We happened to come across The brewery passing through Blue Ridge on Thanksgiving weekend. The biggest issue arose when I went to pay my $19.04 bill, the "20% tip" on the machine came out to $5.61. I pointed it out to the server right there and he acted confused and played dumb, which was frustrating. The custom tip button wasn't even working so I couldn't fix it myself, and with my kid losing it I just had to pay and go. It wasn't until I did the math in the car that I realized just how off it really was -- that's almost 29.5%, not 20%. This left me with a really yucky feeling. Just double check the math on that tip screen before you pay. I have a feeling this has caught a lot of people without them realizing it. Needless to say, I won't be returning here.

We looked around and the decor was really great and authentic. Going up to the bar, it was just him behind the bar and it was pretty busy, so after a couple minutes, he came over to take our order. He was very nice and accommodating to us! The Boro Inn is a really cool authentic hole in the wall kind of place and I loved it. We didn't have any food since we had just come from dinner, but maybe next time! I will definitely be back when I'm back in town!!

The beverages were on point, they have a great menu of bourbons. Will not disappoint. As a surprise they gave me a flourless chocolate Bundt cake to take home with a candle. It was warm, creamy, and rich, with good crab flavor that made it easy to keep going back for more. For entrées, the blackened mahi fish tacos were fresh and flavorful. The mango pico added a nice brightness, and the cilantro crema tied everything together nicely on the corn tortillas. The smash burger was another solid choice--juicy double patties with melted American cheese, crispy onion rings, house sauce, and house-made pickles that added a great tangy crunch.
