    Ji Pai Combo

I ordered the Ji Pai combo that comes with the curly fries, bread, coleslaw and the drink and it was so good! The chicken was crispy and juicy and the sauce (spicy sauce) was a good touch to it! I also got the sweet potato balls and those were delicious as well. They have kiosks inside where you can order and it was a fairly quick process to order and receive my food!

This place is a Taiwanese fried chicken restaurant and is a different style of fried chicken that is softer and less crunchy. It is much less heavy and does not make you feel too lethargic after. You order at the tablet and pick up at the counter. Very chill and casual spot with friendly staff are fair prices.

Ordered the J&G popcorn chicken and spicy sauce. The popcorn chicken was crispy and the meat was real chicken meat (I think chicken thigh). The taste with the spices was yummy as well. Fast service. Ambiance: easy to find spots to eat and sit at

A mentor friend had treated us to this place. We came at a time when it was really busy - the line was long and it was noticeable that the place was understaffed. The food is as expected for what the restaurant represents - a little elevated fast food place. It's definitely geared towards the younger generation. I wish there was more support and inside seating area. There's great potential! Still - thank you all+

We were so excited to try the popcorn chicken from J&G Fried Chicken after noting the great reviews and high ratings advertised on their screens as Taiwan's best fried chicken. Sadly, we were disappointed to see that their popcorn chicken was not traditional Taiwanese popcorn chicken. It was missing the chili spice powder and fried basil, and the fried coating was thicker than the traditional version. Our chicken was good, but I wouldn't consider it to be Taiwanese popcorn chicken. Maybe the actual shops in Taiwan are much better and authentic.

We ordered the popcorn chicken combo the chicken was super tender and juicy, and the fries were perfectly crispy. Loved it! The service was great too. Seating inside is limited, but no worries there are plenty of outdoor seats in the plaza. Super convenient to grab while shopping. Such a foodie way to enjoy your day!

Located conveniently in Irvine Spectrum, J&G Chicken is a perfect quick bite to get while you're shopping. The restaurant is small and doesn't have many tables, but there's plenty of tables outside and the service is quick. It's my first time having a Taiwanese chicken chain, and I didn't know what to expect but they delivered. I liked how the chicken bites were marinated in a sauce that really seeped into the chicken. The flavour was delicious, but most importantly everything was so juicy and crispy! I got the chicken tenders and the juice flowing out was crazy. Paired with the perfectly crunchy and seasoned curly fries, there wasn't a lot to complain about. The sauces are also pretty good, not too spicy if you care to give it a try.

Got the popcorn chicken and oyster mushroom. I gotta say, it was pretty dang good. I don't crave popcorn chicken ever but this one I could imagine craving. Something about the spices was delicious. Maybe the white pepper? I wish it had basil though... then it would've been perfect. The oyster mushrooms were like little nuggets of deliciousness. Cut into cubes and fried with a similar batter and similar spice profile. A bit of peppery heat but not intense. Chili packets on the side to amp up the flavors and spice but wasn't very spicy. Sweet and sour sauce was whatevs but the j sauce was pretty good! Order at a kiosk but be sure to write down the number, not your name! Inside was clean and small. Ate outside at the tables around the mall.

Got the popcorn chicken-very flavorful and crunchy, just the right amount of spices. Super tender too Also got the fried oyster mushrooms. Also a hit! Fried the same way as the chicken. The mushrooms were diced which gave a nice crispy exterior and soft chewy interior Chili packets were available on the side which had a good flavor, mild spice. Would go back to try other things Order at the kiosk and grab a buzzer which was fast. Didn't have a wait.

What a waste of calories. The food here is not great. The texture of the popcorn chicken isn't the same as typically popcorn chicken. It seems it was just coated the same as the chicken tenders. The flavor in their batter left a weird after taste in your mouth. Was really disappointed. Also the staff here all look so miserable like they hate their jobs. The ordering is done on a kiosk. We ordered a tea and added boba. When the drink didn't come with boba, my daughter went to inquire about it. And the response was "there's no boba". Like hello, it says add boba on the receipt. Other people before us had boba, so what do you mean? What the staff member should have said was "I'm sorry we ran out of boba". We found out that's what she meant when someone else asked a question about their drinks.

Popcorn Chicken with J&J Spicy Sauce and Spice packets

I wanted to try J&J Fried Chicken after hearing about its opening at the Spectrum, so we stopped by to check it out. We ordered the popcorn chicken, which was pretty average overall. It tasted fresh and was fried decently (just with not much batter, Taiwanese style), but nothing particularly memorable. I went with the J&J spicy sauce which added some flavor, though it still needed more heat. Luckily they have extra spice packets at the condiment station, and those definitely helped enhance the flavor. Overall, it's a convenient option if you're already at the Spectrum, but not somewhere I'd go out of my way for.

Popcorn Chicken w/ their signature sauce
    Brian N.

Wanted to try this spot while walking around the Spectrum, so I ordered the regular-size popcorn chicken with their signature sauce. Pros: The chicken was good quality. It wasn't rubbery or mushy and had a nice texture. I ate it right away, so it was still moist. I also liked that they included spicy powder packets to add extra flavor. Cons: It didn't have a deep crispiness and overall lacked flavor. Thankfully, the spicy powder helped. I also felt that the signature sauce didn't really complement the chicken very well.

I had a blast getting the chicken. Tendents it was so delicious I would live on the stuff. I find the service fast and simple. The place is packed and you know its good when you see many people coming and out. Try the chicken pop it's worth the taste buds. The place is a chill spot and it's clean.

There was a crowd of people waiting outside so I was a bit nervous that it would take really long. But we added our name to the waitlist on the iPad outside and we were sat in less than 30 minutes (when we went on the list, we were party 13). The wait went by super fast! By the time we finished our meal, there were lots of open seats. I first heard of this place as a "copycat Din Tai Fung". I actually think it's better to think of this place as another Taiwanese restaurant that serves similar food to DTF, but not a copycat. Although some of the popular items are the same (XLBs for example) the restaurants are definitely different. Firstly, the service here is SO FAST. And all the servers were really kind! We ordered our food and it felt like everything came out within MINUTES of each other. By the time we had all our savory dishes, I had only taken one bite out of the first dish. That's how fast it was! Haha We ended up ordering: Spicy XLBs, Beef Roll, Golden Prime Beef Noodle Soup, and Taro XLBs for dessert. Everything was DELICIOUS! My husband's favorite was the Beef Roll, while I think my favorite may have been the soup. The Spicy XLBs (4/5) were great! They felt quite large as I ALMOST had to eat them in two bites (but like why would I ever do that). Flavor was great and I thought there was actually very little spice in these. Compared to DTF'x XLBs, I thought these were just as juicy, but less ginger-forward (which made it feel less flavorful), and more sweet. I was personally missing some acid and wanted a bit more salt cuz it was a tad sweet. The Beef Rolls were pretty good too (4.25/5)! Nice and crispy. Even though it's pan fried, it felt light because of the vegetables. And I know this is weird to say, but the combination of beef, hoison sauce, and veggies almost tasted like pho flavors...but crispy? Yummy! I personally again wanted a bit more salt. But I'd definitely order again. Now for my favorite, the Golden Prime Beef Noodle Soup (4.5/5). WOOWWEEE! She's spicy! And I have a good spice tolerance so beware. I really loved the flavor of the broth. It was spicy and also had a really clean flavor. It looked like it would be a watery broth but WRONG! It was so flavorful. I loved the chewy noodles too and even the noodles on their own were spicy cuz they clung onto the broth. A really delicious soup! I'd love to eat this on a cold winter's day or when I'm sick. Delicious! The Taro XLBs (3.9/4) were pretty good too, but skippable. They weren't too sweet, which was nice. They had a lovely consistency and good taro flavor. But compared to everything else, they weren't that special. Overall, a really delicious restaurant! I'd definitely come here if I was craving XLBs/Taiwanese food.

We waited one hour on my visit, but that is to be expected as the restaurant is quite small. Beef Rolls (5/5): We got two orders of these, and it was our favorite for a reason. Crispy and flaky wrap on the outside and it was packed with flavor. It was very satisfying to eat! Scallion Pancakes (3.5/5): They were plain but that is to be expected, I didn't taste much scallion. It needed the sauce of course! Spicy Wontons (4/5): These are solid and the chili oil does pack a lot of heat. I would say they are on the spicier side, just wish there was a little more depth to it. Seven Grams XLB (4/5): Juicy and flavorful! Not the absolute best I've had, but still worth ordering. Golden Beef Noodle Soup (5/5): This bowl right here was amazing. Green leafy kale paired with the extra hearty soup was what made this bowl a standout dish for me. 100% would order this alone! Mapo Tofu (5/5): Yummy silky tofu cubes with the minced meat sauce were delicious in every bite! I had no other complaints, but this dish gets very filling easily. Seriously, this place is one of my favorite places in Tustin. The service one inside is efficient, and the ambience is a bit noisy and packed, but this place is popular for a reason. I'll definitely revisit this spot when I get the chance.

The restaurant itself is a bit on the small side so you'll be close to your neighbors not that it was an issue personally. My buddy and I ordered our items and shared with each other for a good full experience. We got the three-in-one noodles medium heat and the Ma Hu Beef noodles with mild heat alongside the cucumbers with medium heat as an appetizer. Cucumbers were very fresh! However, they really were just cucumbers with a little heat on them so they weren't anything too special. Once the main entrees came in, I couldn't stop myself from digging in! I forgot to take a picture until after some damage was done to our meals. Three-in-one was so flavorful and sweet with the noodles becoming incredibly soft after having mixed it all together. The star of the show for me though was the Ma Hu Beef noodles. The beef was remarkably tender and delicious and the noodles had a firmer texture that complimented with the flavors. Oddly enough, the mild heat on the Ma Hu Beef was spicier than the medium heat three-in-one! If you find yourself in the mood for Biangbiang noodles, this is definitely the spot to go to. On a side unrelated note about the parking which did not influence my review; the parking here is rough. It's consistently packed so watch out for that. There is a structure across the street that allows parking for the food court. I parked in the structure but I had a bad experience because since it's also parking for the residents above, the gate was closed on us after 8pm. I had to wait for a vehicle to come out and open the gate for not only just me but for multiple other people that had also parked in the structure!Just something to keep in mind. Order up (4 stars for their food): - Pork Chop with Braised Pork Belly Rice (not pictured...my husband said it was just a tad sweeter than what he's used to, but he still enjoyed it!). - Combo #8. Old Fashioned Noodle with Bafang Pork Chop (great flavor and perfect chew on the noods for me. The pork chops were so tender and juicy!). Saw someone order the Beef Noodle Soup...super huge! I heard their dumplings are what they're known for in Taiwan, so I'll have to try that for next time. Yes, I'd still come back since the food didn't disappoint. LOL! CHEERS and happy eating till next time...

I have my regular dishes but I have pretty much tried a little of everything because I like to come with my girlfriends, work friends, and large date night groups. The ladies who serve us are so sweet, they always serve with a smile and go the extra mile when I bring new friends! I don't want to give my secrets away but the best time to go to Yoo's is right when they open or the off hours, so you can fully immerse yourself in the Korean food goodness!

There is nobody else standing in line outside and the owner comes outside to tell me 2 times that I need to wait 30-40 minutes. I told her there is no waiting in front of me, and that it should be first come, first serve. She says no, you can only sit on tables for 1 person and it will be a 30-40 min wait for that. I said okay, but if there is no line and people are done eating with empty tables it should be fine, right? There is a waitlist, and that it should go in order. She said no, you can only get seated on tables for 1. Then she proceeded to say it's a 30-40 min wait again as if I didn't already know that for the second time. I told her i'd wait, but now i'm feeling bad and don't know if she even cares to earn my business. It's my 5th time coming here, and unfortunately this place was one of my favorite Korean restaurants and since I'm from out of town I make sure to visit each time I am in the OC. I'm not sure if I want to continue coming back here if service remains this way. It's embarrassing enough to come alone, it's even worse when you're called out in front of people inside of the restaurant while there are only 3 people waiting outside. When I got seated she didn't even give me a menu and asked me what I wanted. Lucky for her i'm Korean and was already a repeat customer from the early days so I was able to order right away-otherwise how could I order? God forbid I ask for any recommendations on the menu... 1 star well deserved for this. Congratulations this is the first time I rated a fellow Korean restaurant 1 star. There is a first time for everything I suppose.
