Great place in the patio with our dog. Kaja, our server, was on her first night at this place. Amazing server, good food and cool view! Definitely a place to visit if you're in the area!!!

Extremely disappointing Unlike other reviews of Anglers, we found the service to be excellent. With that said the fried oysters were marginal at best. Even worse they wouldn't allow me to substitute coleslaw for French fries. There are much better options in Solomon's if you are looking for a reasonably priced meal.

Just go for the excellent hand made cheeseburger! You're welcome! (And the side salad was solid and fresh including a hard boiled egg). Great service today too!

Popped in today for lunch with a buddy. Sat outside and there were plenty of tables at noon. Service was rapid, accurate and friendly. We had the chicken cheese steak and the crab cake sandwich, both with side salad. All of it was good. Staff wore masks but not gloves. Don't think the tables were being cleaned between parties but I may have missed it.

The fried oysters were all panko breading, you could barely taste or see the oyster. The tartar sauce was bitter tasting like it was old.

Food was poor quality and overpriced. Obnoxious crowd in the bar. On the plus side, server was friendly and beer was cold and fresh.

We split the crab chowder, which was very tasty! And then I had a fried haddock sandwich with a side caesar salad. I really liked my sandwich. It was perfectly battered and fried. My husband had the crab cake sandwich and a side of the scratch corn. The crabcake was good, but the scratch corn was too greasy for our taste. Overall, the food was really good, and the water view is really nice. Great place for a meal! Side note: their cakes looked incredible, but we didn't try them this time. I would definitely consider going back for a slice of cake.

It's not very big (I counted only 11 tables), but definitely very cozy. The menu was fairly similar to some other places in the area (fish tacos are always temping, lol), but I managed to find something different. Service was a little slow, as we were part of a big rush and there were only 4 employees (2 servers, 2 kitchen). But it was worth the wait. My wife had the French toast from the Sunday brunch menu, while I had the chicken banh mi wrap. Both were very good. Since it's right around the corner from our church, we will definitely come back again.

My wife started with a Cosmo, her favorite cocktail, and said it was excellent. We shared the strawberry salad lunch special and the Popeye burger with fries. The fries were an unusual and cool wide spiral cut, and some of the best we'd ever had. The burger was wagyu beef with Boursin and spinach. The salad had a nice touch of candied walnuts. We got dessert. The flourless lava cake and the key lime pie. Both were amazing and took us to the threshold of diabetes. This has to be one of the best restaurants in the area! It's absolutely wonderful.

Everyone was friendly and we were able to be seated right away. It's right on the water, so we could see Pax River right from our booth. They offered outdoor seating, but it was almost 90 degrees out, so we opted for indoor. There was a very good selection of food items available, plus with it being Sunday, they had brunch going on as well. We decided to not do brunch; since we were going to a seafood restaurant we didn't really want breakfast foods (bacon, eggs, sausage, waffles, etc). I got shrimp tacos and my wife got the Captain's Platter (4 breaded shrimp and 2 mini crab cakes, plus sides). Meals were very good. A little pricey, but that's to be expected with seafood. Will definitely come back again. Perhaps we'll come earlier in the day on Sunday and actually do the brunch buffet.

I couldn't have been more wrong. The service was fantastic despite a busy floor, and the food was on another level. The shrimp tacos got two thumbs up, the hushpuppies with cinnamon butter were spot-on, and the chicken tenders were hands-down the best we've ever tasted--crispy on the outside, insanely juicy on the inside, and massive portions. They roast their own coffee! Wow! Yum!…read more On a weekend morning (Jun 2026), we were in the vicinity of Solomons MD, and friends said that Bugeye Grill roasts their own coffee. That got our attention! We stopped in at this bright clean restaurant on a late weekend morning, (weekdays they open at 5pm). The French-press coffee was a tasty fragrant medium Brazilian blend. The flavor was well balanced, and it was a good smooth non-acidic coffee We found it to be a creamier fragrant brew, not a darker roasty flavor. It had a lightly malty sweetness and nuttiness, characteristic of its blend of Brazilian arabica, robusta, and hybrid beans. They have different blends from time to time. They really are a full-menu restaurant terrific views of Back Creek, and a midscale-classy vibe. They focus on seafood and steaks and lobster! We saw sandwiches around $20. This time, we came for the coffee. It was luscious!

First timers on Solomon and at Bugeye Grill. I will admit that we stopped by this restaurant…read morebecause it was one of the first ones that had outdoor seating (we were visiting with a dog). The restaurant had a nice variety of dishes and specialty cocktails...I think that I was more interested in the latter. ;) Since I have not visited Solomons, MD before, I cannot comment if the prices are comparable to other places in the area. However, most of the entrees were in the $25 and up range. I thought my fish and chips (I forget the actual name of the dish) were fine, and my spouse really enjoyed the crab cake sandwich. Although I thought the portion sizes for the sandwiches and fries were fine, the serving size of the mussels seemed a bit small. However, this could have been an optical illusion because the serving bowl for the mussels was HUGE, so the amount of mussels could have appeared to be smaller than what it was. I thought the outdoor patio was great especially with a view of the water and folks going about their business. However, some may not like the setup because you are right on the main street, which can be a bit noisy especially if a lot of bikers are cruising up and down the strip. Parking was a bit of a struggle (not the fault of the restaurant). During our visit, all of the public parking lots were full. However, we visited on Mother's Day weekend so maybe there were more folks (including us ) in the area than normal. I'll admit that since this was my first time visiting the area that I'm not too familiar about the ebb and flow of parking. Overall, our server (who reminded me a bit of a young Jodie Foster) was amazing. One thing that I really appreciated was her telling us about a potential delay for the food due to a large party. Although no one wants to hear that after ordering food, I think it's nice and considerate when a server provides a heads-up so diners can adjust accordingly.
