Today we had our worst meal in Florida. Husband ordered the Catch of the Day which was Grouper. $45. The fish was so overcooked it was inedible. My wings were undercooked and rubbery even though I asked for extra crispy and my Greek salad was equally pathetic. It was just bad food. Not one ounce of care went into the preparation. I'm searching for something nice to say about the food but cannot. Of course when most of our meals were left on our plates and we didn't want a box the server asked if the food was ok. We got there about 5:45 on a Wednesday, had to wait 20 minutes for a table. I was not impressed with the ice tea or the pinot gregio. Service was 5*. I ordered the Churrasco skirt steak medium rare. The taste was quite good. A few parts were very rare, a few parts were done medium well, but most of it was as ordered. The rice tasted good, but was not very warm at the time it was delivered to the table. The onion rings looked really good, but the taste was lacking. I give the rings 3*s. My wife has the Ahi Tuna dinner. She gave it 5*s. Large portion. Great taste. Very good sauces. The worst part of the experience was payment at the end. Yhey shove a screen in front of your face with the server standing over you as you are asked to pick a tip percentage. There is no breakdown of what the charges are or how the tip is calculated. There was an option for a printed receipt, which I selected, but never got a receipt. If my wife had not been so happy with the tuna, I would have given them 3*s. read more

This is a fun little roadside sports bar with great food. We ordered the club sandwich and the mahi BLT. Both very hearty portions and the fries were hot and delicious. The outside seating is fun with the thatch roof and highway decor, but there is quite a bit of road noise since you're right next to the highway. Worth a stop on your way through the Keys! read more

We were here for Happy Hour. Monday-Friday 2-5 pm. Lots of $7 appetizers and drinks $3-7. Such a good deal! We also got $11 key lime pie. It was a generous portion with whipped cream on the side. A small, divey place with good food. read more

Great little bar and restaurant! We enjoyed a very stiff Caribbean Rum Runner before ordering our dinner. My lovely wife had their fish dip which she definitely had to share with me. OMG so delicious and smoky. Then she had their Coconut shrimp app. which I was told was fantastic. I had their 1/2 pound of cold shell on shrimp with horseradish sauce. The shrimp were fresh and so flavorful then I enjoyed the 1/2 pound mushroom and Swiss burger with fries. They ask how done you'd like it cooked and it was perfectly cooked how I asked. Rare and bloody MMMMM! The fries were seasoned perfectly and soft inside. Then the BEST part of our meal was their Key Lime pie. The best I'd say around! The whole place is warm and cozy and clean. The SS wreak is a tourist destination, although there were some locals in there. The place was packed with people standing room. Only the service was not that great. The food was it passed for food. I know when I go back up to the keys I won't be going here. read more

After a morning at the Dolphin Research Center nextdoor, my family and I wanted lunch before leaving the Keys. Lucky for us, S.S. Wreck & Galley Grill was mere steps away and had something for everyone to eat. I got the catch of the day (mahi) grilled Key West style (includes lemon, garlic, and thyme) on a sandwich with fries, my wife had the club sandwich (no tomato) with fries, one kid had chicken strips with fries, and the other had grilled cheese with fries. Of course, for dessert we had key lime pie. The prices are higher than other restaurants, but all of the food tasted great and the portions are huge. In particular, my wife raved about her club sandwich and the bite I tried was excellent. They key lime pie could have been a little more tart, but was still the best non-chocolated dipped version we sampled on our trip. Matt was a fantastic server. Kudos to him. read more

We were driving down to Key West and needed a break. Checked Yelp for something near by that allowed dogs. This place allowed us to bring the dog, so we stopped. Glad we did! Super friendly server who recommended the prime rib. We ordered one large one and split it. Was very good. Not really a prime rib person, but it was good. We had lots left over. The dog enjoyed the leftovers for a couple days. We tried the key lime pie too. Excellent! Was plenty for two to share. Our server said it was award winning. I am sure it is. A waiter sent us to SS Wreck when we mentioned our quest to find the best key lime pie in the keys. Out of the ones we had, this was my favorite in taste and texture. We ordered a piece to go, and I was bummed to see that it was in styrofoam. In addition to being landfill bound, Styrofoam becomes an endocrine disruptor when exposed to heat. This is not healthy... and can be dangerous to those who have a disease impacted by testosterone or estrogen. read more

Okay we are were wowed by this place as quick recommendation by Marjorie at the Dolphin Research Center of place to grab a bite... everyone at our table loved the food and cocktails! I had the burger that was easily the best burger I have had at a restaurant I have had in years. The beef they use is from Brasstown Beef, and we will be looking to get some beef from them too! BEST KEY LIME PIE EVER. We came here just for the pie and ended up buying the whole thing. It was a little pricey at over thirty dollars, but after the first bite we knew it was worth it. Tonight had the Frog Legs again, still not as good as two years ago, Onion Rings are good, and the coleslaw, you could really taste the core of the cabbage. My wife had grilled (7) Shrimp (unseasoned), unfortunately the grill must of been seasoned, little specs of black was on the (7) shrimp (assume from the grill), coleslaw (a lot of core, not very favorable), and a baked potato (plain). She was one of the best servers we have had. She was informative, anticipatory, and pleasant. I would imagine that all the staff there is good at their jobs but she really went the extra mile. We had a late lunch the food came quickly and hot. Great quality and portions for the price. It has all the trappings of a Keys Bar/Restaurant and is not a tourist trap. We have been in Keys for several days. Ate at some good high end restaurants. Loved this place. Down home, full of locals, great and diverse menu, amazing service. Kylie was our waitress. She was outstanding. Staff kept table clean of clutter. We had frog legs (six full legs), potato skins (six large potato halves stuffed), tuna nachos, fresh catch snapper, pizza and the best key lime pie in the world. The portions were huge. This is your typical casual Keys restaurant and bar. A mix of locals and tourists. The gregarious wait staff were fun and welcoming. Milly was our server. She made our experience fun and enjoyable. She guided us on the menu, which is always helpful. We started with a blackened ahi tuna filet seared rare and served with wasabi, seaweed salad and pickled ginger. When I asked Milly for chopsticks, she gave me a blank stare like she didn't know what I was talking about. I loved it. 'Never mind' I told her. Welcome to the Keys. We also started with the fire grilled oysters with butter and Parmesan cheese. They were a perfect grilled smokey and salty flavor. We should have ordered another half dozen oysters. We split a blackened grouper sandwich for our entree. I wouldn't order this again. Too light on the blackened seasoning and the filet was very small. I wouldn't get that again. Key lime pie dessert? Heck yeah I said. It was a very large slice. Could have had a stronger lime flavor but was very creamy and tasty. The graham cracker crust was perfect! We enjoyed our two cocktail lunch at SS Wreck. SS Wreck is always a stop for us when in the Keys. We absolutely love their delicious food, cold drinks, Amazing Key Lime pie, and Kimberly~the super bartender. SSW has made our fresh fish that we have caught. So delicious. I have never had a beer that was not cold or a mixed drink that wasn't delicious. I'm a Vodka girl. Most of all we absolutely LOOOVE the Key Lime Pie. The crust is buttery and so delicious. The key lime pie is creamy with a taste of lime and the whipped cream has a hint of vanilla that is to die for. We share a piece of pie because it is so big and so yummy. Gotta share the love. Genuinely delicious. Pulled over for lunch and had some of the best food I've had in the keys. The atmosphere is like sitting out on your deck enjoying a home cooked meal. The Greek salad is massive and does not skimp on toppings. The BLT Mahi was just perfection, down to its crunch. The Mahi was deep fried perfectly and was a juicy bite. A bottle of tartar sauce accompanies, making it a complete home run. Also the potato salad was cool bite to snack on. A kick of heat came from the buffalo chicken sandwich was also fried up perfectly with plenty of sauce to spare. The best part was getting their slice of key lime pie. It was so smooth and is made in house. I still can't get over the graham cracker crust. Service was phenomenal, we got to kick back and enjoy a delicious lunch. read more

This is a sports bar that is closing before the Super Bowl is over making it just a bar with a lot of TVs

Ok, some of us really liked this, however, I had an issue. I ordered the $45 catch of the day Grouper while vacationing in the Keys. Living in the Northeast, when I visit the Keys, I eat as much fresh fish as possible, especially grouper. Instead of being served a nice piece of grouper, I was served 4 end tail sections, while my mother, sitting next to me had a nice piece. I sent it back, which I almost never do. Tbe server brought the plate back and said "the chef said it was one big piece that fell apart on the grill". As you can see from the photo, this was not true. I sent it back and ordered a cheeseburger, which was excellent. read more
