This lounge is situated inside the doubletree by Hilton hotel and the location is ideal as it has the Tesla destination charger in the complex, walking distance from downtown and if it's too cold for you like it was for me today you can just come here and grab a beer and wait till your car gets charged. We've been to the rest of the breweries in the area, so might as well try this one as well. Cute outside area. They're breaking in some new employees, and there were a few issues...getting our beers, something with my credit card, and also our cheese curds getting forgotten. I had to go in and ask about those, and they were just sitting under the heat lamp. Perhaps that's why they were overly rubbery. Not the best. They did take them off the tab, so that was nice. Pretty laid back place compared to some of the others. Might give it another shot the next time we're in town. read more

We wanted to eat lunch by the river, so we decided to check out the Animas River Beer Garden at the Doubletree Hotel in Durango. We arrived around 3 p.m. and there was only one other person eating. The patio by the river had great views of the river, you can hear the river while eating, and it was covered so when it sprinkled, we stayed dry. I ordered a burger which was delicious. My partner ordered the tacos and he loved them. I ordered the House margarita and he ordered a beer. We liked both. Our waitress was friendly and checked on us multiple times. Mostly, I enjoyed the riverside seating. There doesn't seem to be too many places in Durango that has seating outdoors by the river, so this is a great place to get that view and experience. read more

Located in a hotel, this lounge overlooks the Animas River. It seems to be connected to the restaurant as well. He ordered a beer and we went and sat on the balcony even though it was slightly chilly. I wanted to look at the river flowing through the town. There were ducks fishing for their dinner and the trees with their leaves changing. Idyllic. The server was friendly and amiable. There were some people having a meal and as we left we saw others sitting down. Will have to check out the food next time. It was a pleasant and relaxing rest. read more

Ate and drank here on my birthday, July 6, 2019. This is a super picturesque location adjacent to the Animas river which was swollen and flowing with all the melting snow. This beer garden is part of the Hilton DoubleTree and they have beer from Breckenridge Brewery. They had a two person live band playing relaxing '70s cover songs. Our waitress was really attentive and checked on us about five times while we were here. I had the best food in Durango at this location. I ordered the Sunnyside Farms Sausage Platter for $19.75. It included: 2 brats of your choice, sauerkraut, red cabbage, 2 soft pretzels, and German potato salad. This dish really filled me up. The soft pretzels were wonderful, the cabbage colorful, and the brats tasted great, especially the hot Italian stuffed sausage. The beers from Breckenridge Brewery were phenomenal. Our favorite was the Mango Mosaic and it had to be in the top three of all beers for our six Colorado microbreweries tour. We wanted to buy a growler or two of this beer, but they don't sell growlers here. I'm thinking it's because of an ordinance prohibiting glass close to the river. I really enjoyed this place, probably because of the proximity to the river, the live band, the great beer, delicious food, great company, and attentive service. Next time we're in Durango, we'll be here again. **Note- they are only open for dinner Wednesday through Saturday until 10 pm. read more

A decent (bunless) burger and bourbon. The views are great . I don't think the staff heard (or cared) about allergies as I asked for gf options and the sweet potato fries came out looking breaded. I ordered the steak and fries, and while the fries came out looking breaded (quickly scooped off my plate) and it came out with an arugula and tomatoes salad. I'm not a big fan of arugula, nor tomatoes, so I enjoyed the steak and I'm glad we got the nachos. It's a casual and easy place to come by after a day on the mountain, or a day of driving. Edit to add: even though I tried to confirm pre-order, the sweet potato fries are NOT GF. Glad I didn't try any, eek. The seating next to the river and mountain view was worth 4 stars all by itself. Throw in the cold beer, live music and excellent food and it gets 5 stars from me. Enjoyed watching folks float down the river in inner tubes and rafts. The weather was perfect, and Kirsten our server, was top notch! Went here on a Friday night, they let us move and sit by a heater once the other guests left their table. Asked our waiter for decaf coffee and he said he could do that and go get some upstairs. That was nice of him! Seemed like they were closing the outside part but never felt rushed, as he still asked if we wanted dessert. Food was good! I got the soup and it was awesome! Such a great place to get beer and appetizers. You can sit outside facing the Animas River and have a great view of the surrounding mountains. There isn't a huge beer selection, only about 10 kinds on draft then the typical bottled beers like Coors Light. We got a charcuterie board which was really good! It comes with baked bread which made it even tastier. The chicken wings were also really good. Usually there is a live band but there is not live music on Sunday. read more

Front desk agent gave us recommendations for dinner places including the one on site whom he personally vouched for. We ate at the lounge & had a couple of appetizers & a cocktail. Very generous portions & very tasty! The grilled chicken wings were delicious, had a good smoke flavor. Only critique would be that I like my wings a little more cooked with more char to it. The pretzel& queso dip also a winner. Huge pretzel ( enough for 4 reasonable snack portions), lighter airier texture than usual & very nice flaky crunchy crust. Best I've had so far. Cocktail the bartender made was just right. Food came out pretty quickly. Our attempt at having a light dinner with just 2 appetizers turned out to be a lot more food than we expected but it was all good so we're not complaining. read more

Decided to try Animas instead of our usual favorite, Steamworks. The food, "Hopped Up Hummus" and "Keg Rolls" were not bad... The beer, Boxcar Red and Upper A, was delicious!! The service was not bad until some jerk (short, balding guy, wearing a Buff) decided to get off his a$$ and do something. He acted like us customers really interrupted his existence.
