I have been coming here for about 3 years and see a regular worker who consistently does a great job on my pedicure. Mostly this store is very busy so I decided to try coming the day after New Year. The worker I usually see had the day off so I took whoever was available. Usually my pedicure takes 30 minutes, with careful cleaning under my nails. This time it was done in approximately 15 minutes (I watched the clock). There were very few customers inside and I was the only customer having a pedicure. Needless to say, I was surprised at how quickly my pedicure was done. My husband dropped me off inside to see how crowded it was. He drove up the road to buy gas. By the time he returned a few minutes later, I was paying at the register. "Done already???" he exclaimed in disbelief. "Yes" I answered shaking my head. As an aside I tip 50% or $10 for a $20 pedicure. This time, I wish I gave her $5. When I asked to cut my nails shorter, she disagreed. Next time if my regular worker isn't available, I'll just come back another day. read more

Came here recently since I was in town and this place is not what it used to be for me. I remember it being very warm and welcoming when you arrived, polite folks having conversations and that is what I was looking for, the nostalgic experience that I compared every other nail salon to. I guess the saving grace is that they did a decent job with my pedicure and understood clearly what I wanted and was looking for. If I could put zero stars, I would, I came here and asked for a French tip. They put press on nails with glue which they cured under a LED light. The glue was very noticeable so when it came time for her to paint my nails, you can see the glue Under the clear nail polish which she knew I wanted from the beginning. when I asked them to just take it off and give me a regular set without the press ons, so I wouldn't have that glue build up they told me if they they take it off, they're going to charge me. I went here after waiting way to long at Sea Sea nails. I called last minute because Sea Sea nails disregarded my appointment and took others before me and had me wait 45 mins for toes to dry. I paid Sea Sea nails for pedicure and left. I called Angel Tips at 6:30 and they closed at 7, I believe. I saw a review about a girl who had the same issue with Sea Sea. Angel Tips took me right away and Helen did my nails perfectly and understood what I was looking for. She said 30 mins after close to finish my nails and said, "Don't be sorry, it's no problem at all." I realized right before she started the stars were only 2.6 on Yelp. I was worried a little. After she was done though, I didn't regret it. Helen was meticulous about getting my shaping perfect and everything. She said any problems to call her and come back and she will fix. I came to this nail salon today after waiting over an hour at Sea Sea nails down the street and walking out. Everyone at Angel Tips was so friendly and sweet. Right when i walked in they greeted me and sat me right away. Jennifer did an amazing job. She filled my nails so nice, they came out perfect! The prices here are great and even though it is an older looking salon it is clean and spacious. I will definitely come back again for a fill and maybe eyebrows because they are cheap and in a great location. Obviously not Black people friendly. Was there today and got my nails done by Cindy. Came in for a mani and pedi. Waited for a few mins at the front then they put me at the pedi station and I waited 20 mins for someone to come to me. Although, of course, 3 white women came in after me and of course someone had started on their nails before mine. As I was about to leave Cindy came over to start my feet. I let it go and stayed. Was coming in for a spa pedicure but decided I didn't want to be there long and got a regular pedi and callus remover which seemed rushed. Was going to say forget it to the mani but I have places to be this week. Here comes the good part.... She started my mani and once done shaping my nails , she wrote up my bill of $30 and wanted me to pay before the service was done. I was very pissed. Yes I know some salons make You pay before you are finished but not this one. I watched and listened to the multiple other white clients leaving and not one of them was asked to pay before the service was done, they all paid AFTER. I was livid. Do better!!! I went last night and received my acrylic full from Evan. My fill was done on steps with him and I wasn't given a lot of time to pick out a color. They charge $10 for a design but they can't do a popular one. After my morning shower I have a couple of corners of my nails chipped. I went in on Friday for a shellac manicure and pedicure. I opted for the Spa pedicure because I have some pretty thick calluses on my feet. The guy tried really hard to buff away my calluses, but its Sunday and my feet feel rough to the touch and my shellac manicure is already chipping. That's not a press on nail, that is a gel tip that has, in its entirety, peeled off my nail. I came in less than 24 hours ago to have 2 tips redone because they broke (after having been on for just 1 week). The girl didn't even do the extension, she just poorly slabbed some gel on top of my broken nail. The other nail she did is also peeling off. Went here today as a first time customer, and had a very aweful experience!!!!! I am still very apalled at their customer skills service. I went to get a pedicure and found it very peculiar as to how the technician put my feet in the water with a few bubbles, then immediately proceeded to dig around my toenails and rinsed them and immediately prepped my feet to polish them???? I have always experienced technicians scrubbing under your feet and other techniques, this one didn't? Then as she was about to polish my toenails I asked her about the dead skin around the bottom of my feet and she looked up at me and said "oh that is callous removal and cost $6 more, proceeded to paint my toes then looked up and said "sorry for not telling you before" when I went to go dry my "crusty looking feet" , a tall slender oriental man walks up to me requesting payment?? While handing him the money I tried to explain the aforementioned to him and of course you know he argued defensively for the technician which is a lack of customer service skills. (To me I am starting to see this as a common practice) .I am very saddened by the way an establishment can be so greedy and ignorant to customers and have such a love for money over customer service? First off, it reeks of chemicals - very unhealthy to be breathing in fumes and a sign that they didn't think to properly ventilate the place. Beyond that major flaw, the poor service, unkempt work spaces and unprofessional and hectic ambiance should be enough to convince any sane woman to go elsewhere. 7 minutes away in Darien in a brand new place - Spa Grace - that is running great deals to drum up business. Make THAT your go-to - or one of the zillion other places in the area that are CLEAN and comfortable. Angel tips will forever be my nail salon. The only place that does my french UV Gel manicures flawlessly. Im there so often they already know what I need (since I always only get french) and love that they're so familiar now and make me feel so comfortable. My nails looked worse after I left. Samuel complimented the square shape of my natural nails & then proceeded to file them down in CROOKED lines. The staff seemed confused about a basic gel manicure. This is a nice place if you don't want to spend crazy money. They do the job but try to go there early because if you go at 6 or 7 pm they will do a fast not-so-good job; also if they are very busy try to come back if you have time because they will be rushing to get you done and help the next costumer. Does anyone around here have any idea how fortunate it is to have Anna (the manager) at this salon and so close by? I have been going to her for almost 15 years, since she was in NY and she's unparalleled at creating natural and beautiful gel nails and gel french... They also happen to be far less expensive than other parts of Fairfield but that is simply icing on the cake ~ I'd go to Anna if she charged double! Unfortunately, we have moved away from the area in the past so I have not always been able to see her regularly (but have been known do drive 2 hours for an appt w/ her). I went in to Angel Tips for a pedicure. , so my bill was 18.00& So I leave the girl 5 dollar tip , I check my credit card later only to see she added an extra 10$, so she gave herself a 15$ tip extra tip, my advise I would never use my credit card again I also would suggest you go where the workers don't steal. I can't believe this salon has these poor ratings. I was in last Monday, without an appointment to get a full set of gel extensions. Although their closing time was close, they took me in and did it very carefully. I wanted a certain length, certain cut, and they followed all instructions. Fast and Friendly .... My work schedule is very unpredictable so I can never make a standing appointment. However when I get to the salon I'm always greeted with a warm smile and have never been turned away. I'm a traditional French gel tip girl and am always in and out in about an hour or less. They have a loyalty card where you get a credit toward your service after 10 visits. It also helps that they stay open until 7. If you are looking for a "spa experience" this might not be the place for you, but if you are looking for a great mani/pedi from friendly people that always remember your name then be sure to stop in. read more

I know a lot of things happened in last three years whatever on their previous owner or their way to run this business, it get lost anyway. Now this place is under new management, we working hard since we take this place (update the motor of pedicure chairs, use disposal plastic bag, repaint the wall, update the restroom)because we wanna bring back a new better angeltips to everybody. I went in to get my eyebrows and lip waxed and usually a female does it but this time a man did it. I was a little skeptical at first but I gave it a chance. He didn't brush my eyebrows out and just started waxing. He put burning hot wax on my face each strip, despite me saying it's hot. He was also moving super fast. So fast forward to my lip. He puts the hot wax on my lip then the strip and then vigorously rips it off. You'd think all the hair would be gone righ? No, it's still plenty of hair on my lip and it burns like crazy. So I pay and leave and go back to car to get a better look. I never went back into a nail salon to ask for a better job done even though there are times I wanted too. But this was bad. Eyebrows are super uneven, he ruined my left eyebrow by im guessing mistakingly taking too much off while rushing. And then the whole left side of my lip has noticeable hair on it and the middle part is completely skinned and burned. Waking up today, my lip is even worse and hurts and looks terrible. When I went back in, I told one of the ladies and she gladly took me back to the wax room to get me right. She brushed my eyebrows out(which he didn't do) and started doing her thing. She then waxes the left side of my lip again then tweezes them. She must of knew something was wrong because she wouldn't touch the other side of my lip. Awful....my eyebrow wax was done by someone who has NEVER done it before. Another employee was in the room speaking in another language pointing at what she needed to do, it took 30 effing minutes to do my eyebrows, most of the time was with tweezers, barely any wax, WHAAAT??? On top of that I had gel tips done and all I see is my original effing nails, your people are overworked and don't care about the quality of work they do because the woman in charge is a slave driver. 3 different people did my nails because she scheduled wrong and then she demanded that I tip them all, NO, you over schedule and over work your people, pay them more! DEGRADING TO CUSTOMERS I am not one to write reviews, since I work in the customer service industry and know that many only write reviews when they are angry, but my experience at this salon this weekend warrants it. I had been going to this salon for over a year, since I moved to the area. Their late hours, and being open on sundays was a huge benefit to me with my work schedule. The first few times I was there service was excellent, but it only got worse from there. A few months ago I had brought my friend in for a pedicure with me. I was raving about their great deal for $20 that includes a leg massage, its fantastic. We get there and the girl uses dirty tools on BOTH of us! I was shocked, no mortified, because that has never happened. Not only that, I asked for a specific pedicure, she tried to upsell me to some stupid rose pedicure which is a ridiculously priced $50, and I politely decline. SHE GOES AHEAD WITH THIS PEDICURE ANYWAYS AND CONTINUES even after I ask what it is she is doing. Of course, they proceeded to charge me the $50 even though I never wanted it. I figured the girl must have been new so I went in 2 weeks ago for just a gel fill in. What I liked was that they guarantee their fills for 2 weeks with the permanent French. Well 12 days into my fill, one of them breaks. I rush in on Saturday (literally 14 days from the date I got mine done) explaining that I would like my one nail redone since it broke 12 days into it. The owner, Anna, who is literally useless because she actually SLEEPS AND SNORES in the waxing rooms, looks at me, looks at my nail and tells me I will need a whole new set. Granted, after 2 weeks you are supposed to, but my nails don't grow that fast and I'm on a budget so no, I just needed the one nail re-done. After I explain this to her, her next excuse is the 2 week guarantee is really only 13 days, on the 14th day it is no longer valid. EXCUSE ME?! What kind of guarantee is that then? I tell her that it broke Thursday night but today was the only day I could get in and I apologized. The place is empty, theres 6 people sitting at their stations listening to music on their phones, and Anna then tells me to SIT AND WAIT, because no one is available. Then she tells me in order to get my nail done I "better have my membership card with the date from my last visit". ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I used to be one of those people who felt bad for nail ttechnicians. I have seen the way some people speak to them, and even have stood up for some of the girls here, but being treated like I'm a criminal after over a year of dedicated service to them was it, the last straw. If I could give them a no-star rating I would. You're better off paying 5 dollars more for a clean, professional place not run by a bitch of an owner, and leave feeling better about yourself, not like a degraded human being. read more

I am so disappointed in this place! I've been here a couple of times, and while not the best, they've always been reliable and affordable. However, this time was a different story. I went to get a gel manicure and a pedicure and oh how I wish I went elsewhere! As I was walking back to get my pedicure, the place was completely packed in and there was no room to move. The worker told me to push the cart in front of me away, so I could sit in the pedicure chair. However when I pushed it, the entire tray of supplies went crashing down on the crown, and in the process, I was cut by a small piece of glass on my toe. They came over and helped me, which was nice, and cleaned the cut and gave me a band-aid. Once all was calm and the mess was clean, I got my gel manicure and I told them instead of a pedicure (since my toe was now bleeding) that I wanted just a nail clipping and a polish change. The woman told me it would be the same price as a pedicure, but I said that's fine, since I needed one badly and figured the owner would just comp the pedicure at the end. However, not only did she not comp the pedicure, I ended up paying for both. It gets better. As other women near me at the drying station were asking about my foot, the owner THEN came over and told me if I go to the doctor, to give her the bill. Wouldn't it just be easier to comp the faux-pedicure? Clearly, she said it because other women in the salon were questioning why I was paying. These people will really pull out all the stops to make a quick buck, forget the fact that a paying client was injured/bleeding in their salon. Because if this, I will NEVER AGAIN go here and I will make sure no one I know tries it out, either. DISGUSTING and PATHETIC way to manage a salon. Keep my money, lady, because when I bring you my MORE EXPENSIVE doctors bill, you'll be the one upset. read more

If you were like me, and called about half a dozen salons in the vicinity of Norwalk, trying to find the best deal on a half-leg (Lower leg) wax, and then got hold of this salon, where the unbelievable price was $15 total, you would be ecstatic! i mean ecstatic!! The nearest price was $30 elsewhere and this place beat it by half. They did a good job! Out of my exuberance, i offered them a $20 to say "Thank you for Being here"! to give it perspective, it's not a super nice decor, rather drabby and things are coming apart. plus the service is a bit off. The lady who did my legs was from Asia (east or southeast Asian country). First and foremost, I receive horrible customer service. As soon as I walk in, I was greeted rudely with a "what do you need" it's like these folks don't care about their customers. Smh.... Now, that's not the worst part. I let the guy know I would like to get my chin waxed, he sends me to the back with a young girl who would be the one doing the waxing. Long story short, this girl ripped some of my skin off. I go to my dermatologist and I find out that since I use acne cream, the ingredients in the cream makes my skin very sensitive. If I could give no stars I would. Not only is the owner so rude and basically ignores you as you walk in over the years I've given this place a few chances and each time I'm reminded of why I'd never go back. Years ago they wanted ten extra dollars to paint every other nail a A different color, I brought my own nail polish and you're absolutely doing nothing extra than what you would if you were doing all the nails the same color. Fast forward a year regardless of the fact that I'd walk in and get completely ignored they told me it was a certain price and at the end it was $15 more. Just recently I went in they were rude I asked for just a polish change of my toes which most places usually charge me around eight dollars she was going to charge me the full price of a pedicure which was 18$. why would I pay $18 just to have the polish changed? While I was there another woman wanted to use a gift card and they told her no that she couldn't use it until after the New Year's, what kind of sense does that even make. I posted something on Facebook about my experience and tons of people commented how horrendous their experiences were. Only reason I even went this time is my place was randomly closed due to family death. But for sure I will just not have nails done If they're my only option again. read more
