This is the worst restaurant I've ever been to. Let me tell you why you should never go. We made a reservation in advance, as we were coming as a large group. We received a phone call to confirm the reservation, the staff member who called was very rude to us. We were told there is an automatic 18% gratuity for large groups. We were also very rudely told we cannot be loud, and we cannot move tables. We called to reserve for a group of 12 and were placed at three separate tables! When we arrived and told the staff we had a reservation, we were rudely told, "It's the three tables setup outside." as if we were supposed to know that. We were not led to our tables, we were told that our waiter would be with us shortly. We waited for an incredibly long time after we ordered, someone got a side salad after about half an hour and no one else got food (even though other people also ordered salads). After 1hr15mins we finally started getting our food. Coleslaw tasted spoiled and gross - basically rotten. The chicken tenders were dry, tough, and we were only given three tenders for how expensive they were. Caesar salad was also overpriced for what it is and the dressing was not very good. Burger tasted freezer burnt. The mac and cheese would have been better if it were Kraft mac and cheese, it's like they just put shredded cheese over some old mac and cheese. Fries were bland. The Maryland crab soup just looked gross - it was barely any crab and just large chunks of vegetables. not a single food item we received tasted good. While it does not impact the food, there were many spelling errors on the menu. The chairs and tables outside were also incredibly uncomfortable - and we would know, as we were sitting on them for almost two hours. We had to get food after leaving this restaurant because the food was either not filling or so bad we didn't want to eat it. The cherry on top was when we got the check, and they added a THIRTY percent auto gratuity. 30%!!!! That's obscene, especially since we were told it would be 18% on the phone, and the food and service was barely even worthy of a 15% tip. We had to argue back and forth to get the gratuity removed. Ridiculous. After everything, it was ten minutes before they closed. The waiters started cleaning up around us - but they were the ones who took over an hour to get us food and then a million years as we argued about the 30 percent gratuity. When we did get the checks, the auto gratuity was still 20%. We just paid it because we were sick and tired of being there. Overall - horrible ambience, horrible service, horrible food. My biggest issue with this place is if you are aware the food may take much longer than expected, you should tell your patrons before they are seated. Stating after 30 minutes I apologize for the wait - is not ok. If I had known my hamburger and a club sandwich would have taken almost 35 minutes, I would have left. It takes 10 minutes max for a burger and a club sandwich - 2 minutes. If you know you may have people waiting for food - give them bread or something. BIG fail and never will be back. Our service was wonderful! The ambiance was amazing! The food is not great! We tried the Jamaican jerk wings which were too saucy for wings. We tried the rockfish sub two ways, blackened and fried and both times it was missing seasoning although I could see seasoning, it taste so bland. On a Saturday in the 4th of July weekend,they had one server and one person behind the bar, which would normally be deserving of grace, but there were only 5 tables with people seated. Service was incredibly slow, no refills on water ever offered, and we finished eating what we could of the food before the dipping sauce we requested was brought to the table. The Cream of Crab soup was seized- gelatinous even- to the point it was the consistency of old porridge. The mac and cheese was cold noodles with cheese on top. The French fries were at the level of quality similar to a school cafeteria. The crab cakes were not bad, but definitely not worth the $28 price. What a hidden gem serving home cooked meals. Our servers was excellent, she kept us in beers and ice water plus water for the dogs. Anglers had a nice draft beer selection with multiple IPAs. We ordered their version of bang bang shrimp and onion rings to start, both great dishes, and we devoured them. My friend and I shared the two crab cake platter (broiled) with green beans and mac & cheese as sides. Our server brought an extra plate without even asking and no extra charge. The crab cakes are traditional Maryland style, lots of lump crabmeat with little to no filler, yummy. The green beans were delicious, heathy order too! The mac and cheese is also from scratch and a traditional creamy mac & cheese, a little bland but still good. My husband ordered the fried rockfish with a side salad and mac & cheese. The side salad came before the meal and was huge! The fried rockfish was delicious and a hefty portion, no heavy batter. It was light and crispy. Our other friend ordered the broiled rockfish which he enjoyed, but his portion was 1/2 the size of my husband's, so he was disappointed. The food was so so and my waitress Cora was even more So so and here's why! I asked for a double shot of patron and she brought back a whiskey glass full of ice with patron. That's not what I ordered. I requested a re-order and plainly stated that I wanted a double shot neat in a shot glass. Cora came back and stated that the bartender asked if I wanted the previous drink drained without the ice and I said NO! It's not what I ordered. Cora brought me the drink I wanted and proceeded to say that I will be charged for an extra shot because the order changed. The location is very quaint and beautiful watching the little boats in the Marina. The sitting was great out on the deck right by the water. Lots of privacy if you get the farthest table back. Looks like An alright place at first sight theirs a nice marina next to it but when you walk in theirs not much . The quality of the food is horrible and everything thing is FROZEN EVEN THE FRENCH FRIES! The oysters tasted rotten and were horrible and the bartender was extremely rude, the overall service was horrible the kitchen was slow and the prices are very high. On our last day in Solomons this weekend, our group of 9 came here for brunch before everyone headed home. It was easy to make a reservation, and we were able to walk in and sit right down when we arrived. They had a nice table ready for us outside with a beautiful view of the water. All but one person in our group went with the breakfast buffet. She got the Crabby Omelette instead, and said it was very good with a large portion. The buffet was pretty standard, and I found the quality to be acceptable for the price. It was $12/person, and included the following dishes: -French Toast Sticks: These were definitely the frozen variety you can buy at the grocery store. They seemed a little greasy to me so I assume they were fried. I think they would have been better baked. Nonetheless, it was nice to have a sweet option on the buffet as the rest of the dishes were savory. -Sliced Potatoes: These were very well-executed! Soft on the inside with a great crispy exterior. -Cheese Sauce: This was actually pretty tasty. Went nicely with the potatoes. -Scrambled Eggs: Scrambled eggs from a buffet can get a little dicey, but these were pretty standard. No complaints. -Biscuits -Bacon -Sausage: Some thought this was a little overcooked, but I like my sausage very crispy on the outside so it was fine for me. -Corn Beef Hash: Really enjoyed this! -Sausage Gravy: Standard. -Creamed Chipped Beef: I did not get this, but others in our group enjoyed it. Anglers provided a nice meal to wrap up our weekend away. The food on the breakfast buffet is all a little heavy, and it's nothing out of the ordinary, but overall we enjoyed it. I ordered the steamed snow crab legs which came with two sides. I got the beer battered twisty fries, and a house salad. My husband got a grilled chicken sandwich with a cream of crab soup. The salad was really good, it had boiled egg slices in it. The twisty fries were awesome. I've only had those at a place in Virginia Beach, so I was excited to eat them again. The portion of crab legs was plentiful. I just didn't like the melted butter I was given. It tasted like straight melted butter. I usually add garlic and lemon and a few other seasonings to my butter when I make it at home, and I'm not sure what other restaurants add but I don't think it's just straight melted butter. It was kind of gross, so I tried adding some lemon from the slice I was given with my water, but it didn't really work well. So I just ate them with some old bay, and they were delicious. The meat slid right out most of the time, and was thick and tasty! My husband loved his cream of crab soup. Overall the food was good, prices were good, view is great, and service was good. We had eaters ranging from french fry experts, to Paleo devotees, to sophisticated seafood lovers, and there was something for everyone. The staff was fast to greet and seat us. The menu is modest in size and filled with seafood! Yum! I got the Rockfish Sandwich with Sidewinder Fries and a Truly seltzer, my boyfriend got the Haddock Sandwich and Onion Rings. The fries and onion rings were impressively good! Not greasy at all, really light and fluffy! The sandwiches were HUGE and delicious. Something about the fish batter was really flavorful, like fresh herbs or something. I loved my meal and the service was great. Our server was fast and friendly. Our bill was about $35. What a great deal for an awesome lunch. 4 Stars for sure! The only downside I saw was there are only 2 (single stall) bathrooms) that are gendered, so you may have to wait a LONG time to access the ladies room, even though the men's room is empty and they are exactly the same set up. But aside from not enough bathrooms, this place is AWESOME. Great location too. The view from outside is stunning. Loved looking at the boats on the pier at this place. Our server was a bit overwhelmed with the nine of us plus her other tables, but she was extremely friendly and very pleasant. The wine is super cheap and delicious! Only $4.50 for a pinot grigio. The open faced crab cake sandwich was super yummy. The kids split the crab legs and ate every last bite.
