This review is for the vegan ramen. I was immediately impressed with the creamy broth- typically vegan ramen is made with regular veggie broth but there was something different about Ani's. The fried tofu was great. Only thing that was lacking was the amount of actual toppings. Some added corn or broccoli or anything else would have been nice. As for the other regular ramen dishes on the menu, all of the broths are chicken broth and they are not the typical creamy pork broth that you would get at other restaurants. The pieces of pork in the ramen were also on the smaller side. Overall, I think the vegan ramen was better than the others just because of the richness of the broth. read more

The shrimp and pork buns were SO GOOD. We ended up ordering another order, which was excessive but needed to be done. We both enjoyed our ramen, it was very flavorful and the pork just melts in your mouth. Mine was a little more salty than I would have liked, but still very enjoyable. We took our daughter to this spot as she loved Ramen to celebrate her achievement in school. I'm also a huge fan of ramen and couldn't wait to try them but my husband is not very fond of Ramen at all. However, he enjoyed the food to the bone and loved everything he tried. Ordered: Pork buns Side of shrimp Spicy Miso Ramen with sub chicken thigh I liked the apps and the sides more than the ramen. This is more of a Japanese fusion style shoyu ramen. The broths seem fusion, not really Japanese. The spicy chicken miso smells like they used that Chinese chili condiment in it. This is better than Rakkii Ramen. The pork buns arrived warm and fresh. Pork is on the firmer side. They do use thick cut pork belly. The shrimp is really fresh! I'd order those two items again. Onto the ramen. I ordered a non-spicy chicken miso and they give me a spicy broth. I selected non-spicy and it is full of red chili oil. I couldn't eat it. I wasn't a fan of the chicken thighs. They tasted pretty firm and chewy. For ramens I'd stick with the pork belly. read more

The staff is rude, incompetent, and unapologetic. Food is decent if you can get past the bad service. Today, I tried to call them, and they put me on hold for five minutes before hanging up on me. I called back, and they picked and immediately hung up again. The third time I called, they put me back on hold and then never took me off hold. You can't go wrong with Ani Ramen House. The food is amazing. I would drive 30 minutes just for the bao buns. The chicken karaage is delicious. The customer service is always wonderful. This is quite a hip place for ramen, including the music! It is decorated nicely and the staff is super attentive and very nice. The ramen is good and the chicken wings are really delicious! My only gripe is the price for the Ramen. I've had ramen all over the country and most of the extra sides are always included in the bowl (like the egg). My kids wanted to try this ramen house so we decided to pay them a visit. I made a quick and easy reservation online for a Saturday afternoon. It was a cool and breezy Saturday but we still chose to sit in the little outdoor dining hut they had on the sidewalk. The hut was a pretty cool experience for the kids that's why we chose to sit outside but they do have indoor seating too. Our server was really nice and went over the menu with us and helped us to make our choices. We had the Chicken Karage, Chicken Bao Bun, Pork Belly Bao Bun, and the Shoyu Ramen Bowl. Everything was really good. I didn't like the dipping sauce for the Chicken Karage and asked for some spicy Mayo instead - it was a nicer flavor in my opinion. Overall the food and service was good. WARNING! They do not take food allergies seriously. I hate to finally have to make this review because I like their ramen, but unfortunately they don't take food allergies seriously. I went there on Valentine's Day with my partner. We have been going there fairly regularly for a year and a half. I know that they use chili infused sesame oil because it was confirmed by a manager over a year ago. In my first visit, the cook insisted that there wasn't chili oil in my dish. They remade it three times and I had to keep sending it back. Finally the manager went and looked at the sesame oil ingredient list and confirmed it was chili infused. That's how I know. In my visit on Valentine's Day, I explained to the server, who was amazing by the way, that I was allergic to all peppers and couldn't have anything with chili oil. He brought my dish and I tasted it. I could tell immediately that there was chili oil. I looked and could see reddish oil marks. I pointed it out to the server and he said he also noticed before bringing it to me and asked the cook to confirm that there wasn't any chili oil. The cook told him it was just sesame oil. I then told the server that it was confirmed by a manager over a year ago that their sesame oil is chili infused. He went and talked to his manager and they denied that and said it's just sesame oil. The manager never came over to talk to me directly. So, the server brought the same dish back. I pointed out that the oil marks are reddish and not brown like pure sesame oil. He brought the dish back to the cook. The cook showed him some bottle that said "sesame oil" but my assumption is it was not the actual bottle with the ingredients. Instead of taking the time to read the ingredients on the bottle, the cook and manager kept sending the server back to me with a dish that contained ingredients that I'm allergic to. Thankfully I don't suffer from a condition that will cause anaphylactic shock, but I get severe gastritis which causes me to not be able to eat for a week while I recover. The cook also said that all vegetables are marinated in sesame oil so I basically was SOL. That has never been the case. I always order the Shoyu and the cabbage is not marinated. They could have made me a dish with just noodles, tofu, and cabbage, but they wouldn't do that. Most other dishes in the restaurant have the same issue with the sesame oil, so I didn't really have a food option. Plus, I didn't trust them at this point. I was afraid that they would give me an ingredient I couldn't eat since they were trying to get me to eat the original dish. So I sat there with a glass of water on Valentine's Day and watched my partner eat. Again, my server that night was amazing and wanted to help but was met by resistance from his manager and the head cook. He was the only good part of the night. Thank you for your kindness and compassion, Victor!! It is sad that I no longer can eat here. I loved the ramen but people with food allergies need to avoid places that can cause harm. read more

I used to LOVE coming here, more or so the Summit location since it is closer to me. I haven't been to this location yet or had Ani Ramen in quite a while, so I figured why not indulge. I ordered the spicy miso ramen with pork for takeout and was just overall disappointed. The pork did not feel as though the quality was the same and my order had about 40% less than what I would've ordered for dine in- for the same price. I understand take out quality usually can never compare to having it fresh, but I've had takeout from Ani Ramen numerous times, and it wasn't how it is now. The noodles definitely changed and just wasn't pleasant, and there wasn't enough broth to properly enjoy the noodles and condiments that come with it. Overall, with this experience, I'm not sure if I'll return or recommend this place to others due to my past and current experience. read more

This was our #1 family go to spot for 20-25 times in the past 1.5 years. 5 stars. because tonight's experience is -100 stars. They get only 1 star. 6:28 - arrived 6:46 - finished ordering 7:33 - bao buns came out 7:39 - kale salad came out 7:57 - soup for main course came out. Dining room was at 75% to 80% all night. Instead kitchen and manager concentrated on to-go orders all night. Manager didn't work the room. Just worked on to-go orders. Only stopped by our table after we complained about not getting our first course for 50 minutes. Kitchen got behind. I get it. But then concentrated on to go orders first. Manager was MIA. Just poorly run. Should've told to go orders wait is longer to give kitchen time to catch-up. In addition my soup was cold (others tasted and agreed). Sent it back. Still cold when I got it back. At that point I told them we would take it to go. When the manager made a rare appearance and handed it to me he said "here you go big guy". Yes. I'm a big guy. But you don't talk to your customers like that. It's disrespectful. And really never apologized and had no interest in engaging me. Advice to owners: you need a true "front of the house" person. Working the room. Talking to customers. Getting feedback. Apologizing to customers for delays. Apologize for delays BEFORE customers complain. Be proactive. And when your manager talks to customers, treat them with respect and not call them nicknames you make up for them. Advice to owners: care about the timing of your sitting customers as much as your to-go orders. Manage it better. Ani Ramen we had a nice run. But unfortunately it is over. Food is great. Family loves it. But not only did you show no interest in your sitting customers tonight, you were disrespectful and that's not forgivable. read more

Everything was amazing! The food recommendations from our waitress Natalia were exactly what we needed and satisfied our cravings. We were given the cucumber salad on the house and I think I'm going to be craving that for a while. The miso sake chicken wings were perfect (I wish we ordered more!) my boyfriend had the spicy miso ramen and we requested it mildly spiced which is exactly what we got. I came here on 10/4 with my parents. It was the first time my parents had come out to eat since we started quarantining and I managed to convince them because they love Ani Ramen so much! We've been to others before but this one just opened up and is only 5 minutes away from our house! My parents were very comfortable here because the whole restaurant was so nice and clean! There weren't a lot of people but even still, we loved that we were seated so far from anybody. The server was very nice and she made sure we knew all the specials. The food was delicious as always! We got 3 short rib ramens, 2 orders of shrimp bao buns, 1 order of wings, and 1 order of gyoza. Everything came out staggered but enough time in between so we could finish. The manager came to talk to us near the end and when he found out this was my parents' first outing since March, he gave us a discount on the gyoza! He was so nice and friendly. I think Cranford Ani Ramen will be the only ani ramen my parents will want to visit now haha. But yes! Definitely recommend this place! The food and people are fantastic! read more

The Shoyu Ramen bowl with additional egg, mushrooms, and Umami bomb create an incredible bowl of ramen. Noodles are fantastic and firm and the pork belly tastes like it's been braised since it's mother was born. chili charred edamame is a fantastic starter and is a delicious salty yet mildly spicy appetizer. The portions were small, the egg was extra, and I was charged $5 for a mask that I was informed about. All in all I'll probably never come or order from here again.
