And, I'm glad he does. Our particular job was to replace an existing 20 year old extremely weathered (rotted) fence. It's a Post & Rail design that surrounds our entire property. Because the fence traced a circumference around the yard and was not a perfect square, almost every single rail required a custom angle cut. Honestly, I think I called Phil by accident but I'm sure glad I did. He came out same day and completed the repair I needed - reattached a vinyl 6' fence panel that had snapped at all four brackets. He showed up with the parts he needed, completed the work in less than an hour, and talked me through his repair work before he left. Charged me his minimum ($250) which I thought was really reasonable for a same-day repair. Phil did fine on the cedar fence but failed miserably on the gate. Installed and charged me for spring hinges which he installed then could get them to work, so back to H/Depot to buy an exterior spring which he also could not get to work. Used nails to secure the post to stucco wall and every time the gate closed (after I installed the exterior spring myself) the post pulled away from the wall causing the gate to tilt and bind. Called back after a couple months to fix and just cut the gate so it wouldn't bind. Not addressing the post pulling away from the wall. Called him back to come back to fix and after three weeks agreed to come out and fix the following week. That was on September 11th never came by, never contacted me. Phil is one of the only people you can contact for a fence repair. Every other fencing company is out here saying if you don't want to replace your entire fence to erect a new one with them, you can kick rocks. With Phil, what he says you're going to get is exactly what you're getting from both a service and price perspective. Phil was very communicative and was also one of the first people I could get to arrive on the scene to repair our fallen over fence. He brought and acquired all the necessary materials for the repair after quoting me a price and even though he had to go back to the store to pick up some missing things, didn't change the final payment price from the quote. I've had repairmen requote me after having to go back to the store because they didn't anticipate the need for something before arrival and Phil doesn't do that. He works fast, got the fence level (understandably difficult to do given the bend and bow of aged wood), and cleans up after himself without any issues. No loose nails or screws laying around for your dog to step on. Not much more you can ask for of a repairman. I highly recommend him. read more
