Momo Ghar and Ska True Blond on the patio.

This is a great place! A few months ago, I saw "dumplings" pop up in north Durango, but then I couldn't find them again. I was eating at Sage across the street (also great), and I noticed the sign in front of the union Social House that said "Himalayan Dumplings," so I stopped in to try them. The place was hopping, lots of people inside at the bar, and outside on the patio, and there were three food trucks, on of which is "Sherpa Momo Ghar." I had the chicken Momo in soup (the eponymous Momo Ghar), and while I was waiting for my order, I went inside and ordered a local beer, then went back outside to eat. The dumplings were delicious, like a variation of potstickers, and the soup was nice and sour and flavorful. Both went well with the beer, a Ska True Blond. I plan on visiting many times this summer!

This place has been open for 1 year. Survived Covid. I found the service to be fast, friendly and attentive. The ladies tending bar were on it. I even asked if they could make me a bloody mary! (See previous review!) I ordered food from the Backcountry Gourmet in the bar. Had a bacon cheeseburger slider and a crab cake slider. Both were delicious and service was friendly fast and efficient. I give this establishment and employees a hearty thumbs up.

Bacon cheeseburger slider with onion ring from Back Country Gourmet, inside the restaurant. Delicious!

Lucky for me, they had so many food options from all the food trucks and a bar at the center. I decided to eat at the slider food truck and ordered one fliet mignon slider and the Cajun fries. They give you a buzzer to let you know when the order is ready. During that time, we walked around to some of the other food trucks to check out their menus. We ended up grabbing at table just in time before we experienced torrential rain. Mind you, it had been sunny and 78 degrees just five minutes before and suddenly was freezing. Well, my version of freezing. Finally the buzzer went off and my sister picked up my order. We all shared the Cajun fries because the portion was definitely shareable and they were so good. The filet slider really impressed me! The blue cheese and caramelized onions were the perfect touch. I'll definitely be coming back here next time I'm in Durango!

The previous owner has retired and the new owner has not missed a beat and has taken the great spot to the next level. Awesome Rye Boulevardier and Hamachi Crudo at the bar night one - great service from Tony; Back at the bar the next night and had their amazing and tender Calamari, NY Strip, Truffled Potatoes and Sautéed Mushrooms + Onions. All top notch and the steak was perfectly cooked. Once again, great service, this time by Justin! What goes better with a steak than Pio Cesare Barolo (not on the list....yet!) Apparently, due to the slower evenings earlier in the summer, they packed up early. Makes sense. Next night (Friday) we arrived around 6 PM, sans-RSVP, and were quickly seated in one of the front window tables. Started off with the tomato bisque soup with wood-fired crostini for dipping ($8). The flavor of the crostini from the wood was sooo good. Can I have a 1/2 lb bag of those to go? For my entree, I had the Chilean Sea Bass special ($60) which was topped with a creamy spinachesque sauce and featured sides of carrots-squash medley and what I can only describe as a fancy potatoes au gratin with two more crostinis to lap up the delicousness. Drink: Pint of Pilsner Urquell ($7). Shout out to our server *Roxy* who is a rock star in dealing with the rare scumbag of Durango who purposely blew a massive cloud of vape smoke at a couple dining outside while she was checking on them, only to come back and spit on her when she told Señor Asshat to knock it off. Way to go, Roxy! Monster meal, unexpected entertainment. Massive hit: Seasons of Durango!

Tho the absolute standout for me was the Upper A Imperial Red! Staff is great, friendly and even the regulars will have beernerd level convos! Food is also awesome! They serve Pasties (pronounced "pas-tee") here...if you don't know what they are, they are basically caucasian empanadas and can go savory or sweet. I ordered FOR THE BIRDS "Beer roasted chicken, applewood bacon, potato, carrot, scallions, mushrooms and cheddar cheese. Served with sarsaparilla BBQ & ranch", and yes it was as delicious as described! Come hungry + thirsty and leave content!

I wish they had been a bit further apart as there were others that arrived with their pups and it bunches everyone together. All the dogs got along, but it was crowded. We had a server that came out and gave us info on what was currently on tap as well as the food menu. I chose the Low Flow Nitro Stout, my husband had the What's Up Wit. My daughter went with water. For food, she and I both ordered the Banged Up Pasty. I must say, I was excited to see a place that has a whole section of Pasties, they are not something you find everywhere but a favorite of our family. The pasty we selected was flaky crust filled with mashed potatoes and bratwurst. It came with gravy as well as grainy mustard. Delish!! My husband went with the Fish & Chips. They did not disappoint. In addition to the pup seating area, they have an extensive patio as well as indoor seating. Our service was great, the food delicious and the beers tasty and refreshing.

We started with the Bavarian pretzel, which was served with beer cheese and mustard. It was delicious and fresh! I then had the southwestern burger, which is always a favorite of mine because of the green chilis. The burgers are always cooked nicely (I order medium) and I was able to substitute a side salad, which was easily one of the best side salads I've ever had at a brewery. We are doing dry January, so no beers this time, but had a lovely hop water that they brew there and even left with a growler full. Highly recommend Steamworks for an authentic Durango experience or if you're just trying to catch a game or hangout with friends. It definitely has fun, local brewery vibes. The location was perfect for us because we were able to easily walk there from our hotel. We were lucky enough to get outdoor seating, which made the experience even better. It was great to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful Durango weather, and people watch while having dinner. We decided to do a beer flight so we could sample a variety of their beers before committing to a full pint. It was a great way to try different styles, and we each ended up finding a favorite. Everything we tried was really good. My husband liked their Buffalo wings and whiskey burger, I enjoyed the seared tuna bowl, and our kids liked their pizza. It is definitely a busy and popular spot, especially during peak vacation times, so I would recommend putting your name in early and expecting there could be a wait. In our opinion it was worth it. Steamworks had a great casual vibe that worked well for both families and adults wanting to enjoy a brewery experience. The downtown location adds to the charm, and it definitely felt like one of those must visit spots while in Durango.
