Chill spot with a great mountain-town atmosphere. They have an excellent selection of beers, with plenty of variety whether you're into crisp lagers, hoppy IPAs, or something more adventurous. The staff is incredibly warm and welcoming, which really adds to the experience--they're happy to offer recommendations and make you feel right at home. It's also dog-friendly, which is a huge plus if you're traveling with a pup. Perfect place to kick back, have a few beers, and soak in the Blue Ridge vibes.

Angry Hops is a dog-friendly brewery in Blue Ridge. I love that I can take my pup inside. They don't have a huge inside space, but they have some seating, and they have plenty of seating outside too. The staff who were working when we went were really nice. It was fairly busy when we went on a Friday at 3:00. My husband and I shared a flight of beer: two IPAs, a lager, and a sour. The sour and lager weren't our favorite, but the IPAs were solid. My husband is a picky craft beer drinker, and he said we will definitely go back when we are in Blue Ridge again. I think they had some games such as corn hole on the side of the building, which could be fun. They have a small parking lot out front, but they also have a large parking lot to the side of their building, which is really nice.

Behind the bar inside, note the beer menu.

First visit, they are located just off the main downtown area. The place is fairly small, but they have a huge selection of their fresh brewed beer. I had the "Hell Awaits" IPA and it was excellent!

Happy to stumble upon Angry Hops during a recent visit to Blue Ridge. The bartender was so friendly, the space is small but plenty of seating and stuff to do for the kids (which is a plus) and the beer was fantastic. I opted for a sour and an IPA. Both very clean and refreshing on a 100 plus degree day. You can bring food from nearby (I recommend OscarChili's next door) and expect to have wide variety of beers to choose from. I will be back in the area in a few months and will definitely be spending some afternoons here.

My husband and I love brewery hopping. This one hit the spot on many levels. Small and quant with nice outside seating. Sadly the day we came it was cold and rainy but we still enjoyed the beer flight. We are IPA fans so we enjoy several of theirs. We were glad to find them in Blue Ridge.

I had #3 on the board.. IPA delicious and refreshing! These guys know beer!!

Not only it was on my birthday in which we celebrated. But our excursion to the mountains for the long weekend was a fantastic time. As you can see through the pictures we really went all the way my dish was as abundance of seafood that you could have with an amazing cioppino sauce that was also soppable with crusty garlic bread. The beverages were on point, they have a great menu of bourbons. Will not disappoint. As a surprise they gave me a flourless chocolate Bundt cake to take home with a candle. Being with the family is always a warm unforgettable experience. There is something to be said about being surrounded by people who care and love so much. I'm in bliss. Until next time ...

For drinks, the Sweater Weather was the clear winner--well-balanced and thoughtfully crafted. The combination of Bulleit rye, La Pommiere Calvados, and sorghum created a smooth, seasonal cocktail with nice depth. The Properly Poached was decent but didn't quite impress in the same way; the Brugal Añejo, pear liqueur, dark wildflower honey, and pink salt made for an interesting profile, though it leaned a bit flat compared to the first cocktail. We started with the broiled sweet crab dip served fondue-style with pita chips, which was a great opener. It was warm, creamy, and rich, with good crab flavor that made it easy to keep going back for more. For entrées, the blackened mahi fish tacos were fresh and flavorful. The mango pico added a nice brightness, and the cilantro crema tied everything together nicely on the corn tortillas. The smash burger was another solid choice--juicy double patties with melted American cheese, crispy onion rings, house sauce, and house-made pickles that added a great tangy crunch. Service was ok waitress took a bit to bring the drinks and then the food took about 30+ minutes luckily we were entertained by talking to locals that we really weren't concerned. Overall, the restaurant delivers a pleasant upscale-casual dining experience with well-executed comfort favorites and creative cocktails. Definitely worth a visit, especially for the crab dip and the Sweater Weather cocktail and the fish tacos those were my overall favorites. Prices are mid range. Note that the restaurant as most restaurants in the Blue Ridge close early.

We shared the Brussel sprouts, the spinach and artichoke dip, and the three Onion and Apple soup. That soup was killer!!! Two in our party had the Tomahawk Pork chops. One had the Salmon over Teriyaki rice. I had the peach habanero meatball appetizer as a meal. All were really really good. Kaya was our server and she was wonderful. We are having dessert elsewhere but we will be back and will try it next time based on how good the food was.

The gal behind the counter was very prompt and courteous and answered my questions about options on the menu. There is a big stove across the bar so you can see some of the cooking that gets done. The only issue with that is the heat...I didn't want my frosty beer glass to warm up while I enjoyed one of their local brews. I'd rather sit away from the cooking action. I ordered the crab cakes which came with coleslaw. The crab cakes had a nice sauce decorating the top of each cake. I asked for more because the crab cakes were a bit more bread filled than crab filled. I know I am spoiled with west coast Dungeness crab as you get a lot of chunks and not well flaked blue crab, but I really was hoping for more crab than I got for the money. The coleslaw was just okay. It was a nice mayo based dressing but lacked a tangy/sweet combo that I just adore. I am not impressed enough to return.
