Maybe change the name from Angel to Crook Nails & Spa? I'm a guitarist who gets three nails acrylicked. My regular nail place is closed for awhile, so I tried this one. My first two visits here were pleasant and unremarkable. Two friendly middle-aged women, one of whom is the owner, took care of me. Both those times they charged $15 for the work -- a little higher than the $12 I was used to paying at my regular place, but I was fine with that price. On my third visit, however, I was greeted by a young woman nail tech I hadn't met before. Soon after starting the work, she informed me that I would need new acrylics, not just fills, because these were very old. I told her no, I had just gotten all three replaced two weeks ago, here at this salon. She asked the owner about that, in Vietnamese (which I do not understand), and then resumed the work, just doing fills. When she finished I asked what I owed her and she said $25! I smiled, sure this was a mistake. I told her it was only $15 two weeks ago. She talked a bit with the owner, in Vietnamese, then came back to me in a stern and uncompromising voice, in English. She said the other tech quit because she had to take my job for $15! I told her OK I'll pay you, but I'm never coming back here again. This was with the owner standing by -- I guess I expected one of them to offer a compromise or something. When they didn't, I paid the $25 and left. I feel ripped off. If she had wanted to increase the price to, say, $18, I might have understood. But from $15 to $25?! I also think they should have told me beforehand that the price had increased drastically, since I was a returning customer and even called ahead to make an appointment. I feel a little dumb that I went along with the absurd increase -- maybe I should have argued more, or insisted on paying less. I guess even though it was a huge increase, it's still only $7 (I would have given her a $3 tip on the $15) so not really worth a fight. Thank God I didn't let her replace the nails as she wanted to -- what would she have charged for that? I'm sad I have to find a new nail place. If you go to so-called Angel, make sure to ask about the price beforehand. read more

I came in with a friend with an existing appointment. I received the worst manicure and pedicure. My pedicure was rushed and my friend got her pedicure and then waited 30 min for her manicure because the newer customers were tended to. I asked for a regular manicure. My nails were left misshapen and asymmetrical. It was the laziest manicure I received. I had a large visible new bruise on my leg. I got the basic $40 pedicure. They charged me $25 dollars EXTRA for "cat eye." I attached a picture of it...they don't know how to do it obviously. When I was shocked that they would charge $25 for bullshit nail polish, they acted like that is typical. They did not trim my nails at all. The lady just hacked them up. Total rip off. Picked out a $65 pedicure (hot stone massage, deep tissue foot massage, exfoliation, oil, foot wax, etc.). The only service received was getting my toes painted and wax on the feet. She then left me sitting there with my legs wrapped in towels to go spend 20 minutes on another client to start a set of nails on someone else. My legs got cold and I'm frustrated at this point, so I take the cold towels off and told them I was done. They ran my card for $70 after trying to first run it for $85, even though all I got was a paint job and my feet in hot wax. read more

I really wanted to like this place and they're very nice people but I would not recommend the services. 1) Pedicure: my pedicure was really sloppy and looks really messy and just overall not good at all. I was also quoted one price over the phone and then was charged a different price in person which is never fun. I'm super disappointed in this. 2) Waxing: probably worst wax I've ever gotten. Left large areas full of hair, it's patchy, and just looks bad. I'm headed for a trip tomorrow so now I'm going to have to either shave, or try to get in tomorrow with my regular wax place to get it re-done. 4) Dip manicure: worst manicure of my life. Also uneven, sloppy, badly done. And I personally just dislike profoundly when people try to blame you for mistakes they make (e.g. my nails weren't uneven until you cut them too short and unevenly.) I went to get pedicures with my friend, we called in advance and made an appointment for two. I got there first and she started doing my pedicure, once my friend arrived she sat down next to me and waited for hers to start. We soon realized no one else was coming and she was planning on just doing hers after mine. Call me crazy but when you schedule pedicures together you would assume they would happen at the same time. The nail tech then proceeded to PRETEND to take a phone call (we could clearly see her phone screen and there was no active call) and told us her friend couldn't make it to help with the other pedicure. This used to be my go to salon but after this last visit I will not be returning. While my services were coming to an end Lynn mentioned that they got a fine from a "surprise drop in" the shop wasn't clean enough, immediate red flags....The following day one of my fingers was swollen and hot to the touch, thinking I got cut or something I brushed it off until it got worse, I googled online and found out it was Acute Paronychias... I soaked my finger as advised and had pus come out, Then a few days later another finger... same thing, I have been getting my nails done for over 20 years and I have never gotten infections, I am appalled but doubt I'm going to be the only one. Steer clear from this dirty establishment Not to mention my thumbnail (acrylic)came off completely after a week I went to another place for a fill and repair and the lady told me that all the nails are lifted and that water has been getting under them, which could create fungus So if you want infections and fungus this is your place read more

Really disappointed in my experience here. I made an appointment for tips and dip powder. First red flag was when I sat down, the station I was at was filled with half empty water bottles that were not cleared away until a few minutes after I sat down. Secondly, the woman working on my nails made absolutely zero attempt to connect with me as a customer. When I tried to talk to her and share my excitement about getting my nails done (it's been a very long time since I treated myself), she completely ignored me and kept talking with her coworkers the entirety of my service. She also kept making phone calls and face time calls and splitting her attention between what she was working on with my nails and whatever personal matter she was trying to take care of. As a result, my nails ended up not coming out the best. There are visible smudges and streaks, the nails themselves are fairly bulky, and I have a pretty painful cut on my pinkie from her drill. I'm so bummed because it's right down the street from my house and the reviews are so great! Maybe my visit was a fluke but I'm not planning on returning to find out if that is the case. read more

Should be zero stars. My friend and I called and made an appointment for 2 pedicures, we called at 10 am and the appointment was for 2:15, so plenty of time for them to prepare. My friend arrived before me, and was taken to the pedicure chair and her service was started. When I arrived a few minutes later, there was still only one person working, on a Saturday afternoon. I sat in a chair for a few minutes, and no one else seemed to be coming. After a while I asked if there was someone else coming to do my nails, as we had made the appointment together. She said her friend was on her way to help out. No one ever showed up. By the time my friend's pedicure was almost finished, she picked up her phone and pretended to call someone, we could see her phone screen and there was no outgoing call. At this point, I told her we did not have time for 2 completely separate services, and that she did not need to do my pedicure. She just said "Ok" no apology. She told my friend she would give 10% off for the inconvenience. When we went to pay for my friend's pedicure she said the total was $60, not the $50 we were initially told, and she did not apply a 10% discount. We tried to explain to her our issues, but she did nothing to explain or make the situation better. read more
