The guy at the kiosk watching everything I did commenting on every button I pressed made the experience extremely awkward and annoying, we did not like that at all and almost walked out mid order. Ordering is very easy and intuitive, regardless of age no one needs their hands held. I'll also add that I really didn't like the "no cash" policy. Everything except for the ordering/payment experience was great but I will say that having someone breathing down your neck while you are ordering sets the negative tone from the start. Tip: Update the software to autogenerate a number for Dine in or to go orders and that Kiosk Supervisor can go away, I'm sure they are sick and tired of saying the same instruction over and over and over every single day - "Enter your number in the name field so we don't have to yell out your name" read more

Hubby and I met his sister and the kiddies here for taco Tuesday. The parking lot was packed but we circled around and found a spot. There was a line of people waiting to order at the two kiosk and a staff member helping customers. So many great choices but I narrowed down my selection to chips and guacamole with the Caribbean carne tacos. Our order came out pretty quickly. The guacamole was a delicious start. Of course the star of my show are the Caribbean carne tacos which are always sweet and savory due to the perfect combination of steak and sweet plantains. The staff was friendly and did explain how the kiosk worked and how we place our order through there but I think the experience is a bit odd for a walk in restaurant- giving very anti social vibes/don't want to interact with customers. After shopping at the Wellington Mall, I wanted to find something to eat that wasn't the food court. I saw this spot close by and decided to dine in with my mom. To order, you go to the self check out screen so we got: chips and guacamole, birria ramen, chicken taco bowl & horchata. Unfortunately, the only thing that tasted ok was the chips and guac. The birria ramen had such an odd flavor, I couldn't eat more than a few bites. The chicken bowl was subpar, most of the food tasted salty. If it wasn't for the appetizer, we would've left with an empty stomach bc we essentially took all the food to go. The horchata was just ok, really just not the best tasting food in my opinion. The inside is pretty nice, the staff was also attentive and one of the employees also came around to ask patrons the feedback and what they can improve. Talkin' Tacos... what can I say? I came across this place while looking for somewhere I could eat with my picky eater. The décor is simple, and the place itself isn't bad. They offer the option to order through a kiosk, grab a number, and sit down--which I think is great... as long as no one gets distracted in the process. The service is good, but the man who walks around supervising is a bit too intense and, honestly, a little odd. And the food... How's the food? Portions are generous--you either go hungry or go ready to share. The guacamole was a pleasant surprise; usually, at most Mexican places it's pretty tasteless, but here it was actually good. My daughter's plate was decent. Mine, on the other hand... well. I ordered the Birria Bowl: the meat was okay, the rice was okay, the beans (?) I couldn't find. Instead, there was a gluey, bland kind of paste that was pretty unpleasant. Overall, the whole dish felt like it was missing flavor. Loved my first visit to Talkin Taco's. I'm not even a Mexican Food enthusiast, but this location was amazing. The decor was really nice, and they had decently sized tables for all group sizes. I ordered the Southern Chicken Tacos with a Flour Tortilla and I loved it! It was flavorful, the price was decent, and you're allowed to make adjustments to your order all from the tablet. I added some guacamole on my tacos and they didn't even charge me extra! For desert we ordered the cookies and cream Churros and they were AMAZING! When you walk in you are greeted by an employee who explains how to order with the kiosk. Its very colorful walking on. Graffiti/ air brushing art work on the walls. You get a number for your table and they bring out your order. What I don't understand is why everything came out separately. We ordered queso and chips. That came out first. Then one order of tacos, still hadn't gotten the drinks at this point. Then thr drinks come, now waiting on next order of tacos. Now I realize we still hadn't gotten our elote corn. I had to tell them 3x that we never got it. It came finally when we were finished with the tacos. Everything should come out together this way they know they are not waiting on anything to bring out. Probably the best tacos ive found in the area. Don't let the fact that this place is a chain stop you. The birria tacos and the street corn are INCREDIBLE. I come every chance I get. The service is fine for an order and sit down kinda joint. There was someone helping us to order on the touch screens when we got there so it was definitely appreciated. I loved my taco salad. So for me the restaurant would be 4 stars. There was parking right outside. And inside the casual restaurant was decorated perfectly for a Mexican/taco place. We came here to meet friends. They'd seen the restaurant on the TV show, "Check Please" and wanted to try it. We were happy to meet them. You order and pay at the kiosk. But there was a very nice guy who helped us navigate the ordering process and allowed me to have shrimp on my salad as opposed to steak or chicken. It was only a small up charge which was fine with me. As a said, I loved my salad. In addition to the fresh greens, there was tasty guacamole, pico de gallo, corn, cheese, and the aforementioned fried shrimp. Even the large flour tortilla bowl that the salad was served in was crispy and addictive. Too expensive for the quality. We paid $50 for 2 small entrees (3 tacos and 3 birria tacos plus guac.) My tacos came out 25 min before my husband's meal and the guac and chips platter (which I was waiting for to add to the tacos...) so...it was ice cold. Music is super loud. Ordering is on touch screens and the items don't have much description in the system so it's hard to know what you're getting without holding up the whole line. Guac was slightly watery - pretty average. Got a ton of chips but, you have to pay separately for both items so kinda annoying. I came here previously and loved the food, however this time was a completely different experience. We ordered the Birria burrito, street corn, al pastor tacos and the kids chicken burrito. The food came out quickly but the quality was extremely disappointing The Birria burrito was cold and had no flavor and the street corn was bland and tasted like stale Takis. The Al pastor tacos were the best of what we had. I can't comment on the kids chicken burrito because it never came. After waiting an additional 20 minutes and after being told repeatedly it was coming right out after we asked when it would be ready, we finally asked them to just cancel the order. I should note that it was not busy when we came to eat. Overall, I would no longer recommend eating here as the quality isn't worth wasting your time and money. read more

What happened??? You used to be exceptional but today you missed it badly. Been my go-to restaurant for tacos since last year. Tonight there was a negative change in the food. I ordered the taco trio. The chicken tacos had A LOT less meat and toppings than before. The shrimp tacos too and all the tacos were all COLD! When for a party of 2 , I pay $70 with tip for 3 street tacos, one burrito and small sides of guacamole and plantains, I expect the tacos to at least be fat with toppings and Not mostly lettuce. Maybe the cooks have changed, maybe too many Uber Eats orders and not enough cooks, maybe you're short staffed, maybe management changed, maybe you're cutting corners. Maybe a bit of all. We visited this establishment today after having numerous positive experiences at the Miami location. However, the Wellington location has some work to do. Food: the tacos were pretty good. The beer tacos were the best I would say that second the southwest chicken tacos were Eesti according to my daughter, and the Caribbean steak tacos, which are usually my favorite left a lot to be desired. The tortilla was not hot. The steak was overcooked, and , it just didn't have that same pizzazz as they normally do at the Miami location. But I went there for tacos and those were really good the juice that you dip it in was kinda off it just seemed bland. Service: They don't really offer service here. My tacos came out first then my daughters came out over 5min later. I had to ask about them. They brought mine and didn't mention anything about her missing tacos until I asked. Our taco order came out and was good. But we waited for a while, and when they brought them out, there was no apology offered. Ambiance: Not food related but the bathroom stunk to high heaven. Not a temporary funk just an unkempt funk. Made me not wanna eat there. lol place was slow and dark. Nothing shot this location made me wanna go back. I came here with my son after spending a hot Sunday afternoon at the park. I had a coupon for free chicken tenders or a quesadilla (from the light menu) with a taco entree purchase. The restaurant wasn't busy when we entered a little after 2:45. There are two kiosks to order from. I had waited for an employee because I knew I had the coupon and didn't know how to account for that in the kiosk. The employee just took the coupon and told me not to ring up the chicken tenders on the kiosk, easy enough. I ordered the carne asada tacos (3) (14.99) with a blu-strawberry lemonade (4.99). The lemonade was amazing. Very refreshing and sweet. I would have loved another but I wasn't paying another 4.99. The carne asada tacos did not disappoint. Very flavorful and the portion size is great. I don't doubt whoever they have back there in the kitchen. My son (3 years old) enjoyed his tenders (3) and fries. For this to be deemed a "light" menu item, the portion size is huge. We definitely had two tenders to take home for dinner. I ordered on the Talking Taco app because my sister and I wanted to surprise our cousin during her lunch, I placed the order around 11:40 and it said it would be ready by 12:05 which was perfect because it gave my cousin time to eat. We picked her up and headed over. We got there by 12:10 and we know the location since it used to be Hot Chicks, and prior to that Submarine Crab boil. The decor has changed to fit Talking Taco, it was great, I love the art and decor. They had self service tablets. We told the person behind the counter that we were picking up an order, he looked at us and it was clear to us that he was not aware that there was an order. He asked how we placed the order and I told him through the app. We were told that they were "still working on the order" but that's code for they haven't started since they just saw the order after I mentioned I ordered through the app. We waited, hoping that our order would be finished in time so our cousin could eat. The manager at the time noticed that we have been waiting for quite some time and asked if he can get us dessert (tres leches) but we were not interested, we asked if we could have the lemonade instead. He said most certainly, it was very nice that he was trying to make up for us waiting so long, he brought a blueberry, mango and strawberry lemonade, they were all pretty sweet like candy but I liked the strawberry one the best. By this time it was 12:40 when we received our food. My cousin had to rush and eat so I'm not sure if she was able to taste it. My favorite thing out of everything we ordered was the esquites or elote. The grilled cheese birria came with tomato bisque, it was alright, not bad. The birria tacos were alright as well. I really enjoyed the steak rice in a fried tortilla bowl, I love the crunch with the rice, it just needs more steak. It is a little bit out of our way, so I wouldn't come back unless I was in the area. This was a quick find on Yelp. As we drove through the rain, we braved it out and arrived to the fun spot. We went at night and the inside was lit up with strobe lights. The orders are done on kiosks, which was user friendly. When we had questions, there were staff members that had answers. We sat outside under the covered patio and the order came out within 15 minutes. The strawberry Jarrito was a nice refreshment. The birria Ramen was great! The bowl was filled with consommee, birria, cilantro, and Ramen noodles. We split a side of Mexican rice, which was plenty for two people to share. The smooth service and friendly staff made us feel welcome and we enjoyed everything we had to drink and eat. Landed at FLL starving and was staying in Wellington, so found my way to Talkin Tacos. Yelp reviews were good and I love birria tacos, so off I went. Service was fantastic and started with a delightful person who helped me order at the kiosk and answered all of my questions, food came quickly (tacos and a side of guacamole/chips), both were excellent and very generous portions. Finally got a chance to stop in and try this place out. I am a taco lover to the core so I'm surprised it took me this long. I took away a star mainly because of the ordering setup. I am all about tech and efficiency but their setup is NOT efficient. You have to order from a kiosk and there are only TWO. The line gets backed up because if people are ordering a lot or not sure what they want, it can take forever. Now that's all the negative I have. Everything else is on point. The atmosphere the food and everything! I recommend the bang bang shrimp tacos and the birria tacos. I also got the southwest chicken taco. It wasn't bad but just meh.
