Ok, I have to say, this place surpassed my expectations! I think it's officially my new favorite spot--sorry, Dave's. I got the Hangry Fix Bowl and it was soooo good! They use basmati rice, which is such a nice touch. The flavor was on point, and they definitely don't joke when they say it's spicy! The chicken was super tender and flavorful. I think the mac could be a little better, maybe a bit less soft? But the honey definitely adds something special to the overall flavor! Located in Aliso near the movie theater and Barnes and Noble.. lots of choices to eat here. Lots of parking since it's a big center. Clean inside with plenty of seating for 2 or 4. Service is good at least it was for us.. maybe they read the others reviews where other yelpers had poor customer service? Dunno.. for us it was all good. Is it like Dave's? Yes.. but different. Medium spice level is hot for me.. the honey and sauce helped cool it down.. you can get mild, no heat all the way up to OMG it hurts.. your call. Great food! it's a lot pretty big place once you're inside, they got TV's with the sport games on, good amount of seating don't think a lot of people are eating inside. Friendly workers and fast service. Lots of seating and tv's playing sports by the "bar" area. Angry Mac 5/5 Two chopped tenders with Mac & Cheese under a then crispy seasoned fries under the Mac. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our dinner at Angry Chickz tonight. The gentleman at the front ( Duece ) was welcoming and had great customer service. He delivered our food and came back again to ask how our food was (10/10 service!) The food itself was pretty tasty. It was fresh compared to fast food places, the coleslaw on the sandwhich was so different but great. We did medium heat and it was not bad at all, great seasoning. My boyfriend really enjoyed the fries and liked the sauce that came with it. Almost like a chipotle mayo but a little sweet. If you come before 9pm everything will be very great. If you come anytime after 9:30 it is likely they will be closing early and turn you away. it seems like the quality goes down because they want to close early. I have stopped by on the way home because i love their food but for some reason after 9:30 the chicken comes out cold or dry which never happens earlier in the day. sometimes even they say the fryers are off and only macaroni and fries left, no chicken. which i get but at 9:50, over an hour before posted closing? if you come earlier your food will be so good, i love it. i stopped coming in anytime before 8:30/9 because either they are out of chicken/fryers off or the quality is different and chicken is Cold. read more

Super disappointed in the service our Dasher received picking up our order tonight. Apparently Raymond the manager smelled of alcohol and laughed at our dasher when he asked where our order was. Was walking by this place and, despite my better judgement, was tempted to try the Angry-level chicken. The interior of the restaurant was super cool and the music was hip and trendy. Worker Cody had me sign a waiver online before putting in my order: An Angry chicken tender with Mac and Cheese. I got water to prepare for the challenge and waited for my food, which came out quickly. ...Guys, Capsaicin pepper is no joke. One bite and I was DYING. The spice immediately numbed my tongue and made it impossible to speak. Cody saw me struggling and came to the rescue with a cup of milk and some kind words of encouragement. I ordered a regular chicken tender with sauce right after that, which was a pleasantly delicious and refreshing after my near-death experience with the spicy monstrosity they called Angry chicken. Usually one of our favorite hot chicken spots but this time was a let down. The mac and cheese was all clumped together in one large clump. The fries were cold and soggy. Not much spice when we ordered hot - and there were maybe 5 little chicken chunks on our dish. We did a pickup order pretty late, around 830pm but this still shouldn't be an excuse as to why the food wasn't good. My husband ordered two chicken sandwiches, which he said were good flavor wise but could have been hotter temp wise. Had the chance to try their Hangry Fix, which is really just a great combination of all their sides in a bowl, and I'd have to say taste wise it's delicious and heat wise it's no slouch. I really appreciate all the different options on the menu, as it does give some great options to balance the heat. This play would be way more popular and get 5 stars out of me if everything on the menu was $1-$2 cheaper. Some of the best tasting fried chicken around and the angry mac is perfect. The regular staff that are there most hours nail it every time, the newer staff tends to be a little hit or miss like chicken that's a little chewy or not enough seasoning or too much/too little cheese. Not a ton of foot traffic, there's always seating and it's generally very clean. Hopefully this place is here to stay and they work a little harder on training their newer staff when they have turnover! read more
