I ordered a steak sandwich and what I received was a joke. It was two steak slices, each the size of my thumb with mayo. When it came to the table, I had to take a picture with my finger in the photo for scale because I knew no one would be believe it. The waitress must have seen me take a picture of it and came over and said "I'm sorry, that's on a hotdog bun, it's usually twice the size ". She took a picture of it to because it was do ridiculous. She was awesome!! The waitress comped me a dessert. I was shocked but a manager never came over, nothing. I paid $23 for two slices of steak on a hotdog bun. My daughter and I went to dinner and it cost me $120 with tip. If it were not for the waitress, I would have given it a 1 because a zero is not an option. How many people did that meal pass before it got to me that would have stopped it from leaving the kitchen? The chef, the expeditor, the owner - he was there at the pass and let out leave too. 3.5 - Came here for dinner. First we were seated outside, which was nice but sooo quiet you could hear a pen drop. They had live music and we were here on a bachelorette trip so we wanted some fun vibes. We asked to move inside and they let us. It was much better with the music - so good! This place is interested because the prices reflect a higher end seafood spot but the interior and vibe are more laid back. For example, the chairs are cold metal ones. We had Jenny as a waiter and she was very sweet. We ordered the blue fish crab dip which was yummy, I do wish they had crackers instead, it was a little hard to dip the bread. My family of 3 came to eat after checking into our villa at Hawks cay at 7:30pm on a Wednesday. The parking lot was pretty empty and once inside the restaurant reflected what we saw outside. The hostess was pretty shocked that we didn't have reservations and rude about the fact that we didn't. Given the fact that it was Wednesday, completely dead, and we were a table of 3 ( 1 of which is a child) the rudeness was definitely uncalled for. I still can't believe they turned 3 of us out of an empty restaurant on a Wednesday with no explanation other than you have no reservation. read more

Ambience was confusing and chaotic for a restaurant at the entrance of a family-friendly resort. In about 90 minutes we heard everything from Zootopia and Christmas music to Tool/System of a Down, plus a loud live acoustic set. It was Christmas Eve at 5:45 pm, and the vibe felt mismatched and overwhelming. Food was hit or miss. The tuna tartare tower was excellent. Fish & chips were decent, but the coleslaw portion was comically small. The prime rib special was bad enough to send back -- dry, tough, unrendered fat, instant mashed potatoes, and broccoli drowned in sauce. Jasmine rice was mushy and inedible. Drinks were great: Lazy Lychee, Golden Hour, and the cigar-smoked bourbon old fashioned. Our daughter loved the non-alcoholic Marathon Mojito. Service was 5 stars -- our server was fantastic and saved the experience. Bottom line: great cocktails and service, but the food quality and chaotic atmosphere killed the vibe. read more

We stopped in for dinner while staying next door at resort. Busy when we arrived. We had a reservation but instead opted to sit at bar in last 2 seats. Bartender made great drinks us and we started with an order of yellowtail ceviche. Really good & fresh. Served w wonton chips and limes. We split a cheeseburger and fries that was good but nothing spectacular. With one appetizer and the burger we were full. Pricey but great value. Food was good, staff was really friendly, but they recently updated their menu so the items recommended on Yelp aren't available anymore (crab cakes, lobster Mac and cheese, etc). The prices are also higher than the menu I looked at online. There were more drink options on the menu than food. I thought we were missing a menu. (And the Yelp website link isn't accurate). Our dinner experience was top-notch, and Emily truly made it exceptional, she was warm, attentive, full of great recommendations, and incredibly understanding of my severe dairy allergy, which I really appreciated. I ordered the "Summer Vibes" drink special and my boyfriend had the Angler's Punch, both delicious. We started with the mussels, which were fantastic and reminded us of the ones from Bonefish, flavorful and fresh. The standout for me was the tempura lobster: light, crispy batter with incredible texture. I didn't know what to expect, but it ended up being my favorite dish of the night. We also shared the market catch of the day, which my boyfriend couldn't stop raving about. We'll definitely be back on future trips to and from Key West, this time we're staying at Hawks Cay, but it's well worth the detour. We hoped to sit outside and enjoy the live music, but seating was full when we arrived at 7:15 on a Sunday, totally understandable given how popular the place is. We had reservations for this restaurant at 8:15pm on a Thursday night. We arrived on time and were seated promptly. We then waited quite a long time before someone came to take our drink order. The wait staff did appear to be short staffed. We ordered quickly but from there we waited over an hour to receive our food. During that wait our waitress did not stop by our table to check if we needed refills (we did) or to update us on our wait or give us any indication as to when we might receive our food (a flatbread pizza and a pasta dish for the 4 of us). When the food did finally arrive, it was hot and tasty. The waiter who delivered our food did apologize for the wait and we ultimately received a discount on our food (which we appreciate). We understand that things happen and restaurants can fall behind, especially if short staffed. If the service had been more attentive- had some one stopped by occasionally, noticed our empty drinks, or just told us they would check on our food, I would be more forgiving. However, based on our experience we will not be back. read more

This place is super cold bring your coat !! It is also very loud in here. They don't have mint or chamomile tea. They have a sort of black teas and a lemon tea. The yellowtail blackened. Very good and the mango and rice was a good combination. I had a 6 ounce lobster tail that was very tasty. I also had the loaded baked potato which I had to send back once because it wasn't hot. I highly recommend that if you don't like nacho cheese, make sure you order this without cheese. When I got it the first time there was a liquid cheese on it. When I received an actual hot potato, the second time I asked for it without the runny cheese, and it tasted so much better. I ordered the angler mud pie they said they were out of it so then we got the salted caramel cheesecake. The service here is absolutely terrible. They did have a party however, from the time we finished our meal, it took forever for our way to come back and check on us. I had to ask 2 to 3 different people to the dessert and get our bill. From my experience here tonight I would not eat here again, nor would I recommend this restaurant. The food is average. The service is horrible and it's freezing in here. read more

Stopped in last night after a long day of traveling. We are staying at Hawks Cay Resort and it was very close. Positives- our waiter was excellent and our drinks were great. Negatives: conch fritters were not good and my Grouper entree was awful, so awful I could not eat it. Tasted like leftover, microwaved fish. I was so disappointed! Both of my friends enjoyed their meals, but my bill was over $100 (some of that was for my drinks which again were good). My opinion, stick to the basics, pizza, sandwiches, drinks. read more

The restaurant was nice and the view of the marina was great. I was not very satisfied with my food or service. The manager did offer a discount because my steak was over cooked, which was much appreciated (excellent management) but my vegetables were very tough and had a flavor I didn't like and the potato was underwhelming. Kids Mac and cheese was fantastic. The bartender was great and accommodating. We were there with three little kids which for some restaurants seems to be an inconvenience. It seemed like seating other guests first was more of a priority even though the restaurant was empty (we got there right when it opened) and we had to find our waiter to get the check after our meal. I might try this restaurant again and order something different, but the prices were a bit high for the quality of food. read more

We had high hopes for this spot for our latest family vacation, but sadly, as a family, we agree it's awful every time and we are not eating here again any time soon . We have been booking harbor village condos and visiting Hawks Cay for over 25 years and this restaurant is subpar. Fried pickles and conch fritters to start, the pickles were fried beyond recognition. The conch fitters were ok. The table had multiple cheeseburgers, a short rib cheeseburger, multiple fish tacos, and a chicken sandwich. Once again the burgers were overcooked and dry, the chicken sandwich was ok, the fish tacos were pretty good but needed more spice for blackening. We requested no onions on the burgers and they had lots of onions. The server was trying but we were 20 minutes in to get drinks and an hour plus on for dinner. This is a fast casual place. Why so long? Our son and daughter in law had to leave with the baby before the rest of us were finished. Not coming back on the next trip to Hawks Cay. We would rather drive 15 minutes off property than face this bad food. Dining options are all American with local seafood. A full bar is available along with indoor and outdoor seating options. read more

Beautiful location! The staff was nice, the golf cart ride from Hawks Cay was fantastic, and the ocean breeze was priceless. We really enjoyed our dinner here and had a great time. I knocked a few points because of the cost, my meal, although a good size was over $70. Probably the most expensive meal I've had outside of my wedding! But mainly, I was disappointed in the smokey flavor of my filet and all the meat this restaurant served us. I've never had a filet so smokey, I'm not sure if it's just how they cooked it or if they added the smoke flavor to it, but it made it taste exactly like every other meat I tried while here, just a different texture. We sat outside on the deck and it was beautiful. Not a ton of food choices but what we had we liked. Drinks were good.

We came on a Wednesday night and had a reservation for 3 people. We were greeted right away and the host asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside. We chose outside. We could tell the outside was more popular, but the host was able to find a table and he quickly cleaned it for us to get seated. My review is in no way a reflection on him, as he was wonderful. Our server, however, is the reason for my review. We sat there for a bit, I would say about 10 minutes before someone else acknowledged us. A tall male, with light brown hair, and an accent came up to us with this question "Where did you guys come from" also he then proceeded to accuse us of bussing the table ourselves and taking a check from the table? That was the impression we all got until the host ran up to him and gave him the previous tables receipt. "OH" he says. But then with very, very little enthusiasm asked us if we "wanted drinks or something" and also informed us if we get anything at the bar it will be quite the wait. This guy at this point was completely rubbing me the wrong way and probably because I used to be a server myself, I knew exactly that he was taking whatever frustrations he was having that day out on us. I ordered my drink and he then stops me dead in my tracks informing me that the bar is out of some of the ingredients and if they were to make it, it would only be two out of the four ingredients. I then jokingly asked if I would get a discount, and he rolled his eyes and said "NOPE" so instead of going back and forth about a expensive cocktail I just went with a choice that I knew they probably had in stock---a miller lite. This server then kind of roasts me about that choice saying something along the lines of a miller lite being better than most bar drinks anyway. Not sure if this was supposed to be a fun little joke, but let's just say it didn't hit. After he took our drink orders and an appetizer order, my group was just baffled at this guys attitude. We were just----shocked that he was kind of a jerk. Anyways, as suspected our appetizer came before the drinks. Once he finally handed us our drinks, we then placed food orders. Again, what I ordered had ingredients missing. At this point I was fully annoyed. While I agree it's good to tell us that certain food and drinks items were 86-ed, it was totally his attitude the entire time that just made this whole experience awkward and unenjoyable. Every time I asked this guy a question I was met with the most obnoxious sarcastic response. I ended up ordering my back-up meal and that was that. I will say the food was pretty good. Not remarkable, but pretty good. When our checks arrived, I gave the guy 15% which for me is insult because I normally tip 30%+ (remember I said I was a server). It was yucky to tip so low, but I know most people wouldn't tip at all which I think in this instance this guy would have deserved. But my integrity wouldn't allow a 0% tip so I went with the bare basic minimum. If it wasn't for this guy, I would have rated the place a solid 3.5 to 4. read more

Overall good food, but very overpriced for the setting (prices would imply fine diner, but more of a casual family restaurant). I think the prices are high because it's within the Hawks Quay resort. That said, we did have a good experience, and the food and service were fine. But just not up to the prices (even compared to the several other restaurants in the area). Absolutely the best seafood I've EVER had. The preparation is amazing and our server Ralph was the sweetest- he recommended the Meunière for my salmon dish + the chocolate muse. Both were to die for and my favorite out of our entire party's meals. Second favorite was the French Mahi Mahi!! The whole place was super cute. At first glance, we felt it wasn't the most formal spot. But it was super fitting and very picturesque. Outside is even cuter with lights, greenery, and nice boats to look at. We thought there was a shop in the same building based on the marquee sign, but it turned out to be a super small fishing retail spot. Still nice to check out. The best restaurant we've eaten at in the mid-keys! New menu spring 2025 vs pics on yelp, and much better than their Yelp rating in my opinion. We sat outside on the deck just prior to sunset for our dinner, and it had both a great view of the small harbor and bay, and excellent food; you normally only get one or the other. My wife and I had fresh seared Grouper with the tropical salsa and Mahi Mahi with piccata sauce, and both were fabulous. Went to the restaurant at 9:20 with a party of two. The manager walked up and locked the front door and refused to let us in to order food when the restaurant closed at 10:00.
