Beautiful ambiance here! Absolutely stunning restaurant. The bar area was like something out of a novel with the flowers draped over the liquor bottles. The place was packed on a Saturday evening! Came back and had an amazing lunch! I was so impressed by my tagliatelle bolognese - the fresh pasta was amazing as was the meat, which was super tender. My husband liked his gnocchi but I thought it paled in comparison to the tagliatelle, though still good. Our friend got the pork ribs entree and said they were good but didn't have enough meat in the bones so it wasn't much to eat. Although not advertised, they had an eggless kids pasta that my 15 month old daughter loved. We walked in on a Sunday when they opened at 12pm with no reservation as a party of 4 (3 adults and 1 baby - glad they had a high chair) and got seating outdoors under a shaded covering with a fan, but it was still warm (indoors was fully booked). I was sooo looking forward to our Valentine's Day dinner at Feast & Floret! Planned for an early bird dinner (5pm!) because we had tickets to a jazz show right after. Our table was in the same room as the bar but next to the fireplace. The bar doesn't have actual seating - they have tables in front of it which is nice and keeps the intimate, moody quiet vibe. It definitely had a romantic vibe with the fire, the lighting and lots of flowers throughout hanging from the ceiling. My only complaint is that there was a table with kids who were pretty noisy in the beginning. Not exactly what I was expecting for my Valentine's Day dinner but that's what I get for an early dinner! The food was excellent overall. We had a sense of what we wanted but then the server came over and told us the specials which threw us for a loop! I was dead set on getting pasta because Feast & Floret is known for their homemade pasta but we ended up ordering a few different plates: Quail Special - This was my first time ever having quail. The plate came out with 2 whole birds and to say I wasn't nervous would be a lie. It was a little salty (not sure if maybe it should be) but tender and delicious. It came with creamed Kale and nuts. Chilled Beets with Mint - Weird having with a hot meal but still so good. Butternut Squash Arancini -- A must try. You can taste a hint of butternut squash. It wasn't too overpowering. Affogato - The simplest dessert on the menu but worth it. Regarding drinks, try their Honey Old Fashioned. I'm not a whiskey drinker but always try my girlfriend's drink when we go out. Probably my favorite meal in Hudson! I'm so glad we made rezzies because this spot gets crowded, especially on the weekends. It's a gorgeous place though, it's like a farm to table restaurant nestled in the middle on a florist. The abundance of flowers makes the space feel so bright and welcoming. We got a few of their specials, including the crudo and the heirloom tomato salad. This was the only miss for me. I understand the importance of seasoning but the salad was a little oversalted it made it hard to taste all the wonderfully ripe tomato flavor. Presentation was beautiful though. For our mains, we split the corn cavatelli and the steak. This might be one of those rare occasions where the veggie dish really outshined everything else. The rye cavatelli was so unique and it really paired with wit the sweet, crisp corn. I would come back just for this is if I lived nearby. For dessert, of course we had to get the olive oil cake. It's been a week and I still think about the incredible meal I had here, namely the roasted squash and the cavatelli. We made reservations for dinner, and it's good we did since this place was super busy. I saw two stories with bathrooms on both floors. The reception was poor. Host was socializing with a table, saw us waiting at reception desk and didn't welcome us for a good 5-6 minutes - as if our patronage was a given. Table service was attentive. Meals were good though pasta portions are smaller than typical. Bookmark accomplished after a few years. Sitting on the very end of 3rd St in Hudson, NY is Feast & Floret's brick building with a farm-to-table menu and Italian ingredients for good measure. We were seated asap without a res., and after the ooh-ing and aaah-ing, we unwinded then forgot all about the other restaurants on bustling Warren St. And there are very nice ones- just saying. Feast & F. has a reputation for being one of the most popular restaurants in Hudson, and it's easy to see why. The food drew me in when I had bookmarked it, but the vibe is also a catch. The energy inside is cozy+chic+woodsy+boho+ flowery+farmhousey.The florist has the area decked out with stems and blooms- ready for you to pick and for the florist to do their magic. Between the natural, local and seasonal ingredients at Feast & F., I really think their secret is simplicity. Our shared fennel ribbon salad with pistachios+plums in a lemon+oil dressing was refreshing and drinks, were nice. The presentation of our dishes were simple- but it was the oohs and aaahs that continued right when I took a bite of my substantial halibut with roasted grape tomatoes in a divine tomato sauce and hubs, dogged his grilled pork ribs. Already, we were left stunned. And our chocolate+lavender(barely tasted lavender) dessert, was a nice ending. We went with the mushroom pasta, a Fish special, and a chicken Milanese along with 1 round of cocktails. Steep bill for what we got but it is what it is. Mushroom pasta was good and flavorful, however the portion was quite small. My dish of the chicken Milanese was lacking flavor and I had to request extra lemon multiple times to give it some more punch. Overall good food here, and definitely a great ambiance. This is simply an all-around stellar restaurant. The food, the service, the room (and the vintage charm of the whole space, including the bathroom upstairs), the cocktails...we were happy to be at Feast & Floret, and we'd happily go back. I started with the From Manhattan to Hudson, and my wife got the Tainted Lady. Both cocktails were excellent, and strangely apropos in their names. We took our time with the menu, as there were some intriguing specials and truly, everything sounded wonderful. After much deliberation, we settled on the beet salad, the ricotta gnocchi, the grilled pork ribs, and the halibut special. The beets were fresh and cool, set off by the tangy labneh and crunch of some hazelnuts. The gnocchi were impossibly rich and pillowy, tossed in a bright pesto that had us fighting over the last couple. (Be aware: Our waiter let us know that they are renowned for their pasta program, and justifiably so. However, these are Manhattan portions and prices, not "upstate" sized dishes.) Our ribs arrived hidden under a fennel salad, and they were somehow both tender, but with a delightfully crisp exterior - fantastic. The fish was properly cooked and seasoned, and we were so pleased with the whole meal that we couldn't resist the dark chocolate budino for dessert. My ricotta gnocchi entree was so minimal, it should have been listed under appetizers. In order to prolong my meal of 8 gnocchi pieces, I cut each one into thirds. My wife tells me that this is to be expected at a "fine dining" restaurant. What I don't expect is spending close to $40.00 for Italian food and leaving a restaurant hungry. read more

Feast and Floret is an absolute GEM, and I was so thoroughly impressed by the food and ambiance. The interior of the restaurant is romantic, cozy, and rustic. But the food itself was most impressive - I truly enjoyed everything that we ordered. As a party of 7, we decided to family style a few dishes, and the portioning was perfect for all of us to try each dish. I was completely stuffed by the end of the night. For our apps, we decided on the green salad, wood fired broccoli rabe, burrata, and their yellowtail crudo special. All ingredients are so fresh, and live up to its farm to table description. I really enjoyed the burrata, and the broccoli rabe had the perfect amount of char. Confit garlic cloves with the broccoli rabe were also *chefs kiss*. For our mains, I LOVED all of the pastas. The rye cavatelli was by far one of my favorite dishes of the night, and the soprese was super interesting. It packed a bit of a kick, but I enjoyed the texture of the pasta itself. Gnocchi were pillowy and not overly dense. The pork ribs were really tender, well seasoned, and paired well with the fennel salad. Maybe we didn't get the right items, but felt the food fell a bit short - the trout was overly fishy, and the seasoning on the squash just didn't feel like it went with the dish. A few issues with the service - firstly, our waitress was nice, when she was available, but was hard to track down, for example after saying we needed another minute to order, didn't come back for another 20 (it was 5pm, nearly empty). Another waitress was non-communicative to us, yet for the table next to us was smiling, chatting, and being friendly? It was weird, we didn't do anything to be treated any differently. My partner and I spent our honeymoon week in the Hudson area, scoping it out to potentially move. We are both in the industry so the food scene is critical to both of us as I'm a chef and he's FOH. We originally tried to show up Thursday at 7pm with no reservations, this place was mobbed, so we knew it had to be special, how special we wouldn't know until the next day as we decided to make a reservation for 2pm on Friday. (Moral of this part of the story is make a reservation, doesn't matter the time or the day, make the reso!! As soon as we walked in we promptly greeted by what turned out to be the owner Jason, as well as what I believe was the GM. (Sorry spaced on your name but you killed it) We were so excited to try everything, we did 3 apps and two entrees. The butternut squash Arancini were absolutely amazing, crispy on the outside, texture was on point! We had the truffle egg toast, it sounded interesting so we gave it a whirl, we may or may not have taught over the last bite of that. It had the perfect balance of truffle, cheese and a gooey egg yolk to moisten it up! The plum, celery, walnut salad, it seemed like the perfect winter version of a Waldorf salad with better flavor! I had the Bolognese, thank you for not serving marinara with ground beef, this had a perfect ragout with house made pasta! The Gnocchi, I got one bite of as my partner hovered over it like someone was gonna steal it from him, I'm that guy, I would have stole it after that bite! The highlight for me was watching the FOH work together , water, bussing, running plates , table touches. No one knew this was one of our honeymoon meals but you sure as hell made it so special for us! I even saw kitchen staff that walked out put a smile on their face, (almost unheard of lol) Dessert!! We had the olive oil cake (thank you Jason) , affogato, chocolate desserts! The portions were perfect, we left feeling good and not stuffed/bloated! Feast and Floret is a farm to table Italian restaurant that is in the heart of Hudson. My friend and I went on a Friday night without a reservation, BIG MISTAKE!! We got there fully expecting to be able to get a table and we definitely did not. They put us on the waiting list and I would say they were suppsoed to call me when a table was available and they never did. We went back hours later and the hostess said she tried to call, I don't know maybe something was wrong with their phone. But anyways we were able to get a table 30mins before they closed. The food was small portions (except for the piece of chicken which was huge) but they were delicious. You can tell it's high quality food and the prices reflect that. For two people with drinks be expected to drop at least $100. Our waiter was super nice and friendly. He answered our questions and provided perfect service. The ambiance of this place is 10/10. It reminds me of being in Italy with the stone walls and how cozy the place is. We got the table right beside the real working fire place which in my opinion is the best table in the whole place, I think the hostess felt bad about the phone call issue. I definitely feel like this is a cute date spot or girls night. It's a little pricey for this to be my daily casual spot but for a nice treat this is definitely a cute place. read more
