I stopped into Angry James Brewery after a long travel day--fresh off a flight and stuck in standstill traffic heading into the mountains--and it was exactly what I needed. The vibe here is everything you want in a mountain-town brewery: eclectic, laid-back, and full of good energy. The staff were so kind and welcoming, which immediately turned my day around. I ordered the nachos, and they were massive, piled high with toppings and absolutely delicious. Pair that with a cold beer, and suddenly the stress of travel melted away. The food came out fast, the beer hit the spot, and if you can snag a table by the window, the views make it even better. Angry James is the kind of place that reminds you why a trip to the mountains are worth it: great food, friendly faces, and an atmosphere that feels like a fresh breath.

If you are looking for an authentic brewery this is your place. Reminds me of the up and coming craft beer era over 20 years ago. I had a flight and loved the destination of flavors and hops. Our bartender was laid back and chill. I'll take it.

Entrance from the street. they have parking in the rear.

Just when you thought craft beer was drowning in a sea of sours and ipa's. I found this place on the way to Denver. The menu online said they had a english barleywine on draft. Oh hell yes, a rare brew. However when we arrived we learned they had just run out. But I could not be disappointed. Their beer menu is stock with a wide variety of true beers lagers, ales, stouts, and porters. Wow! A menu with two scouts rwo porters and a barrel aged imperial stout. I availed myself of one of the stouts a porter and the imperial stout. They were wonderfully crafted. The imperial stout was fantastic. They have mug club. Which made me sad I didn't live close by.

Great brewery in a beautiful location! We were traveling from Grand Junction to Denver, and I needed a place to charge my work computer. We looked on Yelp and saw that Angry James was near by. They had a great beer selection. We enjoyed the Vanilla Bean Mustacheo Also, they had several electrical outlets on the bar which was so helpful.

On our way to Avon for the weekend, we looked at the Hop Beer Passport for a brewery where we could stop along the way. Angry James Brewery was close enough off the highway for us to stop. The beer was solid. In fact, we bought a four-pack to take with us to hotel. It was a cozy interior, and there was a place to order food, too. They were cordial to visitors, but locals got more attention. That's to be expected, since locals sustain their business. Be sure to stop by and check it out.

I'm tired of The Brewery Thing. What happened to the simple Saloon with Jack on rocks and free peanuts? Anyway this was no different than any other brewery filled with weekenders determined to drink expensive suds. Service was especially friendly from the Grilled Cheese Sandwich franchise on site. After learning of my disappointment with their greasy, burnt sweet potato fries, I was given complementary tots.

I was in town for three days and wanted to check out the local places. If you are looking for a brewery that is not super crowded with tourist then this is the place. I think I was the only one in there that was not a local. They have a large selection of beers on tap. All the beers I tried had really good flavor combinations. I wish I would have brought some back with me.

Came in after hitting the slopes for some beers - I got the two-tone footer coffee stout and my husband got the brown ale. The stout is delicious - has a hint of maple finish and goes down pretty smooth. The brewery has a separate food business - Mountain Melt grilled cheese - that smelled really good! And some nice merch. Good stop in Silverthorne!

Good variety of beers on tap to pick from. The Cherry sour had a good balance of sour and tartness. The Norwegian Farmhouse was refreshing and light. The Jake's pil was good tasting but nothing special. Overall experience was great with live music and food from Mountain Melt hit the spot. Seemed like a local place and we enjoyed that vibe. Service was immediate as walked in, no complaints there.

Nice little spot here in Summit County. Mountain Melt is located inside, two different tabs to cover your beer and food, but worth it.

Solid beers at this conveniently located Dillon brewery. Plenty of seating at the large bar and table tops. Outdoor patio with a fire pit which wasn't open on the 13 degree day we were there. They have food too. A couple vegan options like the chili and pretzel. Great snacks. These guys just celebrated their two year anniversary. They have a variety of beers from pilsners to IPAs to stouts. Stop by if you're in the area.

A pretty fantastic stop with our dinner party! We infiltrated Angry James about an hour before closing and the barkeep was excited to have us. Only a few people were bellied up to the bar so we just took over the place. Alpen Weisse is a pretty fantastic beer if you like hefeweizens. Most breweries I make it to don't have hefs on tap, so this was a pleasant surprise. I might have had a few. The barkeep was attentive, fun, and easy going. The closing time approached and he was fine cleaning around us while we finished our beers. (We felt bad but he was cool with it). Parking wasn't a problem because I didn't drive, I rode but my driver found a spot easy. Clean and kept brewery.

There was no chili, no pork, nothing -- just basic mac and cheese that tasted like it came straight out of a box. My friend ordered a burger that was supposed to come with lettuce, blue cheese, and the works. Instead, it arrived with just chicken and bread. That was it. No toppings at all. The water we were given was also incredibly dirty -- it literally looked grey. Service somehow managed to be both overwhelming and nonexistent. While we were eating, the waiter came back to the table every couple of seconds so we couldn't even have a conversation. But when we were actually ready for the check, suddenly there was no waiter anywhere and we fwaited about 15 minutes. On top of that, every request got mixed up. I asked for blue cheese and after about 10 minutes the waiter came back with ranch. Then I asked for lemon vinaigrette (which the meal was supposed to come with) and instead got honey mustard. After explaining again, she came back with... even more honey mustard. We also paid $10 for fries with green chili and received about 15 fries. And one more thing when paying they did NOT bring my card back for about 20 minutes. It was also extremely dark where we were sitting all of the surrounding lights were off but everywhere else in the resteraunt was perfectly fine Overall the food quality, service, and attention to orders were extremely disappointing. Definitely not an experience I'd repeat don't waste your money here.

There was absolutely no way we were driving past the Frisco exit without pulling off. Outer Range is our ultimate mountain pit stop. They have an awesome location with a stunning modern build and plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the fresh mountain air. It is wild to think that we just visited their sister location in the French Alps during our recent European travels. The fact that they can maintain total excellence across two different continents is unreal. The two spots are completely equal, and the Colorado taproom continues to prove why they are world-class. The beers were spectacular as always. We started out with a couple of pints of their New England-style juice. In the Steep is a masterclass in the style with a beautiful, pillowy mouthfeel and heavy tropical notes. Sun in the Clouds was just as impressive. It delivers those bright citrus flavors without the aggressive hop bitterness. I even noticed Cross Flow on the tap list, which is a fresh, hazy collaboration they just put out with Casey Brewing. Before packing back into the truck, we made sure to grab a new metal tacker to hang up in the garage. We also snagged a four-pack of Lil John Wayne. The can art is easily the funniest label on the shelf, but the actual beer is a solid ten out of ten. To fuel the final stretch of the drive home, we ordered from Bird Craft right inside the brewery. They do not cut corners here. They are frying up full wings, including the drummies and the flippers, and they will toss them in any of their house sauces for an incredible snack. The skin stays remarkably crispy even under a thick coat of sauce, and the meat stays perfectly juicy. It is exactly the kind of savory comfort food you need after a long road trip. Every single time we stop by this place, they manage to completely knock it out of the park.
