Everything about it is mediocre. BUT when you're hungry, your HUNGRY, and the place delivers. I recommend their Italian over their Mexican. And as far as East Durham goes, this place is the best to sit down and have dinner. read more

Placed an order for delivery and when the order arrived one of the items was missing. Also, the delivery was over an hour. When I called to inquire about the order, they hung up on me and I had to call back. I had to reorder they did not rush my order and I had to go pick it up. Nice place. Came here for breakfast this morning with my grandfather. It's a nice neighborhood place with friendly faces. French toast with strawberries was good and my grandfather enjoyed his egg platter. Breakfast was good but they have a much better lunch with a greater selection. read more

We're here visiting the area. This place is awesome. This is our second time ordering. The first time we ordered some of the Mexican food, it was awesome. This time we ordered some of their Italian subs, also delicious. Don't believe the other reviews saying they take forever to deliver. Both times they delivered 20 - 30 minutes quicker than they said they would arrive. Will be getting food here again next time we're in the area. read more

The owner is just about the nastiest person you could ever expect to deal with. He just made a delivery to us and the treatment that my sweet disabled son received was cruel and inhuman. Complaining to my son that he had to wait sooo long for my son to answer the door...ummm..my son is disabled..its hard for him physically. If he had to wait 5 minutes I don't think that is so long!!..Then yelling at my son that there was ice in the driveway...well yes..packed down ice that no one can do anything about...and it's everywhere!!!...at Angels too....then all mad because HIS pen didn't work and my son said he would get him one but this guy didn't care. So rude...so disrespectful...unkind...and shall we talk about the food!!...it's hit or miss there...mostly miss. The soup is always just broth and celery....the pastrami Reuben sandwich...chewy inedible meat ....soggy fries....undercooked burger....stale cake....burnt fried chicken.....broiled scallops that were not broiled at all...maybe boiled...tasted awful....salmon that was cut up in huge fat chunks...was disgusting....meatloaf that tasted like plastic..I honestly don't think it was actually meat....so now...never again...never ever ever again...nasty man and his nasty food. read more

I've only had the Mexican food here and it's superb. Classic style. I'm sure the diner stuff is fine too and I saw a lot coming in and picking up pizzas to go so I'm sure those are great as well. But in these parts , East Durham , good food is scarce and Authentic Mexican is impossible to find do dig in to Angels! read more

We ate breakfast here 3 days straight on 4th of July weekend and let me tell you the place is clean,the food was very good and the service was excellent. Almos every time the place was packed and we had a large group and the food came out amazing fast correct as ordered. Several staff members came by numerous times to ask if everything was ok and if we needed anything. Ive been coming to East Durham for 42 years and if they maintain what i experienced they will stay open a long time. Cant wait to try there dinner menu. read more

Nice stop after a fun filled day at Zoom Flume. We will definitely revisit. Our party of eight was greeted warmly. Food was really good. The menu was simple but stocked with the popular Italian/Mexican/American foodie items. My son and boyfriend particularly impressed with the chicken enchilada dinner. Attentive service. We stopped in for lunch during Irish Arts Week. Nice variety on the menu, including a kids menu. My wife had a taco salad, my kids had burgers and fries, both of which were high quality and I had a buffalo chicken sandwich. There menu also had entrees and pizza available. Awesome place! Based of the design of their sign I thought it was an Asian restaurant but soooo glad I finally stopped in there. I've had their burgers which are superior and large with good flavor, the fries too But what I really love is their Mexican food! Made a pit stop with my wife and 21 month-old son because he needed a break from the road trip. Staff were really accommodating and brought us a high chair and kids cup for him. Not since this place was Hansel and Gretel years ago has anyone had a clue how to run this restaurant. These people have it down. They provide excellent service, which is a rarity up in this part of the world. I had a huge omelet which came with a healthy dose of home fries. We stay at the Country Place at zoom flume every summer for seven years but the new owners now serve inedible food. You can go to that site for review. Food was so bad we decided to eat else ware even though we were paying for breakfast & lunch at Country Place "Resort". We came to angels first for breakfast and it was what we expected- good. Above average. Wife and kids loved their pancakes. I went for it with eggs Benedict. Not the best ever but very good and better than most diners I have eaten at. We were pleased. While the country place was re-using leftovers all week and disguising it as something new we came back to Angels for dinner. Very pleasantly surprised. Not a place i would expect good Mexican food but i noticed the cook and waiter (owner?) were hispanic so we all ordered Mexican food. I had enchiladas with mole sauce. Delicious and a pleasant surprise - authentic! Prices seemed low for the quality. Don't expect atmosphere- it is a country diner. Clean, fast and very good service and friendly staff. Known as "the diner" by local musicians, it's definitely a must do for breakfast or lunch in this small town with very few choices for dining.
