Received a discount for return customers! 5 stars Although I made an appt with Kyla I was seen by another staff. I was a little hesitant but the gal was patient and thorough. Come to find I lint on one of my nails and tiny bubble in another after I left. It's fine but I guess having back to back appts and walk ins you feel a little urge for them to rush. My favorite nail salon! The prices are good. I try to call ahead to confirm they have availability and I've always been able to get in quickly. I've gotten gel nails and just got my first set of acrylics. They've all lasted 2-3 weeks. I've had 4 of the different nail artists and have been happy with my experience with all of them. I went there a couple weeks ago and would NOT go back. It's extremely overpriced. I had my builder gel removed and redone and had a clear polish on top. They charged me $15 for a nail trim, the lady cut my nails short without asking me if I was ok with that. I paid $120 for this. The staff is also very not friendly. This place is in a kind of odd little spot, and from the outside looks a bit dodgy coming from the Happy Valley nail salons, but what they lack in fancy blue lights and gaudy environment they 100000000% make up in service. It may have been the best pedicure I've had in Portland. I got their 2nd tier pedi and the woman who helped me set a timer and gave me a legit leg massage. Absolutely terrible experience. I have gotten probably over 100 simple dip manicures over the years and have never had one so awful. When I showed up for my 11:15 appointment, there was not a tech available, so they put me with somebody who essentially pretended to do my nails for 45 minutes before the actual tech showed up. The new person seemed great at first but when I showed her the picture of my desired nail shape (rounded square which is essentially just a classic natural nail shape), she couldn't get it and not only was the shape wrong but the nails were lopsided. I had to end up filing them myself. Then, the dip was layered completely thick at the front and the back, leaving a dip In the middle so instead of having a natural nail arc from cuticle to tip, it looked weirdly sloped, like a valley. When I pointed it out, she said it was because the nails were short and filling the middle would make the whole nail thick. This is absolutely NOT true. I have typically gotten even shorter manicures than this and they have never looked like chiclets before. No undernail cleanup was done, glue was left on my fingertips, and the edges look jagged af. My appointment lasted almost THREE HOURS and my nails look like I did them myself in the dark after too many tequila shots. Took longer than my boob job. Will never be returning. read more

Lowering my score since the owner is a LIAR trying to go against my original review claiming I was there here. Avoid at all costs. Lying is UNACCEPTABLE. They refused to do a design on my nails (I just wanted glitter) and were very rude about it. Our feet were itchy after, my partners have been horrible peeling since. We were cut. The massage I paid for never happened. This place will rip you off, give you horrible service, then lie about it. I didn't even ask for a refund or anything. This place was a huge rip off and I WILL NOT be called a liar on top of it. NEVER GO HERE. - update since they replied AGAIN trying to weasel out of this bad review! I came here again because of my great experience last time but was pretty disappointed. I got the same service as last time, and bought my friend the same for her birthday, which totaled around $140. On top of this, I tipped $30, which is over 21%. I wasn't mad about the price since my nails lasted three and a half weeks last time. This time however, two nails fell off less than a week after I had them. Oh well, it happens, still wasn't mad about it. I went in and explained to them what happened. The attitude was a lot different though, very cold and almost irritated like it was my fault my nails didn't last. Not one word was spoken during this interaction which made it a little awkward. A day later, two more nails on my other hand broke off! So I go back in and this time the guy, I think he's the owner, was even more rude and chilly. Then tried to charge me $8 for fixing the nails, even though it was just over a week since I had originally gotten them done. Keep in mind I paid $85 for these nails with the tip, I was expecting them to last at least a couple weeks! The thing is, had they been pleasant during my service, I would have gladly given them the $8 and probably more. The four times I have been at this salon we were the only customers there besides like one other person. I get that your business is probably not doing so great because of Covid, but taking it out on well paying, respectful customers is not right. read more

I have had the best manicures of my life here. I just moved to the area 4mo ago, and I go every two weeks to update my shellac mani (only $26!) Owners of the salon do an amazing job (I think they're husband/wife) and the majority of their staff is kind, professional, clean and do an excellent job. HUNDREDS of colors to choose from. Two star review for: They have just hired a new tech and I've had the unfortunate luck of getting her twice in a row. I don't know her name, but I have given her two chances on a mani and it has been the worst I've received. The shaping is great, the paint job is terrible - bumps, bubbles, no straight lines (See photos attached). Polish isn't even. Bumps stick out enough to get caught on clothes, hair, etc. I can do better on my own, I feel like it is a waste of $30. I'm not sure how to go back and not request her. It's unfortunate. I hope they can see this and let her excel in shaping, but not applying polish. read more
