Inka Mamas has always been a family favorite. They have a variety of food to choose from. Each family member ordered something different and all were great. Our favorite is still the bread with their homemade cilantro green sauce. Had just enough kick that leads you to order more complementary bread.
Arrived for dinner during OC Restaurant week on a Wednesday night and were seated immediately. There was only 1 or 2 another parties there at the time, with 2 or so coming in during our dinner. The servers were very nice and accommodating. We opted for two of their Dinner for $45 options. The salad wasn't bad, but it also wasn't exciting. The dressing had an interesting tartness to it. The empanadas were very good, although I would stick to the chicken if you don't like olives because the beef has a very strong olive flavor. They also came with a tart sauce. The saltado was good, but the chicken momma scampi stole the show. The chicken was perfectly lightly breaded and the sauce on the noodles was so good! The flan was good for desert and the lucuma ice cream was surprisingly delicious. We also poured the sauce from the flan on to the ice cream and it was great!
I stopped into Inka Mamas because I enjoy Peruvian food and there are not many places around that offer it, so when you find a good one it really stands out. This restaurant has consistently been one of the better Peruvian spots I have tried and it always feels like a treat when I come here. My favorite dish is the breaded steak. It comes out with a crisp coating, tender meat, and a side of tasty rice. The small salad on the plate has a simple vinaigrette that brings a fresh, bright flavor to the meal. Before the food arrives they bring out complimentary bread with a spicy green sauce. It has a little heat but it pairs so well with the bread that you keep going back for more. Service has always been warm and welcoming. The staff checks in at the right pace and makes the visit feel relaxed. The restaurant is clean and well kept. It sits in a town center area with plenty of shopping and activities nearby, which makes it a convenient place to bring the family. Sometimes parking can be a pain, but it's manageable. Overall, Inka Mamas is a great choice when you want flavorful and comforting Peruvian food. I highly recommend it for families, date nights, or anyone who wants something different from the usual dining options.
Craving Peruvian fare New Year's Eve and San Clemente location was closed.... Thankfully, the restaurant in Aliso Viejo was firing on all cylinders! Followed waitress recommendations for Chicken Empanadas and Pisco Sours (original) both happy hour specials for Tuesday's. Pisco Sours (Peruvian "margarita" using Pisco instead of tequila) were on point for me, slightly sour for my wife's pallet. Okay, so the Chicken Empanadas arrived hot, perhaps the best I've ever tasted, with tender chicken seasoned to perfection, Peruvian olive, hard boiled egg slice, and DELICIOUSNESS. We split an order of Loma Saltado, which did not disappoint and left with an order of melt in your mouth Alfajores (small cookies with dulce de leche inside).
Friendly service to help guide your choices. Located on the corner of a large shopping center. Authentic cuisine. Be sure to try the plantains. Good sized portions.

I really enjoyed this place! The service was super nice (shout out to Victor for answering all our questions), the ambiance was cozy, and food was great! Every table comes with some complimentary bread and butter. Then we also get the beloved green sauce (sauce of the gods) aka aji, Peruvian spicy green sauce. What we ordered: Chicken causa ($15.70) - we wanted to try something new and thought this looked interesting. It was really good.. kinda reminded me of chicken pot pie combined with an egg salad. It was delicious! I put some on top of the bread and put some green sauce and omg even true comfort! Arroz con Mariscos - another favorite dish full of flavor and sprinkles of seafood! So good. I would definitely order this again. Beef saltado - I thought this one was just okay because I have eaten at other restaurants with better versions of this (maybe because the other places were a bit more saucy). I will say though, the rice was so good! Seems like they cook it in chicken broth because it was so flavorful!! Brazil beer - can't remember the spelling of the second part of the beer name but this served in a cold glass was absolute delight. So refreshing and a good lager indeed. Lastly... aji sauce! Complimentary bottle on each table and we literally drenched EVERYTHING with it. We would probably drink straight out of the bottle if that were acceptable. Overall, great experience and great food. Victor was kind enough to answer all our questions about the ingredients and the how the flavors are created. Kinda feels like a hybrid between a fancy restaurant and a local fast food, to make fancier, I'd suggest fancier plating but aside from that I'd definitely come back for the food. I truly don't think we would go wrong with any dish. Parking is also plentiful because there's a ton of other restaurants around in a big plaza.
I love this place! I usually get the same stuff saltado de vegetales or arroz con pollo, with their house salad ( great simple oil and vinegar dressing). Both entrees have so much flavor!! But this time I ventured out!! We tried the chicken and beef empanadas, delicious! Causa with shrimp, it's really good. Imagine creamy shrimp cut in nice small pieces mixed with peas, carrots and red onions layered between 2 potato pillows and covered in a mild yellow pepper sauce. It's enough for two people to share as an appetizer. The Yucca HUANCAINA so crunchy and good also comes with the yellow pepper sauce that I can't get enough of, soooo yummy!! Service is always great and they have a lot of tables outside, perfect for summer dining!!
1/10/2024 110pm I was in the area and took one of my friends to lunch and she suggested this place. We got seated right away. The restaurant was small but nice. The servers were nice and friendly. We had the Arroz con Mariscos and individual Jalea. Both tasted great. Adding the green sauce elevated the flavors more. Would come back when I'm in the area,'would love to try the other dishes.
Was craving something a little different. Noodles were so creamy and buttery. Empanadas were good but I'm not a big fan of olives.
Inka Mama's for dinner last night was delicious! The flavors were so fresh and the chicken was incredible. We opted for the rottisserie special $18.99 which comes with half chicken and two sides. Since we shared this we chose double rice and added their half off happy hour chicharon con pollo (this was soooo flavorful and perfectly crisped! Paired perfectly with the red onions on top). I also got their Saturday happy hour special sangria which was alright. I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 5 as the service was friendly but felt overly attentive since the hostesses kept checking in every few minutes - this made me feel like I was being rushed and nagged despite there only being two other parties seated inside. Indoor seating is ample and there is a ton of outdoor tables as well for you to enjoy the fresh air. Would come back for sure
This was my first time trying Peruvian food. My mom suggested this for her Mother's Day treat. Our waitress was very friendly and checked up on us. Food: + Calamari Frito: This was one of their special and it was only $10. The calamari was very tender and had the right seasoning. I ended up dipping it in the green sauce which was amazing! + Arroz Con Mariscos: Peruvian Paella- Such huge portions! The dish came with an assortment of seafood: shrimp, scallop, squid, fish and one mussel and the rice was cooked perfectly. I also enjoyed the spice that it had and had a lot of leftover for the next day. + Tenderloin Lomo Saltado: My mom's favorite when she comes here. I tried a few bites and the meat was very tender. Also there's french fries in the dish! Overall, I'm glad I got to try this place out since my mom has been wanting for me to go. Can't wait to be back.
We rarely ever get Peruvian food, but when we do Inka is the only spot that comes to mind. We usually see them at the Taste of Aliso, and they are always sampling delicious food. Here is what we ordered: Beef Chaufa ($18.95): This is like a fried rice. It comes with sirloin and it was so chewy, almost impossible to eat. It also had bits of scrambled egg and spring onions. Kind of a basic dish and not worth the price. Mama Scampi ($24): This was really good! I really liked the sauce. It was not fishy like most scampis I have tried. It also had a little kick to it that was enjoyable. The shrimp portioning was good, but it was a bit dry. Seemed like the shrimp itself was a bit overcooked. I called in my order, and they told me it would take around 15 minutes. I walked in and was not greet by anyone. The couple in front of me seemed like they have been there for a while and were trying to get seated. They were peaking in the back door to see if there was anyone working that could help them. Someone finally came out and sat them and rang me up for my order. It seemed like my order was not even started until I had arrived 20 minutes later, so it ended up taking almost 40 minutes for my food. Overall, it everything was just average. Price was high for what you get.
I've seen Inka Mamas here over quite a few years. It's located at the Aliso Creek Towne Center close to the movie theater. It's a small little place with a nice Peruvian Themed interior and a menu with everything you'd want in the Peruvian cuisine. For starters I saw some people around having the Chicharron De Pollo which is fried chicken pieces and it looked really good so I had to find it a try. It was simple, tasty and came with some fried Yucca so you can't go wrong with that start. Now it may sound basic but I love a good Lomo Saltado (beef with fries) as it's a staple in most Peruvian cuisine. The beef was nice and tender and the sauce itself had a nice little spicy kick to it. I made sure to add a side of plantain potatoes which is always something I have to get with any Peruvian dish. Last and final dish I had to try is the Tallarines Verde with Chicken. Again, another staple in the cuisine which is the breaded and fried chicken with green basil sauce and spaghetti. I always make sure to add extra green sauce that's at the table to give it a stronger kick to it but this was another tasty dish that I certainly enjoyed. Service was good and attentive as well, and worthy of giving it a shot when in the area. read more

Such a cozy and charming Peruvian restaurant! The food is beautifully presented, and the portions are huge, definitely worth it. On my way Bach to SD, I went for a glass of Chicha morada... OMG. If you know, you know I tried the yuca and half order of jalea, both were absolutely delicious. You definitely need to experience Peruvian cuisine here! read more

Went here last night and still great. Last time I was here was during pandemic. I think they improved from last time. Well-seasoned dishes and the service is pretty nice and quick. Everything is delicious and comfy ambiance great for casual night outs. read more
Not bad, there are vegetarian options on the menu which is nice but they are not all that flavorful (kind of plain). I suppose that is not their target/best menu items though so I get it. However, whatever green sauce they serve as part of the bread appetizer was pretty tasty. Ended up putting that all over my noodles for more of a flavor add. read more
The restaurant has great natural lighting due to being on the end of the building. Very inviting. The staff there are also very friendly and warm. I was excited when my colleague suggested this restaurant for lunch. I always enjoy Peruvian food. I ordered the Saltado with beef (sirloin). They do have the option of tenderloin for an up charge. I've always had it with sirloin at other places, so I wanted to keep it consistent. Well seasoned, juicy, not too salty. The beef was great. I wish there was a little more tomato and I wish the egg was fried a little hotter so the edges were "crisped". Those two factors would have 5 starred it for me. Over all, the experience was solid. I would return again in the future and look forward to trying other dishes. read more

I adore this local Peruvian chain! The food is on the pricier side for a casual lunch, but generously portioned. Come prepared to share, or just arrive really hungry. Service is great here as well---especially because they're clever enough to start you off with free bread and AMAZING aji verde. Their aji verde is liquid gold, and goes well on most of their entrees too. Mixed seafood ceviche (4/5) was tasty and tangy, but the portion was on the smaller side. My favorite order is the arroz con mariscos/Peruvian seafood rice (5/5). It's moist, flavorful, and chock full of seafood; eats like a Peruvian paella. Our waitress suggested adding the tart ceviche juice to the arroz, and it worked like a seafood-y lemon! Definitely give this local spot a try. Quality food and bold, Peruvian flavors, without being overly gimmicky or pretentious. read more
It had been a while since we last dined here at Inka Mama's and we were passing Aliso Viejo on our way back to San Diego from the LA International Airport. It was approximately 2 hours prior to them closing so we opted to dine in and enjoy some delicious Peruvian food. We started with some empanadas (one chicken, one beef). They were served hot & savory, they weren't dry like many other empanadas we've tried at other restaurants. Then we shared a Chaufa Combinado (Peruvian fried rice sautéed w/beef, chicken, shrimp, peas, carrots, scrambled eggs, ginger, black bean sauce, red bell peppers, and green onions) and it was delicious and just the right portion for us to share. Had we both ordered an entree each, it would've been far too much food for us, and we would've had to take the leftovers home. I believe this was our first time ordering their Chaufa Combinado and were quite pleased with it. This restaurant also accepts AMEX cards, a plus for us as it's our payment of choice. read more
Located in a large plaza, this little restaurant has a warm, cozy interior with a handful of tables and a patio which provides more seating outside than inside. I had lunch here. There isn't a separate lunch menu so prices are the same no matter when you eat your meal. I ordered the traditional Peruvian plate of lomo saltado and a chicha morada to drink. The chicha morada is made in-house. It's a Peruvian drink made from purple corn and is concocted in different ways but Inka Mama's does it the best way, with a hint of cinnamon. It was really good and the best I've had at any Peruvian restaurant outside of Peru. The lomo saltado was disappointing. The beef was a bit tough and not very plentiful. There were hardly any tomato slices or fries but far too many pieces of onion. The ingredient proportions were just way off, not that flavorful, and meager for the price. Service was prompt and attentive. Prices were way too high, maybe double what they should be, which is reflective of the high rent these stores have to pay to exist in this plaza. There are better choices for a good Peruvian restaurant in south OC but this will do in a pinch if you're stuck in Aliso Viejo. read more
Visited this restaurant Mother's Day week after visiting the one in Lake Forest in which I wasn't really impressed; especially since I'm familiar with a similar Peruvian restaurant in La County that I'm extremely fond of. Nonetheless i extremely loved the dish that I ordered and my sister enjoyed hers too! My sister and I decided to eat here in the Aliso Viejo center since we were planning on going to the movies afterwards. Be-it that we were tight on time to get to the movies; our server really did a good job making sure that we were served timely and out in time to not be late for our movie. Lastly I really liked the ambiance at this facility and it was just an overall great experience. read more

The server was friendly but she didn't quite get our order correct. We received samples of drinks and sample soup due to the long wait. Improvement on: Remembering what the customer order, so that the cook is aware of what the customer ordered. Having a customer wait, assuming you listened correctly to what they order isn't good customer service. A business that wasn't busy shouldn't have problems with customer service. Overall the food was delicious. read more

Inks Mama's is great if you're trying to get that Peruvian food fix. It's a little on the pricier side, especially if you go during lunch time like I did, but the food is pretty tasty. I ordered the Pollo Saltado and it was a very large portion, and everything was very flavorful! We also ordered the empanadas and they were tasty, but for the size/price I probably wouldn't get them again. Overall a good restaurant, good service, and good food! read more

Hmmmmm $32 for a sliver of meat and a half tomato and onions . I think not. Done with this location. Would have been better off ordering Lomo without the fries . Sad day read more

Peruvian cuisine is a multicultural fusion of indigenous Peruvian cuisine with influences from European, African, and Asian cultures over the past several hundred years. It is by far one of my favorite cuisine. I love Inka Mamas. Their service is always curious and swift and their food is amazing. They have several locations across Orange County, and I think their food is pretty consistent across the board. Some of my favorites include: Chicken or beef Saltado: a delish rice plate served with sautéed onions, tomatoes, cilantro, French fries, soy sauce and garlic. Chicken Chaufa (chicken fried rice): I know this sounds basic, but for an Asian who loves fried rice, I'll have to say that Peruvian style fried rice can stand up against any Chinese style fried rice. Chicken breast , scrambled eggs, green onions, ginger, black bean sauce and soy sauce Tallerines Verdes with Chicken: One if my favorite pasta-ish dish. Garlic breaded chicken breast served with spaghetti on a bed of spinach and basil cream sauce and parmesan cheese. Calamari Fritos: Crispy fried calamari - always a go to for our starter dish. read more
This review is long overdue! My husband and I have been coming here for years, and love bringing others, too. The food is authentic and FULL of flavor. Best ceviche I've EVER had. The Estofado with steak is my favorite entree. Staff is always friendly and helpful. It does get a little busy, so a reservation wouldn't hurt. Food is maybe a little pricey (but you're eating out), but the portions are LARGE! Would highly recommend for delicious you can't find anywhere else! read more
