John is professional, easy to work with and very talented at what he does. He previously installed a custom front pedestrian gate at our house and did an awesome job. When we wanted to add 2 redwood and iron gates to the sides of our home, there was no question we would use Angels Iron again. John listened to our vision, took a few measurements and then sat down to sketch out exactly what we had in mind. His crew showed up a few weeks later to install both gates, which required demo and removal of the old gates and some cement work, all in one afternoon. The final gates look exactly like his sketches. We love the results... they look better than we had imagined! The quality of the work is top notch and their prices are reasonable considering everything is custom and of the best quality. During the installation we ran into a couple surprises caused by the existing structure (poor brickwork by the previous owners) and John was quick to do the extra work necessary to make the gate look flawless. read more

I am writing this review in utter gratitude. John, owner of Angels Ornamental Iron in Anaheim just left our home. We have a side gate that does not close correctly and John came to assess the issue. We were assuming that either we needed a repair or a totally new gate. John could easily have offered either of those options as a solution. He did not. I recently had Angels Ornamental Iron install a new gate for my condo. I'm very satisfied with the result and received a few compliments already on its appearance. I appreciate their attention to detail. Instead of bolting the gate to the sidewalk, they drilled holes in the concrete and cemented the gate poles into the ground. They used a syn-lustro alkyd gloss enamel paint and did some touch-ups during installation. There is one small ornamental knob that is slightly higher than the others, but I don't think it detracts from the appearance of the gate. I was scrutinizing it upon arrival, but I don't think people notice. The owner, John, was careful to look at slope of the ground to make sure about the clearance and other factors. I got the gate with narrower bars to keep my cat in when he's on the patio and John suggested the resulting design when I said I also wanted some swirls. Plus he was pleasant and professional. You might be able to find a lower quote, but I like the quality of my gate. read more

Great on new projects, but horrible on repairs years later. Had the entire back fence replaced with them and the job was performed very good. Now, Front gate needs a new gate latch welded on as the fence and gate have shifted due to age and weight. Gate will not lock and I have a pool. Called, John came by unannounced, said he would call back when he could fit it in on another job as they have a $500 minimum and nothing! Called the office left a message, and still no response. Very frustrating as a no would be better than no response. read more

We had a small wrought iron project we needed handled with our existing wrought iron staircase--the removal of decorative ornaments. We needed it handled, as soon as practical, in order to prepare our home for sale. I called and spoke to a pleasant lady in the office, and I scheduled an appointment for a quote. The owner, John, called before the appointment and asked if he could come earlier, because he was running ahead of schedule (ahead!). John arrived early. John was extremely pleasant, is knowledgeable, and is most informative. John handled the small project, while on-site, and provided detailed instructions on how to do some easy DIY follow up work to complete the project. Was disappointed when I called that they do not "service our area". I noticed another reviewer was also in Corona so I didn't think it would be a problem. Normally I wouldn't write a bad review because of this, but Google maps says we are 19 miles away, which hardly seems like it would be too far and they have clearly worked here in the past. Their loss on a big project (16 ft bi-parting automatic driveway gate, walkthrough gate, and pool fence). Lady who answered the phone was courteous enough which is why I gave it 2 stars. read more

After doing business with Angel's on two occasions (a backyard fence and an ornamental gate) they were my first call to have some modifications done to the front gate. It turned into nothing but a huge disappointment! Called to have someone come out and give me an estimate. After a two day wait called again with a second request. Both times I was assured I would receive a call back from John Kang ASAP. Not sure what their definition of ASAP is, but I'm a week and a half down the road and no one has responded after two messages. Don't waste your time with this clown show, there are plenty of Iron artists who really want and appreciate your business...Call one of them. That's what I intend to do. read more

John Kang of Angels Ornamental Iron is an artist with a strong business acumen. He gave me exactly what I wanted for a fair price within an expeditious time frame. He and his men are professional, pleasant and knowledgable. Wanting to replace my wood stair rail with wrought iron, I scheduled in-home quotes from three companies rated highly on Angie's List and/or Yelp. The owner of the first company told me he would put dividers into the design (ugly), and that I'd need to have designated steps reinforced, then have built and live with a temporary rail for three weeks. His quote was $4k higher than John's and he was pressuring me to use his church acquaintance to reinforce the steps and build the temporary rail which was quoted at $3.5k. The owner from the second company, a successful and lovely wife/husband team, wasn't sure whether or not my stairs needed reinforcement, wasn't too sure about the timeframe in which they could complete the work, and never got back to me with a written price quote. Her verbal price quote was $2k less than John's quote. When I met John and asked about the needed reinforcement, he looked at me as if I had three heads and gently explained why it was not needed. He provided a written quote with estimated time frames early the following business week. His men arrived two weeks later to make a template of my railing thus leaving the existing railing in place. And returned approx three weeks later to install my railing. Without a doubt he over-delivered in ease, expediency and professionalism. read more

John and his crew were great to work with. We had an iron fence replaced this week. The fence was between our house and neighbor's house with foliage on both sides. We wanted to keep as much of the foliage as possible for privacy. Others who bid the project said it all had to come off prior to starting project and none could be saved. John looked at project and helped us keep one entire side of the foliage, and removed old roots, dead leaves, etc. from the other side to install fence. Fence job was very efficient, questions answered, and good suggestions made. Crew cleaned up their work area and tools, removed old rotted fence and debris. Job was complete and done very well.
