Best pizza in the area, by far. We have ordered take out multiple times and never disappointed.

So I just discovered this place recently. Well, I knew it was here but I just hadn't stopped in. That changed a few weeks ago. Got a recommendation from a fellow employee and decided to check it out. I stopped in for lunch and did a take out order. I got the Philly Cheese Steak and fries. Wow, that's a lot of food. 11" sub & a bucket of fries. The cheese steak was really good. I've been back since and the last two times I've gotten the meatball parm sub. For 8 bucks, this is a tasty and filling lunch option. No sides come with it but you don't need them with the size of this sandwich. Great flavor and I like the soft and chewy bread. Fair warning: let that thing cool down a bit, it'll gitcha if you're not careful. A burnt mouth: ain't no one got time for that. read more

Angela's is by far the closest to real Italian food! It seems that you could hardly find an Italian spot-around here, but so far Angela did us a favor by providing the best real sauce they use. They cannot cook spaghetti when wife told them it tasted burned and my daughters spaghetti that was angel hair tasted better they did nothing They didn't bring a refill of Diet Coke as the guy said the shit the machine down at 10. I asked like 5 to 10 minutes prior. Waitresses standing around just standing around. Owner didn't offer a replacement on the simple spaghetti for my wife. Only reason 2 stars meatballs tasted ok. Had a GREAT New Years Dinner at Angelas tonight. Calamari and white wine Mussels and a good crusty bread. They had our favorite pasta tonight. You've got to try their Gorgonzola Sauce. Tonight it was served with Scallops and Shrimp. Owners and staff are very nice and helpful. read more

Very dark and hard to see the menu. I went there for the first time and the place was not busy and we went to order a pizza the waiter said the wait for a pizza would be 40 minutes and kinda sucked for service and I ordered a sprite and a appetizer and that was $15 and that mad me mad so I will never come back unless I can get a pizza under 15 minutes read more

I have been going here for years. It is a family friendly environment and the staff remember returning customers. The food is consistently very good and prepared exactly to order in a timely manner. It is overcrowded with tables and chairs and tricky for walkers or wheelchairs. read more

Yesterday we ordered a pizza from Angela's. This was the second time we've ordered a pizza from them and I've eaten there in a restaurant one time so far it has been good but yesterday the pizza I got was not the pizza I ordered. I ordered a large pizza half pepperoni and pineapple and to put artichokes and mushrooms and olives on the whole pizza. What I got was half a cheese pizza with everything else on one side I checked the pizza before I left and I said this is wrong. I checked the order which was written correctly. They said they'd call me today but they didn't and didn't offer right then and there to fix the pizza. Oh well won't be going back anytime soon. read more

I'm not a local, but I frequent Charlotte on a regular basis. Since discovering Angela's about 3 years ago it has become one of my favorites in the Southeast. I've had Italian from Ney York to Chicago and all the way south; Angela's is right up there. Beit a calzone, eggplant parmesan, or anything in between all is excellent. Angela's owner,Peter, is from Jersey and knows how Italian should be done. I toured his kitchen and it is imaculate. I plan to be there tomorrow! read more

Look at the dates for their good reviews because they aren't accurate now. Picked up a pepperoni pizza Friday night and my stomach is still hurting from all of the grease. I don't know how you make such a greasy mess and call it pizza. I will never go back I would rather eat a frozen pizza first. read more

I am so disappointed in Angela's. I have left wonderful reviews previously and previously felt that way. Unfortunately things have changed. Tonight I called to order take out. The first time I called someone answered and said please hold. I did for 5 straight minutes before I hung up and figured I would call back when they weren't so busy. The second time I called I held for 10 minutes. No one every came back on the phone to say they would be right back with me, no one picked up at all. I finally ordered from another restaurant.While on hold I read the recent reviews and see that I am not the only person to feel this way. I truly am disappointed, Angela's was my favorite and I recommended it to all my friends, unfortunately I guess I can't do that anymore. read more

Angela's has what may be the best Fettuccini Alfredo on the planet. Seriously, it's amazing. Their bread is great and the service is top notch. My wife loves the manicotti and the penne ala vodka is great too. Occasionally they have a Sinatra-like singer who is pretty good. It's our favorite Italian place in town unless we're going for pizza (theirs is good too, but there are better options). Definitely worth a visit! read more

This place is great! especially for the location. Great restaurants are lacking close to this area (in Charlotte off Idlewild near Mint Hill), but Angela's really stands out. We used to live near the Arboretum in Charlotte and found no Italian restaurants as a go to restaurant for Italian take out suitable at all. The sauces are amazingly good. Garlic knots delicious. Capellini alla Primarvera is Awesome!!! :) But so is everything else we have tried. If you ask a waiter for the favorite dishes they will give you a long list of beloved dishes to try out. Friendly Staff, Angela's is definitely a family owned business not a corporate giant or fine dining experience, so in my opinion the other reviewers are out of line with the staff reviews. They certainly expect you to enjoy your meal with more of a European pace to your dining experience. The owners are present and friendly in appropriate ways. The portions are huge and heat up well the next day. Not necessarily dieter friendly. Repeat: The Sauces at Angela's are AMAZING. I think they go through a lot of great olive oil back in the kitchen. The pasta is great too. Lots of dishes have lots of vegetables which is a huge plus for me. PERFECT FOR TAKE-OUT. There is always a steady flow of people coming in and out for take-out. Great for Dining In. Nice little outside seating area. Decent Music for a restaurant setting. If you have at least somewhat well behaved kids I would imagine Angela's to be family friendly. We ate at Angela's while in town for a cross country meet. After reading the reviews we figured it was worth a shot. Thank goodness we did decided to give it a go. The food was outstanding. The service was equally matched. The atmosphere is great. It was Friday night and the place was packed. We had the prosciutto and mozzarella to start and then went with a pizza. My wife and I live in Mint Hill. We were curious when Angela's opened, but , because we tend to be creatures of habit, waited a long time before we decided to take the plunge. Our first visit was memorable to the extent that our server removed a partially empty beer bottle from our table. Since that time we return again and again for three reasons-the food, the service and the ambiance. We have sampled many of the dishes. We like everything we sampled but are drawn again and again to what we believe is the best pizza in the region. The crust is light and crisp and the toppings plentiful and bursting with flavor. Our server, Stephanie is exceptional. We have grown quite fond of her. She is warm, friendly and a consummate professional. She adds so much to the dining experience.Stephanie is an anticipatory server who takes personal pride in providing excellent service. Angela's is a warm, inviting dining establishment. It is a pleasure to sit at a table with real napkins and be served by a professionally dressed staff. The lighting is subdued, the music is soothing and on occasion there is live music which hearkens back to the sixties. Very smooth. Linda pours a generous drink from the small but intimate bar. Angela's caters to take out, outside and inside dining. You can have an intimate romantic evening or a group get together. Angela's can handle it all in stride. Prices are fair. We look forward to eating there a couple of times a week. Angela's deserves a five star rating. read more

The best part of the dinner is when i tried some of my husbands Sea Food Special. It was amazing. It had lobster, clam, shrimps, and mussels and it was in a very good spicy red sauce. You will be surprised! What a menu! Beautiful inside and outdoor seating, full bar, and great prices. Authentic and fresh. We ordered a lighter dinner. The salad my wife ordered was a work of art! Good food, not so great atmosphere. I love their pizza as well as many other dishes. I prefer to order for pick up rather than eat in because it seems they always have far too many people working when there aren't any customers. Every time I go in the staff (comprised mostly of teen girls) are congregated socializing, which is highly unprofessional. I always feel like an outsider there. If you aren't a regular, expect a rather cool reception. We've had a good experience there, but it was only one time out of many. read more

Service has its ups and downs (seems there's high turn-over, so a lot of times you're dealing with a newbie). My favorites are the pizza - can't go wrong there. Truly authentic NY pizza! While the food at Angela's is always delicious, the service is awful. I made a reservation months ago for 15-23 people to celebrate my sons baptism after church. I had spoken to different people at Angela's many times about this reservation. Sadly last night was the worse service we've ever received. We had 17 people in our party for a 6:30 reservation and the waitress didn't even get us our drinks until 7pm. She was so slow, apparently someone called in but with a party that big you need 2 servers. Everything was late. A few people in our party didn't ever receive their food until most of the table was already done. Then to top it all off, they added a 20% tip to our bill. That service was not worthy of 20%. If someone called out, knowing such a large party was coming, the manager should have been on duty to help out. The restaurant wasn't even busy. I will never book a party there again.
