    Egg and potatoes

I first heard about this spot through random searching on the Internet, and since I'm always in the mood for Mexican food I decided to give it a try. This place is located inside of the marathon gas station on State Road 7/US441. I went in the morning around 7 AM. I ordered an egg and potato burrito and P.L Chilaquiles (Con Huevo). The burrito costed $5.99 and the P.L Chilaquiles (Con Huevo) was $8.99. All food items were made to order and the wait wasn't that bad since I was the only one at the counter. The total wait time was proximately 10 minutes. The burrito was absolutely delicious!!!! I enjoyed it, BUT I did enjoy the P.L Chilaquiles (Con Huevo) wayyyy more. This was my first time trying this dish, and I was absolutely amazed! For the chilaquiles, I decided to get red salsa because the employee recommended it to me. By the way, she was very lovely, and very patient. I couldn't even finish my meal at home because I ate it all in my car!! Unfortunately, I did not get a picture because I couldn't stop eating haha. For the price, it was very affordable. With my meal, I received: rice, refried beans, cilantro, onion, lettuce, cheese, two fried eggs, and the red salsa chilaquiles. Overall, I will definitely come back to this place again AND recommend all of my friends that are interested in Mexican food to give this place a try!!!!

A large interior and bar area with a very friendly and helpful staff. I ordered a Burrito lunch special. My Burrito was great and filled with a generous portion of meat. The exterior tortilla was soft and I could cut it with a fork. The sauces are fresh and wake up all your taste sensations. We shared a caramel flan which was large and large on delicious flavor too!

The menu is large with quite a few lunch specials from which to choose. It was not an easy decision. We enjoyed addictive chips and two salsas (one mild and one spicy) while looking over the menu. My husband got their lunch burrito. It came with sides of refried beans, yellow rice, and salad. There was a dollop of sour cream on top. He had ground beef as his burrito meat filling. He really liked the flavor. He said the tortilla wrapping was soft. He was planning on taking half home for dinner, but wound up eating the entire meal as it was so good. I had an appetizer of shrimp ceviche. The large serving came spread out on a plate. There was a ton of shrimp -- cut piece of larger sized shrimp mixed in with whole baby shrimp; chopped tomatoes, onions, cilantro. All in a marinade. I added an additional squeeze lime and some of the mild salsa. The shrimp dish was delicious. It felt healthy and refreshing -- especially on the hot day. For dessert, we had (vanilla) flan. A large portion that was perfect for us to share. It came with whipped cream and a couple cinnamon sugared chips. This place is a keeper.

The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, and the live mariachi singer was absolutely fantastic, he really made the evening special. The service was outstanding from start to finish. The chips and salsa were fresh and delicious, and both of our meals were packed with flavor. I ordered the chicken fajitas, and my husband had the pollo asado. Both were excellent! We had such a wonderful experience. La Cantinita has definitely earned a spot in our regular restaurant rotation. If you're looking for great Mexican food, outstanding service, and a fun atmosphere, I highly recommend checking them out...especially on a Friday night when the mariachi singer is there. You won't be disappointed!
