This beautiful little Italian bakery is absolutely AMAZING! There was a line out the door (you have to wait outside so as to not block the exit), which we considered to be a VERY good sign. And boy, we were not disappointed. Honestly, I expected Vito Corleone to walk out of the place ("Don't forget the cannoli!"). Pick from a huge selection, grab an espresso, maybe some gelato- they have it all! We got a slice of cheesecake, a slice of tiramisu cake, and a cannoli and everything was absolutely delicious. We got it to go to take back to our AirBnB, and they wrap all the to go orders up in these gorgeous little boxes with ribbons. Brocato's is a sweet treat that is hard to pass up! After dinner one night in the area I made sure to save room for some dessert. The inside is super cute and the line moves pretty quickly. Love this place! It's an old fashioned gelateria/pastry shop that has terrible parking and always a line but you deal with that because it's just SO GOOD! It's Christmas so of course they have all the Christmas goodies for sale too right now. Super cute place. Customer service was A-1!! Visited on a Friday afternoon around 4:30pm and there was no line. Very quick service, clean store, and very helpful employees. I had the cream filled Cannocini which was delicious and fresh. My daughter had the strawberry Napoleon and my son had 2 scoops of Vanilla Bean ice cream. The Vanilla Bean was probably the freshest I ever had and the strawberry Napoleon was great as well. Bonus: The pastries came in a cute little box. This is a New Orleans institution! It's the best Italian sweet spot. It's usually pretty busy, especially on warm days when everybody is craving their delicious gelato, or near traditional Italian holidays (I don't want a St. Joseph's Day without a Brocato's cannoli - the traditional with chocolate on one end, vanilla on the other, closed with crushed pistachios on the ends and powdered sugar on top ). After having dinner nearby, I went to this dessert shop to try their tiramisu. There was a small line inside so my group waited outside until all of us could fit inside together. After reviewing their gelato case, I almost added a kids size cup of stracciatella, but decided to stick with my original plan. The service was good; one of the employees behind the counter identified who was in our group (of six) and pulled each treat from the cases for us. There are about 12 tables (most seat 4) in the establishment and my group sat together, ate our desserts and chatted. I'm not sure what the price of my tiramisu slice was but the total of all 6 items (including gelato, slices of cake, etc) came to about $38. My slice satisfied my craving for the night. However, the lady finger layers were dry and I suspect it's due to the amount of refrigeration of the cake. It was almost 9pm by the time I had my slice. Also, two people in my group noted the rum cake was rich and a little too much ROM for one of them. Next time, I'd try the gelato or have another slice of tiramisu if it were earlier in the day. read more

This place has been on my list to try for a while, finally made it there this past weekend! I got tiramisu, napoleon and sfogliatelle. Tiramisu was delicious; the lady finger to mascarpone ratio is just right, very moist, could use a bit more coffee/espresso flavor though, otherwise, it is the best I've had in NOLA. Napoleon was also delicious! The light crunch from the pastry layers along with the custard cream, amazing. Sfogliatelle was a disappointment! Not sure if it was just old or a bad batch, the pastry was hard and stale. The custard tasted fine... I couldn't finish it because eating the pastry is like chewing on plastic! Overall, I would go back to try at least the gelato and for the tiramisu and napoleon! read more

We also like their macaroons, biscotti, and various cookies too! This place is fantastic, but my only complaint is that they're kind of expensive. Under normal circumstances, after having lived in the area for over a decade, I would say that no place in the greater New Orleans area is worth waiting in a line. This is an exception. I have never had anything bad here, it is all amazing. On my most recent visit, I got an iced latte and a bananas foster cheesecake. Amazing. My mouth is watering thinking about it. Everything is clean inside, there is indoor and outdoor seating. The employees are amazing and friendly. This is a must do for everyone. Be careful where you park. I've been here a handful of times and I love it! I've had their cannolis , gelato and every experience has been great. The last time that me and my son came they were so patient and even let him try a sample because he kept insisting that he wanted lemon but then changed his mind after he tried it! Visited New Orleans and Angelo Brocato's with friends on Thursday, June 29th. I ordered a favorite lemon and cherry flaky cinnamon sugar topped turnovers to go. They were packaged neatly inside their signature box and in Italian colors tied off so perfectly. The turnovers were comforting and delicious for breakfast the next day. During the visit, my friends and I shared a blue berry crisp, a slice of plain Italian cheesecake, 2 chocolate Florentines, 2 meltaway cookie balls, and red velvet cookies. My friends also sampled 2 mini traditional cannoli. My expectations were exceeded by most items shared, with the exception of the blueberry crumble. As always I will visit Angelo Brocato's when in the area, usually after dining at other neighborhood eateries.
