Machaca (shredded Beef And Eggs)
Michael C.

This place is the real deal. Moving from San Diego to South Florida has been difficult in terms of breakfast burrito options. Anita's taste just like I'm back on the border. The service is friendly, the food came out super fast, and the inside feels like home in SD. Can't recommend the machaca for breakfast enough. I'll be back many times.

Ground Beef Tostada

Boy do I wish I had found this place long ago -- all the mediocre Mexican food I've paid too much for over the last two decades! The only major drawback to Anita's is that there is no liquor... no margaritas. I do love a margarita with my Mexican. Corona is available, however, with a couple other beers. The space is very small and looks like a cafeteria. You order at the counter and wait. I loved the two chimichangas I've had there (one carnitas and one carne asada), which makes sense since other reviewers rave about the burritos. I had a good ground beef tostada too. The prices are totally fair, and I've spoken to four different customers on my two visits there who all told me it's the best California Mexican they've found in S FL, and a gem overall. One long-time customer told me his go-to is the taco salad, and it did look great. I went the second time within a week of the first, so I expect to make visit number three very soon.

I went to school in San Diego and quickly fell in love with California Burritos! I try to find one everywhere I go and this one came pretty close to the SD originals.

I have been patronizing this business for years! Their food is excellent!!!!! Customer service is great! I've never been to Mexico but if their food is really like this, go ahead and book a flight for me, please and thank you!!!!

Been waiting a while to try the breakfast burritos from this location. A tad disappointed, the burrito was good but lacked some flavor. It was dry? like it was missing some sauce, and i personally don't eat spicy so i did not add the green salsa that was provided. It was a solid burrito to keep you full for a while, and big for the price. Service was quick, and overall a good experience.

Fast food Mexican style but Taco Bell is still reigning supreme. What a shame. Huge portions, now that is attractive, but very little good flavors. I ordered a chimichanga, some tacos and a platter, yeah, it was all decent. I just don't like food with watered flavors, and Anita's was a tad bland. Moving on...

We ordered a few cocktails, the El Segundo Classico, a classic margarita, and the Oaxaca Peach Old Fashioned made of blanco tequila and a bit of mezcal, very refreshing to start off with. Our servers recommended a few different menu items. The Pimento Cheese Elote Dip small plate was delicious. We then moved on to the tacos - the Brisket Burnt Ends, the Chicharron Ceviche, and the Cali Fish (my favorite). The Cali Fish was nicely fried and just a bit of heat and slightly sweet slaw. Also tried the Birria Tacos and the Burrito, both great. We loved sitting outside in front of the restaurant. There are few artist studios across the parking lot. The menu is awesome. Prices are great. It was tough to finish my blackened chicken burrito! Deliciosa!!! But what makes this place vibe is the young staff. They rock! And they got each other's 6. I witnessed this as Sam was pouring one of their famous margaritas. As she was close to empty with her container, Connor does a stealthy maneuver and slips in another container for her. Sam did not miss a beat because of Connor. Everyone and I mean everyone connects. It is worth your time. Enjoy the local art too.

So that was a nice surprise! Then the people started flooding the place! Glad we got there early haha The margaritas.... wow. We tried a few different ones and they were all so amazing! The most unexpected and unique one was the spicy avocado one - don't knock it, till you try it! Made with fresh avocados, it was like a delicious tequila smoothie almost. SO good. I also tried the Guava Habanero (available for happy hour), delicious! My husband ordered a few spicy margaritas to his taste, they can make them as spicy as you'd like! Food - we ordered the smoked spanish octopus (not happy hour). This was VERY good. The octopus was cooked perfectly and had great flavor! Then from the happy hour menu, we got a chicken quesadilla and a carnitas taco. Both yummy! Really enjoyed the quesadilla! I hadn't been in here a very long time (since when they first opened) so we had a great time and definitely will be coming back for happy hour again. It's a GREAT HH!

I ordered a margarita from the happy hour menu--well priced and absolutely delicious. My husband had tacos with rice and beans, and I ordered the ribeye with chimichurri sauce. I asked for my steak medium, and it came out a bit more rare than expected, but the staff handled it graciously and made it right. Once corrected, it was delicious. She suggested sweet plantains to go with it and white rice with beans which is traditional Cuban (instead of yellow rice). IT WAS FABULOUS! It was crispy on the outside and juicy. The mole was flavorful but not spicy and i appreciated that the meat was not dripping in sauce. My dinner date ordered chicken tamales which were seasoned in a Cuban style with yellow rice. After one meal here, it was easy to understand why it's considered one of the most sought-after restaurants in the area. The atmosphere is energetic and vibrant without feeling overly loud, and the service was polished, knowledgeable, and attentive throughout the evening. The menu encourages sharing, which allowed us to sample a variety of dishes. We started with the lobster aquachile, which was incredibly fresh and beautifully presented. The lobster was tender, and the bright citrus flavors paired perfectly with the avocado and vegetables. It was a refreshing and memorable way to begin the meal. Next came the beef empanada and pork taco. The empanada was rich and flavorful with perfectly cooked beef and a crisp exterior, while the pork taco packed an impressive amount of flavor into a single bite. Both were excellent examples of why Buccan has developed such a strong reputation for its small plates. One of the highlights of the evening was the squid ink orecchiette. The pasta was perfectly cooked and coated in a rich, savory sauce that brought everything together. It was one of those dishes that makes you immediately start planning your next visit. For a larger plate, I ordered the prime beef burger, which was outstanding. The beef was juicy and flavorful, the toppings were balanced, and the fries were perfectly crisp. It may seem unusual to order a burger at one of Palm Beach's most acclaimed restaurants, but this one absolutely deserves the attention it receives. What impressed me most about Buccan was the consistency across every dish. Nothing felt like an afterthought. From the creative seafood dishes to the comfort-food favorites, every plate was executed with care and attention to detail. Palm Beach has no shortage of excellent dining options, but Buccan stands out as a restaurant that successfully combines creativity, quality ingredients, and flawless execution. If you're visiting the area, this is a reservation worth making well in advance. Recommended: Lobster Aquachile, Beef Empanada, Pork Taco, Squid Ink Orecchiette, Prime Beef Burger, and don't skip the fries. One of the best meals we had during our trip.
