Really disappointed. I know the economy is bad but this is ridiculously small for $16!! Would have been $19 had we ordered online. We have heard good things about this place and it really did not meet our expectations. Food was okay. Not sure how I feel about returning if it's like this.

Delicious food, great service, and fair prices. No complaints. Left as happy as a clam. I don't believe it's selfish to eat defensive shellfish.

Ordered to go and the order was all over the place. Ordered the catch of the day fried fish platter which was good, large serving for the price of it. The Chesapeake pasta salad was not much to write home about. Hush puppies were good though. Ordered the crabby fries for appetizer as well and...well look at the picture. Ten fries, if that, and a decent serving of the crab topping. How is this supposed to be a shareable appetizer when that portion of fries could possible feed one person as a side?

Couldn't have been happier with the service and the food! We didn't realize the hours and seemed to have the last order to pick up, but for a friendly greeting. The steamer pots (and our extra pound of shrimp) were well-seasoned and perfectly cooked. We were also really happy with the sides of mac & cheese, hush puppies, and Chesapeake macaroni salad.

Today, I wanted something different than the humdrum corporate restaurants. I stopped at a restaurant called Calvert Seafood. Having looked at their menu, I placed my order. Once I arrived home to eat my food, I pulled out the wrapped food to eat. I was turned off by seeing a greasy brown bag. I was not impressed. Instead of the onion rings placed in a container (styrofoam), the onion rings were thrown into a brown lunch bag along with 3 hush puppies. The bag was very greasy. This tells me, the cook did not bother to allow the drainage of oil from the onion rings. Seeing the onion rings lying in a greased soaked bag is a huge turn-off for me. I do not like greasy food. Presentation is everything. The po boy sandwich was not what I expected. A po boy should be full of shrimp (or whatever po boy item you select). 6 pieces of shrimp were placed on a hoagie roll which is a lot of bread. Not impressed. I remember this 1970s t.v. commercial: "Where's the beef?" In this case, where's the shrimp?" Overall, it looks like I will have to scout out another seafood take-out for some great food.

Fries that made me sick !!!

Not sure what's going on here but this was the worst 100$ dinner for 3 I ever spent called to complain about the fries and was told the owner has had many complaints and are gonna change there type of fries plus I was short 1 order of them maybe a blessing they sucked ! Not like there pictures. Beware if u use dash door. Service charge and tip are taken out. cost $21.00 to have delivered. Was told to go though door dash about missing fries. Won't have to worry about me going back to get my fries. Very small portions in all 3 platters we ordered and more bread than crab meat in the crab cakes that I had. Sad for a hometown business! My jumbo shrimp measured 1 inch REALLY

My wife ordered the fried shrimp basket, and I had the soft-shell crab dinner. We also ordered a cup of cream of crab soup. The soup looked great when it came out, with a good amount of crab meat on top, and it was very good. I would definitely order it again. Our dinners looked excellent when they arrived. I was disappointed, though, that the fried shrimp were frozen, breaded shrimp. I expected fresh, battered and fried shrimp, especially at a seafood restaurant. My soft-shell crabs, on the other hand, were lightly battered and fried and were excellent. The homemade potato salad was also one of the best I've ever had. They also had homemade bread pudding for dessert, which was a nice touch. Overall, we were a little disappointed with the shrimp, but there were definitely some things we really enjoyed. The restaurant itself is an older place and could use a little cleaning and updating. I think if they brought in some fresh seafood dishes and new specials, while keeping the homemade sides they already offer, this place could really do some business. I remember growing up when the restaurants here in Benedict were packed all the time and known for excellent food. I'd love to see Ray's Pier bring some of that excitement back. Fresh seafood, some new specials, and getting the word out could really make a difference.

Last week we went to Stoney's and the experience was... frustrating from the start…read more We waited way too long before anyone even acknowledged us. When I finally flagged someone down, she said, "Sometimes it's hard to see over the booths." Mind you--we are not short. Both of our heads were clearly visible the entire time. My friend even went to the bar to get our waitress, who absolutely had full sight of us. Eventually Stacie, comes over and takes our drink and oyster order. It's Thursday, so oysters are $0.90 (used to be $0.70, but okay). The oysters were good--we went through two dozen with no issue. But then it was right back to the same problem. Empty glasses. No check-in. No presence. We had to flag Stacie down again to order our entrée--not because she was busy, but because she was standing at the next table having a full conversation like she couldn't see us sitting there waiting. And here's the part that really needs to be fixed-- If you have items on the menu that are no longer available, that should be communicated up front. Not after someone has spent 15-20 minutes reviewing the menu and deciding what they want. Overall: good oysters, but the service completely took away from the experience. Being overlooked multiple times in one visit is not acceptable.
