Hard to go wrong with Anko! We always find that Anko is extremely consistent with its bingsoo -- not remarkably better than other places in K-Town, but always great. The reason we come to Anko is the taiyaki. They're so good! We got 2 Nutella and 2 custard, which came out piping hot + super crispy. The combination of hot taiyaki and chilly bingsoo is so fun. In our experience, Anko is also less crowded than other places in K-Town (like Sul & Beans), which is nice if you're looking for a quieter evening. Finally gave this place a try since it was right across the street from dinner. We got tempted by the beautiful looking spheres of shaved snow in their pictures. Anyway, we ordered the STRAWBERRY & the GRAIN BINGSOOS. They came out picture perfect, but the flavor was a tad minimal. Y'know when bingsu places only put the toppings on top? NOT HERE! They put toppings in like the middle too. Saur good. THEIR TAIYAKIS are the best I've ever had. Each batch is made fresh and we've tried all the flavors except red bean. The custard is top tier. If you like mochi and chewy textures this is the place to get Taiyaki. Great place to grab some Korean shaved ice! We got here pretty late - about an hour before they closed but there still seemed to be a lot of people hanging out in the establishment. We ordered the Oreo cream cheese shaved ice and a black sesame slush (only because they ran out of the matcha latte :( ). The Oreo cream cheese was apparently one of their crowd favorites and I definitely agree - it was so goooood. The shaved snow was super soft and melted in your mouth and the Oreos/cream cheese balanced each other out super well! They gave us extra condensed milk on the side, but we didn't touch it because it was so delicious on it's own! This is the perfect size for two people. The black sesame slush was also good but definitely did not pair well with the shaved snow. If you get the slush I suggest you get it on its own! Parking wasn't free in the lot, but we had no trouble finding free street parking nearby. The ambiance was very casual and whole place was clean which I really appreciate! Would recommend! read more

The shaved ice quality was AMAZING; the syrup was layered with the ice, and the ice itself was extremely milky and creamy, almost like ice cream. It felt like you were eating the lightest, freshest ice cream but without all the fattiness that leaves you feeling heavy afterwards. I've had Korean shaved snow before but I was so impressed by Anko! My friend and I shared a strawberry shaved snow and I lowkey wish we ordered two. It's beautiful inside and out. The shaved snow looks like a giant snowball with thick fruit topping dripping down the sides. And the inside also has layers of the fruit jam so every bite has fruity goodness. It also comes with a small serving of condensed milk so you can drizzle as much as you like. The snow itself is so soft and melts in your mouth instantly. I think it's also a milk base and not just pure ice so it has a slightly creamy taste when it melts. I'm drooling just thinking about this right now. The taiyaki is life changing. It is made of a mochi like shell and the filling is delicious. The first time I came, we got custard and Nutella banana. The second time I came, we got the custard and red bean. There's just the right amount of filling It takes about 15-30 minutes to get it, depending on how busy they are, because it's all made to order. But the wait was SO worth it. So good! My friends and I came after KBBQ and we were stuffed but still wanted some dessert. We ordered the mango tokyo styled bingsoo and it came with condensed milk on the side. The bingsoo wasn't icy at all and almost tasted creamy. The interior design was so cute and the large windows let in natural sunlight which gave the store a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Been here twice pre-pandemic (first time got a matcha crepe cake and second time got mango and grain bingsoo), and twice during: First time since pandemic, our party of 4 ordered 3 bingsoo (matcha, strawberry, grain) thinking that the portion was for 1 serving. The second time, our party of 5 split a grain bingsoo (injeolmi/kinako) and ordered 4 taiyaki (2 flavors: red bean and nutella (they were out of custard at the time)). The bingsoo arrived first and the taiyaki took a bit of time to arrive, but when they did they smelled fresh out of the taiyaki machine (mmm). We asked the waiter which ones were which flavor because they all looked similar, but we ended up needing to open them up to know which one was which to split the taiyaki. Was super yummy, crispy on the outside and mochi-like on the inside. The nutella filling was super hot and was spilling out near the end (a bit messy). Would recommend for yummy bingsoo and taiyaki! I love the fresh tasting black sesame that was throughout the ice. They also gave us a black sesame cream to put on top, great for instagram boomerangs. We also got the taiyaki, I love how the texture is super chewy like mochi. Inside we got a Nutella with banana in two and custard in the other two taiyaki. I come here sometimes when I get tired of going to Sul and Beans. The parking lot is valet parking only so gotta pay $2 more just for a $10 bingsoo. Tried the strawberry bingsoo but they don't give as much strawberry as Sul and Beans so not a fan of that. However, they have a mint chocolate bingsoo with a finely grained dark cocoa powder sprinkled all over and a big scoop of chocolate ice cream on top. Tastes like a high end mint choco chip ice cream and I don't know any other bingsoo place that has this flavor! Bowl seems a little smaller than most other places but nothing too significant. As a shaved snow lover this is truly one of the best I've had. The texture gives you THE definition of snow - it's as if they scooped freshly fallen snow and built this dessert! It's what you imagine - creamy and refreshing at the same time. I had the matcha and the matcha glaze on top of the fresh creamy snow balances it so much and gives it LIFE. PLEAAASSE get it.
