First time at Angelo's as I was in the area and wanted outside seating. My coworker was with me and suggested this place. I will first say the hostess was very nice as was the waitress. The inside space is nicely decorated and the outside seating is relaxing. They did have some specials I went with the baked seafood and even though I wanted to love it, I feel it lacked flavor, my daughter was also with us and ordered the same plate and agreed with me it just lacked flavor. Well i ordered a pasta dish with fri diavolo sauce, no clams, muscles, etc.. i got spaghetti with just plain sauce..i mentioned it to the waitress, mind you that I specifically told her just what i wanted..she said sure no problem. Then a cook i assumed came over with a bowl of "hotter sauce" and said to add that to it..didnt do a thing for me.. i like the hot sauce.. but when we first walked in the waitress sat over to a table and there were three empty booths and I said could we please have a booth and she said oh those are reserved. Angelo's Palace Pizza is a great place to grab a solid meal. They specialize in Greek food and pizza. I do not think I've ever tried the pizza, but I have had some of their Greek options and pasta options and have enjoyed them. I wouldn't say it's the best Greek and Italian food I've ever had, but I have never had a bad meal there! They have a very nice restaurant that has a casual atmosphere. They often play live music and have events like trivia or bingo. They also had outdoor seating and a really nice bar area. They also have a cool robotic server who will bring out the plates to your table and an employee will be shortly behind it to grab the plates and hand them to the table. read more

We were invited to a family holiday gathering here and had an opportunity to try their family style buffet offerings. We had the back of the restaurant reserved for our party and when we arrived they had a great assortment of cheese, crackers, spreads, fruit, cured meats, and olives waiting for us. The server helping our group (about 25 of us) was friendly and quick with running drinks and checking in on us throughout our time there. We all enjoyed the food; hot rolls and butter, Caesar salad, chicken franchise, chicken parm, ziti, and mashed potatoes and they even packaged up the leftovers to take home. Serious can not beat the prices for the quality of food or service that you get here! The cinnamon old fashioned drink was killer!! Dangerously delicious I could have had 4 more. Their dinner for two special really can't be beat! Even better you can order different salads and entrees!! $45 includes a pitcher of sangria or bottle of wine, soup or salads, entrees and dessert. We got red wine which was truly delicious. I got a garden salad, chicken parmesan with ziti and tiramasu. The restaurant was nice and clean, but let me tell you about my experience. We sat down right away, but the wait for the food was insane. We went during lunch time and my friend had to return to work due to the food arriving almost an hour late. So I told her to put his food to go and they still brought it out. I asked for extra sauce twice and never received it. And by the time I was signing the check to go is when she decided to ask me if I wanted more water. I get that the waitress was new but i think she needs more customer service training. My pasta wasn't even hot, it's like it was sitting for a while too. Never again! read more

Arrived 5:40 pm on a Thursday, waitress immediately took our drink order. 15 min later our beers arrived. Placed dinner order (3 sandwiches) took almost an hour before our food arrived. Waitress never came back to check how our sandwich was or if we wanted more drinks. Gyro sandwiches were nothing to write home about either. Sandwich was dry. Very disappointed in food. Just went to Angelo's Pizza which I occasionally do when I am back in Cumberland, never had an issue. I ordered a bowl with tuna. I have not idea what was on the plate. It did not look like grilled tuna, did not look like sushi, did not look like tuna out of a can, did not look like tuna salad (no vegetables that I could tell in it), so I have no idea what was in it. I did not want to complain to the bartender, it was not her fault there was something completely misleading on the menu. Recently ordered a turkey sub with yellow mustard and the sub was sent with Honey Mustard instead, bread was falling apart and no care went into making the food. When we called to ask for a replacement the manager offered a $12 credit for future orders. When asked if a new sandwich could be sent in its replacement, Angelos again made the sandwich incorrectly and this time the bread was in worst shape then before. It's a shame that a place I've frequently ordered from has seen its quality decrease over time. Never ordering from them again!! read more

Fantastic food and service. A group of 7 of us stopped in for a quick pizza with zero expectations and were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. There was a great ambiance, and we immediately were made to feel welcome and seated together, with the staff moving some tables around for us. At our server's recommendation, Christina, I ordered the toasted cinnamon old-fashioned. I was not expecting such a high-end cocktail. The old-fashioned had a cinnamon stick that had been perfectly flamed, leaving a light smoke flavor infused into the drink, which paired perfectly with the bourbon and had a wonderfully spiced nose to the drink. For the appetizer, we went with the Rhode Island-style calamari. The calamari was perfectly fried, not overcooked and chewy, but a melt-in-your-mouth experience. The batter was light but well seasoned, and with the fresh banana peppers and marinara sauce, it paired perfectly. Again, this fry and seasoned batter was perfect. We did get pizza, and the star was the pepperoni (picture below) pizza. The cheese was melty and flavorful, and when you took a slice, it broke perfectly from the adjacent slice, with the melty cheese stringing up as you removed it. This presentation was visually pleasantly, as was the texture of the crust. The others had two other pizzas, which were equally good. For dessert, Christina brought us a slice of their chocolate cake and a slice of strawberry cheesecake. The cheesecake stood out from a nice-sized slice at a perfect chill but not too cold. The strawberry puree was executed precisely and delicately but paired with the ideal bite. The chocolate cake was evenly layered and had a smooth, rich texture with a rich flavor profile that finished clean. This dining experience was a standout, and I am so happy to have discovered it. When we were setting up at the front on music bingo night, one of the waitresses completely forgot to ask my friends order and walked away and when she came back, she asked her if she was there the whole time. The second time we went, we replaced in the back with a few friends. It was hard to hear the music, but we were able to get most of it. Next time we will definitely put reservations in for the front. When we were placed in the back are we just didn't come by often and we had to wait till we saw her if we wanted another drink or anything else. Just moved to Rhode Island and everyone told us we had to try this place. Ate there once and ordered pizza once. Both experiences did not live up to the hype. When we went there the restaurant was decent enough. Well lit inside and ample seating outside. The menu seemed a bit overpriced but not prohibitively so. The service was ok. Our waitress said and did the right things, though it felt superficial. We did have to wait forever to pay, but she said she had a nosebleed and apologized for that. I believed her. The food was of moderate quality at best. They bragged on the pizza crust and its freshness, but the crust was quite doughy both times I tried it and, well, devoid of flavor. The toppings were quite tasty and had generous portions, though. I'll add that when dining in, they had a seasonal cider on tap that was excellent! All in all, the everything was ok, but I don't see going out of my way for it. read more

Ordered from Angelos Express on Diamond Hill Road last night. We were so disappointed. The truffle fries were cold and soggy. The worst was the eggplant Parmesan meal. It was inedible. Angelos is a place that is always consistent. The atmosphere is very welcoming. My favorite time to go is the summer as they have a very nice outdoor patio. While their menu is pretty standard, they also rotate in a seasonal menu of food and drinks. If you visit often, I recommend signing up for the reward program. They mail lots of coupons and the reward points add up fast. Delivery and take out also available but I've found the food/overall experience is better when dining in. Sometimes you can get stuck in the takeout pick up line for too long and your food will just be sitting there. So if you're trying for the first time - dine in for the experience! They also have a robot that will bring the food out to you. read more
