I had not been here in forever and forgot what a delight this place truly is! So I was seeing a double feature across the street at Hollywood Theater and had a few hours in between films. I needed a pedicure bad so there we go! Ok, so the rapey chairs are a bit weird to get used to BUT they really rock at going after the knots in your back - just prepare for how intense they are. I had one sweet older lady give me my pedicure and she was amazing - really taking her time with me etc. You get a drink with your pedicure which includes either champagne or wine etc. I usually just grab water but knowing I can get a soda or wine is rather lovely. Also, you have a long list of pedicure options which start at $25 for a basic which is a great price because even the basic is longer than I have had at other places seriously. I got the classic which is $30 and she REALLY massaged me and did the sugar scrub. She also really scrubbed my feet and trimmed everything. I also decided to get a French manicure for my natural nails. A younger girl did that for me and was also amazing really taking her time. She also talked me into shellac which I normally never would do because my nails grow so fast but doing the French made a lot of sense since it should last quite a time, provide a lot of extra strength for my already very strong natural nails and it looks stunning! She took her time to make sure they were perfect and even asked for my feedback throughout. It was simply one of the best pedicures and manicures I have ever had! Its also great to watch how mindful they are as far as cleaning goes - the place itself is very clean and you do not smell tragic chemicals in the air and such. Not the friendliest or most fun nail place around (despite its name) but they do excellent work. I've been to other nail salons that are like clubs -- the customers and nail techs joke, gossip and have fun together while they're waiting or getting worked on. Euphoria is not like that. Some people chat with the friend they came with, but it's a generally quiet atmosphere. Perhaps the "euphoria" they are referring to is more like "tranquility" -- they have multiple relaxing features including a tropical fish tank, free massage chairs, and meditative music. (They'll also pour you a champagne if you're a big-ticket customer.) So if you want to unwind and relax while getting your nails done, this might be a good atmosphere. But of course the main thing is how do they do with nails? Terrific. The owner, Lee (who also sets the standard for quietness, he's a man of few words) is an excellent nail tech himself, and is always around to guide the others if they run into a snag. He probably trains them too. Anyway, they're all good at nails, and the work lasts. read more

If I could give zero I would. The WORST nail salon and manicure pedicure of my life. Do yourself a favor and pick any other place to get your nails done. Clipped nails and cuticles way too short until painful, Scalding hot wax, used old polish that is still not dry 3 hours later. That's just me. My sisters experience was far worse. They have no idea how to do dips even though they say they do them. They have one buffer machine for the entire place. They had her soak her hands in a ziplock of acetone and took a lunch break in the back. She removed them when they started to burn. Her fingers are raw and bleeding and had bits of dip powder all over her hands. They also stopped our pedicures to clean the other pedicure baths and did not put on clean gloves before coming back to our feet . Now I'm out 150 and going to get them redone elsewhere. It is difficult to completely accurately review a nail salon or space like this because it depends on the person giving the service and could be one or 5 stars, right? Well. My experience there has always been 4-5 stars until the other day when it was less than one star. I almost walked out. I should have walked out. This lady was SO ROUGH and HURT me I am now bruised and nicked it was the most bizarre experience I've ever had getting my nails done. I'm a pretty patient person and I don't sit there and micromanage the process, but I asked her nicely three times within the first 10 minutes - "please be gentle" "oh you have strong hands, please not so rough. Then flat out "That hurt!" as I pulled my foot away. I almost got up to leave, but she was more gentle and I didn't have time to go anywhere else at that point so I stayed. She was also very distracted always looking around and got my nail polish EVERYWHERE. I thought I was on a candid camera episode. Then the massage. I did the same thing again! I have bruises two days later! I am going to call there today and try and speak with the owner it was that bad. The manicure was more of the same. Sloppy and rough and it HURT. I'm not into BDSM with my mani/pedi. Just not. I will probably won't go back which makes me sad because I love the location and many of the other people there, but if I see that lady, I'm running for the hills. I've been in here quite a few times, most of my experiences were fine (not stellar) so I've never felt the need to write a review before. So- the second to last time I was in, I got a pedicure for myself and a mani pedi for my teenager. I decided last min that I did want a manicure but opted to get the dip nails instead of regular polish because my friends rave about how strong they make your nails. When my manicure started, she just started doing the dip on my nails. I didn't get my nails cleaned or soaked or my cuticles pushed back or ANYTHING they offer with the regular manicure. I was surprised, especially since I found out after she was done that the dip mani costs $38! Also I asked her to do an almond shape on my nails and only a few of them were done correctly. Anyway, she told me that next time I come in I could just a fill and it would be cheaper than doing my whole set of nails again. So last week, I go in and get another pedi and ask for a fill. A very inexperienced girl did my toes. I mean she could barely cut my nails. I sat in the chair and BARELY put my feet in the water and she pretty much immediately took them out. I didn't even get time to soak in the hot water. Anyway, after the pedi (which tbh wasn't great but whatever) I get moved to the far station to get my fill. The guy who works there sits down and looks at my nails and says he can't fill them. When I asked why he just said "I have to start all over" and just starts sanding away with their nail Dremel I had to stop him and when I asked him how much that cost he told me $38! I was like no no wait a second. I didn't go in expecting to pay for another FULL SET of dips on my own nails when I was told I would just have to pay for a fill. He tells me okay I'll charge you $30 after he already started sanding off my polish. So my choice at the point was leave with three nails already sanded off or just pay for the stupid new set at his "discounted" price. I just figured fine I'll finish this mani and never come in again. So AGAIN- no actual manicure. He didn't soak my fingers or push back my cuticles- nothing. After it was all done I handed him my card to pay and he points at the atm. I asked if they don't take cards anymore and he says yes but pointed again at the atm. I said I wanted to just pay with my card and he says "atm is better. Pay with cash" I AGAIN said I didn't want to use the atm and he just pointed at it again. OMG fine. At this point I just wanted to leave I was so annoyed with my whole interaction with him. In retrospect I think it was probably because he knew he did a crap job and if I didn't use their credit card terminal I couldn't dispute the transaction with my bank. So I get in my car and take a better look at my nails. He did fix the shape of my nails on one hand. They look perfect. The other hand is a hot mess. They're all different lengths and the dip is bumpy and uneven. The top coat is non-existent on three of the five nails. They're rough and just bad. They were pretty much out of the color I had chose and I think he was trying to use up what was left instead of having me pick another color. A week later now and they're not as vibrant and colorful as the last time I had them done and honestly I'm surprised my nails haven't broken yet... which defeats the purpose of why I chose to have dip in the first place. The top coat has completely worn off most of the three nails that were a problem from the jump. I'm very disappointed with my nails and service. I have been to this place at least 10-15 times and I often bring friends or my daughter with me, but no more. It's ridiculous that they charged me ANYTHING for this hack job on my right hand, especially after I was told I would just be charged for a fill. read more

This is a giant HELL NO for me. I bought the Groupon so I could use it after work, but they were booked waaaaay in advance. I went here without an appointment and got a deluxe "Euphoria" pedi and paid full price. I am getting a refund from Groupon. The guy at the front was annoying. He put a damper on any possible relaxation. I had just left work and in an effort to de-stress and avoid traffic, I opted for the longest pedi possible. I'll sum it up by saying that: -Their polish selection sucks. -I like my nails short, I asked for them short twice, they were not short. -They have an ATM inside the business but don't take cards (also, it's fucking slow and once it dispenses your money it displays ALL of your information on the screen by default - including your bank account balance). -I walked in and a girl across from my chair was enjoying her pedi and in the massage portion of it. The 2 girls working on me (yes, two - they kept getting up, leaving, switching places, etc.) were done with me before her massage portion was done. -I had no idea my pedi was finished until she pulled my sweater leggings back down while my legs were still soaking wet. -The majority of my time was spent sitting in the chair, being ignored, big toe nails hurting (they were cut poorly), wondering if they were going to come back to finish. Instead of asking me if I needed help or anything, they let me sit there, wax all over my feet and all over the towel, not moving me to any area with lights or fans or drying spray to get my toe polish dry, then they basically ask me to pay and leave. Every single pedicure I've had followed with them making every effort to ensure my nails were dry/protected before I left. Instead, Euphoria gave me a kick in the ass, and took $40 from me. The second I stepped out the door I knew my nail polish would be ruined. Sure enough, I got to my car and they were toast. Very unhappy with the cost and what I feel to be false advertising!! Have been going to Euphoria for years, even when they were on Hawthorne. Saw online a 50% off special for the Deluxe & Signature pedicures. Online it says 9/2/16 to 11/30/16, when I called to make the appointments was told the special was for next week! Went in today for an express mani/pedi for myself and my daughter. In the past have always paid roughly $25 for my 7 year old, this morning I was charged $40! I was also given Classic Mani/Pedi and told they don't do the express even though it's advertised. Also paid $15 extra for the Shellac when the display states $10 I have always been a generous tipper, but to not get what I asked for and be up charged without warning is unacceptable. I've recently moved to NE Portland and wanted to find a nail salon in my new neighborhood. I have fallen in love with SNS dipping powder manicures and decided to give Euphoria a try. I can say I will not go back for manicures again. 1. I told them I had SNS polish on, they proceeded to trim my nails with the polish on and split 2 nails and chipped another . 2. Instead of soaking the nail polish off, they tried to pry it off and hurt me repeatedly, in addition to ruining my nail beds. 3. They didn't seal the new SNS color, they used Shellac topcoat to seal!! 4. Since it wasn't sealed properly, the top coat peeled within 3 days of my manicure and nails chipped. My previous SNS manicure, from another salon, lasted 4 weeks!! I've had my SNS dipping powder manicure done multiple times and never experienced anything like this. I won't be coming back here for an SNS manicure. read more

I've been going to Euphoria for a couple years now, and I love it. I go to Lina. Yes, she left, but she is back there now (I saw her yesterday). Lina is great; she has excellent attention to detail, and her gel nails last forever. My nails have never looked as good as when she has done them. She also gives an excellent pedicure. I have some friends who go to Lee. I have sent many people to Euphoria. I've always found them to be exceptionally clean, they have a TON of gel colors, and the ambiance is better than many nail salons. I won't go anywhere else. I wish it wasn't so busy with Groupons. Here are some pieces of advice when dealing with Euphoria: 1. make an appointment. I've seen many people walk in and get turned away or have to wait. They are not a huge salon, so this seems normal to me. I recommend going on a weekday, when they are not as busy, if you can. Even if you call the same day, just make an appointment. 2. Bring cash 3. Don't go there if you are racist. These are nail technicians, not people to be talked down to. read more

LADIES WARNING: DO NOT GET YOUR NAILS DONE HERE! (Mediocre nails, terrible customer service from the owner himself) I went in for an acrylic set for $35. One person started on my hands who was clearly inexperienced, so another guy took over for her. When that happened, no one asked me if it was ok or told me why.. and I should've spoken up then, but I tried to be positive and gave him the benefit of the doubt. My nails were now way shorter than the original length agreed upon, due to him having to reshape the mistakes the previous girl had made. I didn't feel right speaking up then, but knew immediately that I was not satisfied. The acrylic was bumpy and not evenly applied, and the nail color was streaky and frankly looked quite terrible. I would barely call these mediocre in quality. I will admit I should not have left the salon being dissatisfied, however I did not feel comfortable speaking up at the time. After an evening of contemplating the quality of the service I had received, and after showing a few people and asking their opinion.. consensus was that I am not crazy and my nails were indeed VERY BAD. ** This is where it got interesting and why I was prompted to write this review: I returned to the salon the following day less than 24 hours after, pleasantly seeking a refund and asking them if they could please remove my nails (One of my nails had already even chipped LOL). There were 4 women working and one came out of the back to translate what I was asking. Each of them shrugged and said they were not the manager.. and they weren't sure what to do. After 5 uncomfortable minutes of confusion one of the women called the "boss" and it turned out to be the man who finished my nails yesterday. I was quite surprised when they handed the phone to me to speak to him directly .. I calmly explained that I was not happy with the quality of the service I paid for, and I would like the nails removed, and to be refunded the cost of service minus the tip I left. His response was and I quote: "I remember you, I cannot give you a refund without seeing your nails, I have been doing nails for 17 years and I do perfect nails, I don't believe they are that bad, someone will remove them and I will do your nails tomorrow". I politely let him know that my workweek starts tomorrow and I cannot wait, and that I am going to a different business to get a new set. I told him I did not have a good experience in this salon and I do not want him to put a new set on. He refused to refund me- I had to beg them to remove my terrible nails.. the tech took too much off of one hand in the process and caused my nail bed to bleed. I will NEVER return here and I will make a special effort to tell every single friend or acquaintance of mine to never step foot into this business for nail services. read more

You could say I'm a regular at Euphoria. I come at least once a month. The staff is friendly but not over talkative which is appreciated. The decor is nice + inviting. It is also clean + sanitary which is a must! My favorite part is when two technicians work together so it cuts my time in half so while I'm getting my pedicure someone starts on my manicure. This is exactly what a Nail Spa SHOULD be like but never is. I don't know how or why this place doesn't have more/better reviews but I imagine that would take away from the excellence of this oasis that I visit every 2-3 weeks. I like that's my hidden gem. Muah ha-ha! Let me give you 5 solid reasons why this place is better than any other place I have ever been to in my life. *Disclaimer: I've been getting mani/pedi combo's for over 10 years now in 3 different states (WA, OR & CA). Nothing compares. 1.) This place can call itself a 'spa' because it includes all of the elements that a spa should. Cleanliness. Calming Music. Complimentary Beverages (Tea, Mimosa, Wine etc.). Inviting and tasteful décor. Warm, lavender neck pillows. Quality Massage chairs. Wide variety for color selection. Relaxing Environment. 2.) Quality. I've been getting a shellac manicure and regular pedicure combination for the last 6 years. Unfortunately, the ends of my shellac polish usually start to turn up or get stuck on things (my hair, clothes etc.) after about 1.5-2 weeks. Not with this place, I only need to re-visit every 3 weeks because that's how long they last. 3.) Pricing. It isn't dirt cheap but neither is the quality of what you are paying for. A basic pedicure runs you $30, which winds up being extremely affordable for what you receive. Callus scrub and a long massage with warm oil and lotion. I can't imagine how long they actually massage you when you get one of the premium pedicure packages! 4.) Customer service. I typically go to Lee, the Owner who is always so kind and remembers exactly the way I like things. He always accommodates me any time or day. All I do is call ahead (because I don't like waiting and usually go on lunch breaks) and 9 times out of 10 he says 'Come right now'! He actually means it. I don't show up and then sit there waiting for all the walk in's they just accepted in the 10 minutes it took me to drive there. 5.) When I leave, I genuinely feel rejuvenated. Almost like leaving a massage parlor. It is rare that I get this experience when leaving any Nail Salon. I can't imagine anyone regretting their experience here. I will continue to go back for years to come as this has been my go to place for the last couple of years! read more

I will say this is a better-than-average vietnamese-run salon. The staff are friendly if a bit brusque and rough. I have gotten used to this from years of the same kind of nail salon. But here's the thing -- you have to choose between the two. Either you go to an upscale salon where the products are nice and the aestheticians are gentle and good at massage but they suck at applying polish and removing calluses, or you do the hard core asian salons where they scrub you within an inch of your life and sometimes make you bleed but damn if your feet don't glow with awesomeness afterward. So when it comes to nails, I'm a "no pain, no gain" kind of girl. I enjoy that they are practisong buddhists and aren't shy about tending their altar and lighting incense. Chairs are new and clean. Atmosphere is nice but not spendy/spa/plush. Polish technique is great, buffing well done, shellac superior. Clean and everything sanitized. Plus they don't nickel and dime you by charging extra for your emery boards. 50 bucks for the entire ride of extras - pedicure included hot paraffin and salt scrub, manicure I had them buff my nails instead of polish and they look amazing. Absolutely terrible. So, I'm one of the people that bought the Groupon deal for the classic pedicure, and finally made my appointment for today. I showed up a few minutes early and was asked what service I would like and if I had an appointment. Then I was told to have a seat. After 10 minutes passed I was informed that they were overbooked and it would be a half hour to 45 minute wait before I could be seen. A friend of mine had also bought the Groupon deal, and she arrived 15 minutes late for hers which wasn't a big deal since they weren't keeping their appointment times. 30 minutes after our appointment time we were finally seated in spa chairs, and my tardy friend received service first while I just sat there for 20 more minutes with my feet in the water. Finally a nail technician came over, and by that time the water was cold and my feet were pruney. She proceeded to give me a very lackluster pedicure and massage. Once she had finished painting my nails she got up and walked away without asking if I was satisfied. I noticed my big toenails were not the same shade and I had to ask her to add a second coat to one of them to make them match. I realize the point of Groupon is to gain new clients, so I sure hope that they already have a great client base because they certainly didn't win me over today. I love this place. My mom and I love to get the Euphoria pedicure, its wonderful! They do paraffin wax on your feet, wonderful massage (but are a little bit rough), and the chairs are great. They always do a great job and make sure you're satisfied. An appointment can help, but they don't always stick to their appointment times. So be prepared to wait a little bit on busy weekends. A pedicure takes about 1-2 hours, depending on how busy they are. I've also had Shelac manicures and that doesn't take as long because it's not that popular of a service. Also, bring cash because they don't take cards. They have an ATM but it will charge you a fee. read more

I'm so happy that this place is within walking distance of my house! I really have no reason to tread elsewhere for my low cost Asian pedi/mani experience. The chairs are nice and comfy and massage-y, and unlike another yelper, I've never had any issues with cleanliness. Their pedicures last well over two weeks, and they do a great job of spending a long time on the massage, leaving me real relaxed. Best $22 indulgence I can think of. Just a few things keep it from getting my full five stars: When I started going, they offered (cheap) wine for free, but the last few visits I've been offered just water or tea. What's up there? Also, the water in the pedi bath's been a bit cold. And also, I've found if you get a mani/pedi, they'll have someone do your nails at the chair. I had bought a Groupon for this business because although I enjoy getting pedicures, I rarely get them. So when this deal popped up, and near my neighborhood, i thought why not. Groupon often is a great way to try new businesses and I have found some of my new favorites via Groupon deals. A friend of mine was in town this weekend (she used to live here) and honestly since living in portland the only time I have ever gotten pedicures is with her. So, of course she wanted to get pedicures while she was in town. I convinced her to try this place instead of going to Vogue nails which is our standard spot (and just around the corner from my apartment). I must say Euphoria Nails was a great experience. The employees were really nice and very attentive. It felt like being at a spa with the decor, peaceful environment, and pampering (massage chairs, and warmed neck pillows!). They also offered water or tea when we first arrived. I was just going to get the pedicure and not do anything on my hands, but when I found out they do paraffin wax treatments I couldn't resist! My friend loved her mani pedi and my friends kid I told her to get the gel manicure.... she did and she loved it.... a great trashy red that she loved. Now for my Pedi.... oh my god she was so rough it was like she was mad at someone and taking it out on me. I didnt say anything because I had never had one before.... I dont really need them I have feet that naturally look pretty good. but yea...... 9 hours later my toes were still red around the nail from her treatment and still hurt to touch 2 days after..... the manicure was not much better.... she was still letting out unknown anger. my hands....oh my ....my hands hurt for a week afterwards. I would go on but that is pretty much the basics....... I was in physical pain and you could see my skin was red and puffy and angry looking for several days after the mani pedi. never again have any of us been back because of that. read more

I honestly don't know why there are so many bad reviews for Euphoria nails. Perhaps it has recently undergone new management? This is the best place I've ever gotten my nails done. As soon as you walk in the door and tell them what you'd like they put a cup of tea in your hand and a hot neck pack on your neck. Granted, this could be the fact that they are more of a nail spa than your average nail salon (still, their prices are really quite reasonable). I got a mani/pedi and the manicure was delightful...granted, I couldn't figure out the massage chair buttons on the remote, but I rarely can anyway. Lina did my nails and she was so nice and soft-spoken, there was no gossip going on in the salon like people said there was, in fact, the technicians barely talked to each other. When you do go to Euphoria they open a newly sterilized, sealed packet of manicure tools for you and give you your own file, buffer, toe separators (should you need them) for free. When I got the manicure I opted for a shellac one, and I must say that they do the most careful job that I have noticed. I will definitely become a regular to Euphoria, especially because they are so close to my house...an added bonus! *word of warning: the paraffin wax dips feel amazing, but are really really hot, so if you're temperature sensitive I suggest you don't get them...also, they do jelly pedicures, where they fill the foot-bath up with a jelly-like substance that you soak your feet in (I can't vouch for this one as I haven't tried it or even seen it be done) read more

The overall atmosphere of the salon was very relaxing, however I had a painful experience. They girl was VERY sweet but I don't think I'll be returning. First of all 3 of my nails are noticeably crooked and I had to file them as best I could myself to make them look somewhat even. On top of that, It's now three days after my manicure and my fingers are STILL in pain. She buffed and filed way too hard and sliced my thumb very deep to the point where it hurt so bad that my hand naturally jerked back towards me in pain. I could tell she felt sorry and I said it was fine but then I told her I have very sensitive skin around my nails and please don't be too rough. She proceeded to slice two more of fingers in the same spot. I think it's important to listen to your customers concern and address them, not just keep doing what you were doing. I've never had a manicure give me so much pain even days after. On top of this I paid $50 plus a $9 tip( even with the painful experience I still Think it's important to tip. I'm not the kind of person that just walks out.)I think from a customers perspective though there should have been some kind of discount for slicing skin like that to the point where three of my fingers were bleeding and are STILL in pain :/ That was just very expensive for the experience that I had. This has become my main go-to place for a pedicure (and when the mood should strike, a manicure). It's clean and new tools are unwrapped right in front of you, the people are friendly, they do a great job (nice long leg/foot massage), the polish lasts a long time without chipping, and if you ask for a glass of wine they will happily oblige.
