catches up to me but until then yolo. I went here on a Monday at 8:30am; it was empty and I said hi asked if they were staying busy. They said Monday's were always slow but a lot of the high schoolers come on Wednesday. Regardless... I ordered my usual but when I looked at the maple bar it looked like it wasn't super fresh. I got in the car, began to eat and was super disappointed. They weren't fresh at all. Trust me when I say that day old frosting and glaze never lie. Any donut enthusiast knows what I'm talking about. If you don't know... then bless you because you care for your body enough to not understand my plight. I'm not saying bypass this establishment but don't be afraid to question the donuts you're eating. Multiplying locations is difficult and their Panama location is very busy. They'd probably rather serve old donuts then take a financial loss. But they lost a customer because I won't go back. P.S. if you don't have cash...who even does...you have to spend a certain amount of money to use a card...bogus read more

This location has been open for a couple months and after a few visits I will say I have come to really like this shop. I am a sucker for the glazed cronut and get one almost every time I go. I love there unique selections with interesting fillings or toppings like bacon or cereal. My son is fairly boring and usually gets a glazed or sugared donut but my daughter loves the cake donut with orange icing that is really good. The most convenient part of this yummy shop for our family is location with it being minutes from our house. We will be back again and again to get delicious treats and great service. read more

I am in town to visit my family for Christmas. We wanted donuts for my niece and nephews a few days ago and no one was disappointed with our dozen donuts from Angel food Donuts. Delicious and fresh. The woman behind the counter was so sweet and personable. I leave tomorrow so went back today for another dozen. So my dad purchased a dozen doughnuts from here for a gathering one morning and the chocolate bar was amazing but the curlers tasted stale. And that set the pattern. For each doughnut someone had me try one would taste nice and fresh and the next would taste stale. If I'm gonna flip a coin with each doughnut I'd rather go somewhere else. He them proceeded to complain to them about another employee who "decided to get knocked up right when things were getting busy," and said some other things about maternity leave. The most apalling thing was he then asked the barista "if you're pregnant and found out your son was gonna be retarded, would you do the un-Catholic thing?" She tried to brush him off by saying "it would be too late," to which he made a joke about using a "coat hanger." Truly the most apalling thing I've ever witnessed at any establishment. I never leave reviews at all, but I had to report this because it seems like this guy involved with management is bullying and harassing the employees. And this non-profit works with foster youth?! Been coming here for years now and the Adeni Tea is hands down my favorite drink in town. I was…read morealready a milk tea kinda girlie in the boba universe, but this was the first beverage of theirs that I tried and it scratched a certain itch I'd been unconsciously craving. Something old-world maybe? Like a flavor that's existed for centuries and been passed down through time and so so many generations... and it's now landed in our corner of the world that's just a few blocks away? Globalization and the world within, for f' sakes! This place is truly brilliant. More recently, I'm only in town a few days out of the week, but I make a point to visit this location or their other location, Mokhamena on Panama, each day I'm here to, at a minimum, pick up two for myself--the first one is to function and the second is to savor. There was a time I'd pick up the party-size for my coworkers when I liked them... but alas, times have changed so more for me. The staff there are always friendly and awesome, and on days that I'm lucky enough, I get to actually enjoy the cafe. So grateful you guys are here and sharing flavors from across the world.

My order was taken quickly. I ordered an iced americano with a ham and cheese turnover. Coffee was on point. No notes. No complaints. The pastry however was not good. They asked me if I wanted it heated up. I said I did. I saw her put it in the microwave, and I assumed they turned it on. When I bit into it (I had already left and walked across the street) it was cold. Like cold cold. On top of that it was flavorless which made it worse. Stick to the coffee or make sure you check the temp of the food prior to leaving.

I also like that they offer more than just donuts -- they have blended coffees, smoothies, slushies (or icees), and hot sandwiches too. There's definitely more we want to come back and try. One last thing -- they have an A grade, which always gives me peace of mind when trying a new place. Overall, it was a quick and pleasant visit, and we're looking forward to stopping by again soon!
