Something always different and not quite right. My understanding is this place changed ownership last year. The previous ownership was a mess. Yelling, swearing, wrong orders, took forever. That being said they food was really good. The new ownership seems to be running a better shop operationally. Faster, friendlier, and more polite. We tried the fried clams and were very pleased with the quality and quantity .. a solid 4 The next time we tried chowder and clam cakes.. the chowder was the worst thing i have put in my mouth in a long time.. awful ..loaded with dill and bay leaves. I don't know who was on today, but I ordered a simple pepperoni pizza, and it was TERRIBLE!! It was Luke warm and had the taste of either cheese that was sour or pepperoni that was on the turn!! Finally was able to find somewhere that has good seafood without having to drive to Warwick. Had the seafood platter and it could easily feed 3 people. The clam strips were cooked perfectly, not chewy at all. The grilled chicken caesar wrap was also a large portion and was delicious. read more

Terrible experience. I thought that being under new ownership things would improve. Custoner service tonight was terrible. We placed an order tonight and when we got home we realized it was incorrect. It was a simple fix- didn't put chicken on my greek salad and charged us for a soda we didn't get-(and didn't order) --no big deal at all. I called to say that I live super close, no worries- I'd come back- and the lady who works there said that we placed the order wrong. We didn't even get the soda they said we placed (diet Mountain Dew) and continued to say that whoever placed the order(my husband) placed it wrong. i was there when he called to place the order and he didn't order it wrong. I went in to pick it up because he has a broken leg. She said- he was wrong, this is the order he placed, so I don't know what to tell you- with such an attitude on something that should've been a quick fix. I'm elderly and just celebrated my birthday yesterday. Today, I ordered baked scallop, baked potato, and mixed veggie. it looked amazing when it arrived and I was thrilled since I only do this once a year. This has always been my go to restaurant because I loved i. Howeve, when I took a bite, the scallops were slimy and undercooked, the baked potato was mostly hard, and the mixed veggies were completely limp. I could only give one star for this. So. The food is really good here. We have always liked the steak and cheese grinders, pizza and seafood. However, delivery drivers are a little rude - they have backed up directly in front of our door to the point we have to squeeze outside to meet them because we can't open the door all the way. Music blaring. Also, they give attitude when customizing a menu item. I asked for spicy cheese fries instead of the regular cheese fries. Response was: we will do it this time but if it's a busy night, don't expect special orders. They've also said this when I wanted to add mushrooms to my steak tip dinner. Really? You can't add one item to anything if it's a "busy night"?! For this reason, we have decided to dine elsewhere from now on. read more

Place is near my job, order occasionally with not much to report. But the last few visits this month I've noticed they have re-staffed or something. Finally some happy faces! I've been wanting to try Ani's since I live so close to it but I never got around to it. Today was finally the day where I did though! I called and placed a small veggie for pickup and they said it would be about 20 minutes. It's a holiday so I was pretty surprised at the little wait time. I hang up the phone and I go to make a call back not even a minute later to just change something quick and he told me it was already halfway done. ???? What? There's no way. Literally not even a full minute passed by. So that kind of made me upset that he just blatantly lied to me but whatever. I pick up the pizza and the service was good and my pizza was ready so I had no complaints there. Moment of truth to see how the pizza is. The pizza was SO GOOD. I honestly couldn't even be upset anymore. They really load up the veggies on the pizza and the taste was just amazing. Chicken appeared nice and big at first, but it was very disappointing. The chicken was extremely dry, Probably because they buy their chicken at Stop and Shop in the value packs, those turkey sized chicken breasts are just a warning sign.... Perhaps if they flattened the chicken breast so it was uniform in size, it could have cooked evenly, it would have been edible. Pasta was SUPER watery. Definitely need to drain that pasta! Made everything even extra soggy... Pasta sauce isn't made in house either. It's the same ol Stanislaus "Al Dante" sauce from Sysco.. Chicken parm sub.. NOT homemade, or fresh chicken. At best, elementary school chicken patties topped with sauce and cheese. The picture makes it look amazing., but it was a total disappointment. The guy answering the phone is also the only employee.. I have driven past this place almost every day, but, I am not a pizza fan, so I never stopped. My 5 year old grandson told me that I needed to go there because he likes the chicken tenders. So for his Pre-K graduation lunch, we stopped in. I did not realize the vast menu they had. The gentleman behind the counter laughingly asked if my grandson was there for the liver and onions. No, but, "are you serious?" That is what I ordered for me! What a great choice. 2 lightly seasoned pieces of beef liver with sauteed onions and bacon (too much bacon for me). Hands down the best food I've ever had at little take out place. Best fish and chips in town, they get the batter right, it's crisp and not oily. The sandwiches and pizza are all great too.
