Wow... Wow... Wow. Annette's Café is the definition of a hidden gem! My wife and I were heading home from Gatlinburg when we stumbled upon this cozy little spot right off the highway, and we couldn't have found a better place for a warm, home-cooked meal. If you're looking for something local with real down-home cooking, BINGO--this is it! The atmosphere is simple, welcoming, and full of charm, making you feel like you're stepping into a small-town kitchen where everything is made with love. The food was absolutely fantastic, exactly what you'd hope for from a classic country-style café. From perfectly cooked breakfast plates to hearty lunch options, every bite was comforting and full of flavor. Our server was incredibly sweet and made us feel right at home, adding to the overall experience. Whether you're passing through or live nearby, Annette's Café is 100% worth the stop. This is the kind of place that reminds you why small, locally-owned restaurants are so special!

The place is cute and clean. Our server was sweet and took such good care of us. The food was amazing and hearty.

Fast service and good breakfast. Unfortunately our server (who was lovely) was yelled at by other servers and management a few times which really turned us off. The sausage and bacon were delicious but the pancakes were just okay. The restaurant was small but tidy... except for the cookie jar shelf which was covered in dust (kinda gross). Overall we'd go again but we aren't rushing back.

Huge portions, reasonable prices, good taste, good service, what's not to like about this country breakfast place. Recommended to you. Tip for owner, dust those antique cookie jars once in a while.

We aren't locals, but have a Cabin in Otto. Our entire family 25+ often visits "The Cabin" and Annette's Cafe has been a great find! We love all of the options there and try, to try something new every time. Kaylan is always very sweet! The food and prices are great, therefore we always come back! Today I tried the Blackberry cobbler, and within our first two bites my boyfriend said "I can tell this is homemade" Annette has a fine touch for cooking!

WOW! Huge portions and incredibly low prices. I'm adding a pic of the outside, as we almost missed it. The chicken fried steak was the best we've ever had and the corned beef hash was the perfect slight touch of salty. And for all of you who don't do pork, they have BOTH sausage gravy and regular white pepper country gravy. PS - my husband got a slice of the coconut cake to go.

Amazing and abundant breakfast. 10/10 recommend.

Hole in the wall definitely worth finding. My daughter and I really enjoyed our breakfast. I had an omelette and she had a biscuit. So. Much. Food.

Taters, over medium eggs (cooked perfectly), chopped steak, corned beef hash, pancakes and sausage.

Pathetic Mahjong event 05-14-26. This so‑called "Mahjong Tournament" was nothing of the sort. The…read moreorganizer clearly hoped to cash in on the current Mahjong trend without offering one single element of an actual tournament. No table assignments. No scoring. No prizes. No auction items. Nothing. The only thing remotely "tournament‑like" was the fee they charged. And let's be clear: this wasn't even a fundraiser for a cause. It was "bring your own tiles, sit with your friends, play in our room, and we'll serve you a fair‑to‑mediocre lunch"--a lunch that, as the owner proudly announced, didn't even include a basic cookie for dessert. Stunning. Then came the final insult. My friend's mother, who couldn't attend, had spent two weeks calling and requesting a refund. Repeatedly denied and given the run around. Only after persistent pressure did they begrudgingly offer a food‑only gift certificate--not merchandise--though maybe, possibly, someday, at some undefined later date, they might let her use it in the store. Maybe. But not today. What on earth was this event. I genuinely felt like I had stepped into an alternate universe where professionalism, integrity, and basic hospitality had been outlawed.

Poor service, poor food quality. Not impressed at all…read more Ambience is nice, very spacious, newly built, restaurant. Friendly staff. Not very attentive at all. Say for 15 minutes before the manager had to obtain a server for our table. After the food was delivered, the server did not provide adequate service. I requested a water refill, which took an additional 15 minutes, because she continually forgot. Food quality wasn't the greatest. They served chicken, which consisted of 2 thighs and 2 drumsticks. Along with friend catfish filets, that had been way over salted. Both were very soggy. I ate half the thigh and quit. Veggies? Only vegetables were Lima beans, everything else considered vegetables, was a casserole. A table full of starches. Over rated and over priced. Sadly disappointed. If you want good southern food, go further south to Thomasville, GA. Go to O'Neals. You can fool some folks, but not someone that knows southern cooking. We won't return.

The new Temu version sucks. So incredibly devastated and disappointed!! You should probably change…read morethe name along with all the other changes because this is NOT the Dillard House. As a local, I have gone to the Dillard House my whole life and it has always been one of my most treasured spots but sadly it will never be the same again. I visited for the first time since bought out by some Atlanta conglomerate called Legacy Ventures and boy did they just take the character and soul completely out of this place to make a buck. All of my childhood memories and the charm of the south, replaced with some generic millennial grey design bullshit and shitty recipes. Was the old place fancy and swanky? Absolutely not, but here in the country we like our charm like grandma's tried and true biscuit recipe: Not pretty but dang does it taste good. Thank God they kept the family style menu, but boy was the food NOTHING to write home about. I can't say that anything tasted as good as it used to. It was all cold and overcooked and certainly not prepared by someone from the south that knows what they're doing. The cured salty country ham that made your mouth water...bland and uncured. Missing some of the best staples the menu offered. Completely ripped out the country store and gift shop. I didn't want to believe the other locals when they told me what had happened, but now that I've experienced it, I'm not sure I can continue to support this place. They have replaced the kids from Rabun Gap that always worked there with people who are clearly not familiar with the place nor how to show Southern hospitality. I always admired the fact that they gave jobs to kids to learn how to serve the community and make a little money. Every kid should have that experience for character growth. I thought for sure I'd be able to bring my children here one day to experience the same nostalgia that is seared into my mind and heart, but sadly that will never happen now. Can we PLEASE stop selling out our cherished local spots to people who clearly don't know anything about the area or care to honor it? Let's keep the country the country and you city folk can do whatever you want there. It's also very clear that nothing is being done to improve these conditions with the onslaught of negative reviews from lifelong customers online. You may fool new customers that don't know what they're missing, but the lack of traffic on a Sunday proves the point that you aren't making changes to "honor the past experience and care about the feedback." Word of mouth travels fast.
