I had the grouper tacos. The choices for the grouper are: fried, broiled, slightly blackened or more blackened. I picked the slightly blackened. My husband picked the "more blackened"; his had significantly more flavor. Mine was good; his was better. I had the Cole slaw as my side. It was very good, not mayonnaisey. Our waitress was very friendly, bringing me a second glass of iced tea, with extra lemon wedges, and then bringing a third glass, just in case. I asked if there might be to-go cups, just in case I could not finish my second glass and start on a third. Yes, she brought me a to-go glass!!!

Ashley was great! Beautiful view, excellent service, and spectacular food! I had the blackened grouper sandwich with homemade chips!

Our first visit here and it was great. I had the grouper tacos and they were terrific. I had the heavily blackened, other choices are broiled, fried or lightly blackened. The fish had a nice seasoned finish, but it could have been a little bit stronger. As a side you can have fries, Cole slaw or chips. I had their home made chips, very crunchy, very good. The staff were really, really friendly.

Mar Vista was such a beautiful restaurant. The service was great and the views were unmatched! The food and drinks were just fine but definitely come for the views and vibe. Loved the oysters and tacos! Will be back again.

Out of all 3 affiliations (Mar Vista, Beachhouse, Sandbar), this one is by far the most authentic Florida, by far the best staff, the best views and vibes, and really good food. We have been coming here for over 18 years, and it does not cease to amaze us. how much we continue to have unbelievable service. We have one of our favorite waitresses here who has been here for almost 16 years, Boryanna, she is amazing. She gets to wait on you, you will have a great time with immaculate service. I hope the authenticity of this place never dies, and that they do not change it too much from its lovely Florida charm.

Another dinner with friends before saying goodbye for the Summer Season. Mar Vista is adjacent to Shore with a more family/laid back vibe; both on Sarasota Bay at the North End of LBK. This time the temperature was hot as jet skiers were beaching their skidoo's and coming ashore to grab a bite of food by the water. Once again, we had the best table on the beach and Christopher took good care of us. My Pina colada was the perfect quenching drink given the temperature and no one complained about their drinks. My burrata and arugula salad was nicely drizzled and I included blackened chicken ( definitely need to remember this). Others ordered seafood medley, burgers and chicken. Just as we were finishing, a front began to come in and the wind picked up so umbrellas were closed and we settled our bill. A nice casual dining experience with great views and good food, nicely presented. Worth a return visit when we return.

Six of us came o4:00 on a Saturday and the place, which is in an exquisite location, is not packed. We sat outside under the mangroves and shade. It's beautiful. And they have fans going throughout. Zach was our waiter and quickly brought us water and the menus but then disappeared for 15 minutes. Not a great start to our early dinner. Because of the expected slow service, we ordered drinks, apps and entrees all at the same time. I had a rum runner which was okay. Apps came out - no plates (which we had to request) - but the calamari and crispy fries were delicious. I had the risotto with blackened swordfish. Tasty. Just the right amount of seasonings and portion. Others plates were equally well appointed and all enjoyed their meals.

Fantastic place on a quiet area of the beach where you can watch the boats & kayaks sitting under some very cool trees in the sand. There are several fans deployed to keep you cool! Our server Zach was chill & informative about the menu. We enjoyed some drinks & had the calamari with a unique dipping sauce based on coconut. I liked it although my husband prefers a spicy marinara sauce. He had the chicken sandwich - was ok - kind of dry with the tasty homemade potato chips. I had the peel & eat shrimp - delish with a side of broccolini. We enjoyed it immensely & will be back!

Party of 13 for an 88th birthday party and every single one of us loved the food! The atmosphere is amazing. Hubby and I loved it before it was remodeled since the Hurricane and now it's even better! Service was absolutely fantastic too! Will be back many more times. Highly recommend!

Such a pretty setting, delicious food, and good service! Any time we're in an area, and we are sure to visit Mar vista!

I ate here for dinner with my cousins on vacation and every single item was 10/10. We ordered the clam chowder, ceviche, sweet and spicy shrimp, and mixed green salad as the appetizer and every item was mouth watering. We had the crab legs and tuna pole as our entree. The crab legs were harty and cooked perfectly and came with slaw and fries. The tuna poke was fresh and flavorful. Our service from Elijah was 10/10. We also got the fresh spicy margarita and you can taste how fresh it was. No mixer just lime juice and tequila. This was the best part of our entire vacation and have not shut up about the food and experience since we left. Definitely recommend if you are in the area.

They were a kind of gratin and also came with a side of gravy. The gravy was rich and had deep, complex flavor. I would eat this gravy on almost anything. It's not bad but it's a place you come to for the vibe. We started with the kung pao calamari: a very interesting take in calamari. The sauce is sweet and the salad paired well, there was sadly much more salad than calamari but I enjoyed this appetizer. Burger: this was my favorite, it was cooked perfectly medium rare and the fries were really good. Baby back Ribs: the sauce was pretty sweet, it was the same one as the calamari, and also the same exact salad as the calamari, disappointed to see my entre was the same exact dish as the calamari but the sauce was on the ribs as well as the salad. It is more like an appetizer to be honest. Fried chicken: they were out of the chicken wings so they offered to use fried chicken breasts instead. The chicken itself was so dry and it had no flavor at all. Really disappointing. Nobu style sablefish: this was the only dish we really enjoyed, it was flavorful and nicely cooked. Would recommend this one Lobster mac and cheese: this one was okay, not a bad dish but needed more salt and felt a bit bland Basque cheesecake: another really disappointing dish, it tasted store bought and just thrown in the plate. Also disappointed that it claimed to be basque cheesecake but it was just a regular cheesecake so why call it basque Also worth noting that they were out of most of the dishes we originally wanted to order so we had to order something else. Get there early. The service was great, our server noticed we didn't like the cheesecake and took it off the check which I appreciated. Such a cool concept, but more importantly, the food and drinks absolutely delivered. We started with the Lobstercargots -- chunks of lobster baked in herbed garlic butter and served with fresh-baked focaccia for dipping. Forget escargot; this is the way to do it. The bread soaking up that garlic butter might have been worth the trip by itself. The Bistro Blue Tomato Soup was fantastic. Rich, smooth and full of flavor, with the signature syringe of Grey Goose. "Goose the soup!" Great presentation and even better soup. For the main course, the Famous Bistro Bouillabaisse was outstanding. Lobster tail, Gulf shrimp, grouper, mussels and clams in a saffron tomato broth, with more fresh-baked bread for dipping. Beautiful dish and absolutely delicious. And then there's the Street Corn Named Desire cocktail made with butter-washed tequila. What a drink! The street-corn garnish and seasoned rim make it one of the most creative cocktails I've had in a long time -- and it tastes as good as it looks. The Doctor's Office manages to be fun and clever without the concept overshadowing the food. Excellent meal, creative cocktails and great attention to detail. Definitely a place we'll come back to.

However, as I was walking into the restaurant, I was immediately approached by an attendant named Eric who asked, word for word, "Would you like to take care of that tip now?" I was surprised and uncomfortable by being solicited for a tip before I had even entered the restaurant. I am usually a generous tipper, but the interaction felt pushy and inappropriate. Unfortunately, when we left, Eric was waiting in the parking lot and approached us again. He ran up to my car and repeated, "Would you like to take care of that tip?" The second interaction felt even more uncomfortable than the first. I was born and raised in Manatee County and am very familiar with the parking situations on the island and the etiquette surrounding tipping. In my opinion, if tips are expected to this extent, it would be better to charge a parking fee rather than repeatedly soliciting guests for gratuities. This experience left a negative impression and affected an otherwise enjoyable outing. I hope management addresses how parking attendants interact with customers, because experiences like this can reflect poorly on the business and discourage repeat visits.

The restaurant is located on the floor of a small hotel. Parking can be tricky but available. Tables vary from family style to banquettes and high tops. There is a full bar with ample seating. Florida casual attire, after all you're on an island. I started with the French Onion Soup and my husband had the escargot. Both were excellent. For dinner, I truly enjoyed the Chateaubriand which is served atop of a carrot purée and their own potato au gratin made with Bleu cheese. These unique potatoes are pie cut and blend perfectly with the meat. It's a symphony for your tastebuds. Dessert was the owner, Buddy, mom's Ricotta Cheesecake. Homemade, Yes! Decadent, Smooth and Delicious, Oh my Yes! Want more, Definitely Yes! This restaurant is a hidden treasure. Yes, it is priced at a higher rate than most restaurants in the area, but the quality and service is also at a higher standard unlike any in our area.
