Based on the other reviews and my lunch visit here recently, I think Angel's is probably best for breakfast. The restaurant is non-descript, basic, with no frills and could use some cleaning... the chairs and tables are somewhat greasy/grimy The non-breakfast menu is a short list, but I was craving some good tacos and ordered the lunch taco plate. The rice and beans were boring but ok... The ground beef, however, was the worst tasting and most bland taco meat I think I've ever had anywhere, tasteless and borderline inedible. I heaped the weak salsa on those 2 poor tacos just to choke them down At least they have a decent parking lot and friendly servers read more

First time visiting Angel's but it won't be the last. They are taking COVID precautions seriously and I felt comfortable with how my food and payment transactions were handled. Distancing, barriers to protect customer and staff, and a man who came in without his mask on being required to put it on as soon as he stepped through the door. The owner washed her hands between taking cash and bringing my food as well. The veggie breakfast burrito was a great value for the price too! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! Lupe the chef/owner is wonderful - great Home-style Mexican Food, Burgers and Breakfast. Former chef at Red Onion down the street. Omelets are awesome here! My favorite is the Veggie Omelet with a side of Ham or added to the Omelet. Dee-licious! Burritos and Tacos are great and inexpensive. Nearly 2 yrs. later, and just wanted to say that Angel's is consistent and am still a big fan! Don't come to sit and dine here anymore, but still do take out. Lupe always has good quality, delicious food, and will make things just as you like them (within reason!) Lots of loyal regulars, too. The SO and I have only ever been here in the morning. Good, solid breakfast. Their breakfast burritos are great, and quite large. They are also sold across the street at Catahoula Coffee (best coffee in Richmond!) Service is always friendly and prompt. Atmosphere is pretty dated, but clean and comfortable. You can get a more Latin flavor to your breakfast, or do standard American fare. It's a neighborhood go-to spot for us. read more

The chilaquiles were good. it was served with eggs, toast, and a large thin slice of chicken breast. when we arrived at 8am, we were the only people in there(sometimes a bad sign). But by them time we were leaving several people came in for pick up orders and there were a couple other groups having breakfast. We will definitely be back soon! Great job Lupe! read more

Unfriendly service, no substitutes, even not if you're allergic to an ingredient or you can't eat it because of your religion (pork), greasy, with inflated prices for additions (remember - there are no substitutes) such avocado or sour cream. We were sent there by the superb Catahoula cafe across the street. They are not allowed to prepare food on the premises. We tried several times. We were treated with extreme rudeness and rigidity. You don't eat the default pork in your breakfast burrito? So pay extra for a substitute. The place is always very empty. read more

I ordered the breakfast burrito due to good reviews. The potatoes had a feel as if they were sitting in water and extremely bland due to no seasoning and the bacon in it were old. I could not finish it because there was a nasty taste that was left in my mouth from the bacon. The breakfast burrito was also somewhat cold. They might have had a bad day, but I definitely got the short end of the stick on this one. read more

We love this place!! The service is always fantastic and the food is delicious! Chorizo breakfast burritos are huge and filling and only 6$! The home made chips are good too. Also, portions are large and their American breakfast is soooo delicious! Food is served hot in about ten minutes. The ladies that work here are friendly and helpful. Service is so fast. I am addicted to Angel's breakfast burritos and english muffin sandwichs. Whew, I got that confession out of the way. The breakfast burritos, espeically the chorizo, is deee-licious! The potatos are creamy and seasoned, The cheese is generous, eggs tasty and the chorizo spicy and delicious. I messed around and got the sausage english muffin sandwich and the egg was cooked to perfection. It was a medium, sunny side up egg. So I tasted the creaminess of the yolk without it running everywhere (which I wouldn't have minded at all). Overall I dream about this place. And I talk myself out of stopping there every morning for my fix...I need help. read more
