I have been going to Christina since I was 8 years and I could not trust or love her more. I will share this story and photos just to show her magical abilities and serious understanding of hair and hair treatments. I moved from Chicago to New York City a few years ago and was going on a last minute vacation for which I wanted to touch up my highlights. For reference I am a brunette and Christina has given me this beautiful balayage/ lighter pieces framing my face and I just needed to touch up these highlights. Let me reiterate... HIGHLIGHTS. Long story short I walked out of my nyc appointment fully blonde. Not one strand of brown hair left on my head. Like Britney spears blonde circa 2000. It was trash. I immediately flew home to Christina. Before even telling my family I was coming into town I made sure Christina was available. She worked her magic ...after laughing and getting over the horror that was my hair. But she completely transformed my hair back, which not only shows that she is good at her job but truly understands the process of the treatments and how to appropriately use which colors /treatments to obtain the best results. All in all, Christina is amazing and she will make your hair goals come true.

I went to Niki Moon Salon Naperville, for balayage and showed the stylist exactly what I wanted…read more Before starting, I specifically asked if she could achieve that look, and she said yes. After about two hours, I could barely see any difference in my hair. The only noticeable result was that my hair felt much drier and more damaged. She then told me that because my hair was very dark, she could not make it lighter. That is unacceptable because she saw my hair before starting and still told me she could do it. Since she could see that I was unhappy, she offered me a discount to come back a second time and redo the process to get the lightness I originally wanted. I went back, spent another two to three hours there, and after all that, she put a dark color over the lightened parts and left it on for about 20 minutes. The result was still almost nothing--just dry, damaged hair with barely any visible change. Even my friend could not tell that I had done anything to my hair. I paid $500 and got basically no result. If you have dark hair, I do not recommend trusting Niki Moon Salon for balayage or highlight or ... They may say they can do it, but in my experience, they could not deliver the result they promised. The stylist later said she put dark color over the lightened areas because I told her I did not want red or yellow tones. But I have had balayage done many times before and achieved lighter results without red or yellow tones. Avoiding brassiness should not mean making the hair dark again and leaving the client with no visible result. In my opinion, if a stylist cannot achieve the requested result on dark hair, they should be honest before starting instead of wasting the client's time and money. I do not recommend Niki Moon Salon for people who are not already blonde. This photo was taken right after her second appointment. Can you see any difference? I couldn't either! I also showed the hairstylist a picture of what I wanted. $500 for... nothing!

When I voiced my opinion they do not have the logical business perspective to care and improve or even to attempt. If you find yourself in a position where you need hair service ASAP, I did find an amazing place close by. The ambiance is alive, more than 1 staff --- lol, actually a good amount. Good structure is set up where everyone performs their magic and talents. I was so impressed to see how they know how to work with all hair types. Quality is not lost based on quantity. She does weft extensions and I have never had an issue with installation, she always makes them look amazing and blended perfectly. The head massage during the hair wash is the best, and everyone is always so friendly. The tea they give is amazing as well. I love the vibes of the salon and it's such a treat when I have my appointments. I have gotten my eyebrows waxed and tinted before as well as a chakra massage and they have all been lovely as well.

People need to know this…read more.. When I first sat in Misha's chair and she asked me what I would like, I am the kind of person who has a hard time describing what that even is. I'm more of a visual person who holds an 'I'll know it when I see it' sort of vibe and someone who isn't very knowledgeable about hair color, hair terminology lingo in how to express what they want. So let me tell you when I say.. Misha makes life a heck of a lot easier for you in that department. One real life example: She went out of her way to check in with me after my appointment to see how I was feeling and if I liked the color. When I realized I had misdirected and misspoken about what I wanted, she, without hesitation, invited me back in to tweak it so it matched my vision. She is really devoted detail-oriented and has such a creative eye. Especially when (no offense to others but) I feel like other hair-stylists can sometimes become defensive if a client wants adjustments, or needs to re-clarify. Whereas Misha never made me feel ashamed or like I couldn't speak up. Even when I misspoke or wasn't sure how to explain what I wanted, she stayed present with me and patient, where I felt like I was treated with care and compassion, not a client to be judged or rushed (especially in today's world) --her customer care is something you cannot teach, and is a lost art. She has that rare mix of technical skill and basic human decency that makes you feel safe asking for exactly what you want. --She ended up knowing exactly how to adjust my color even when I didn't have the right words to describe it. And on top of that... she's just so comfortable to be REAL with. The banter back and forth makes you feel like you're working with the skill set of a high-end runway salon expertise, but in the presence of someone with such warmth that you're being taken care of by a close friend with a homey nurturing atmosphere vibe. I live over 20 miles away, which is not close by, by any means, but she is someone I would go out of my way to see because she's THAT good --in a heartbeat. Guarantee you hair won't be the only thing walking out of that salon feeling like it received the top TLC treatment but your heart will as well. Bonus++ if you happen to meet her dog, Willow, while you're there, that's an extra salon pick me up that will make you wanting to come back again. Highly recommend Misha to anyone looking for a new hairstylist who knows what she's doing and also brings that safe, trusted, home-away-from-home, forever-stylist atmosphere. 10/10, Misha is your girl!
