They have had a "B" rating for quite some time now. However, we try to support local businesses close to us. The food is decent , but the owner, Maria, is very rude. I think that is her name. We are creatures of habit and order the same menu items each time we come by there. While we have noticed each time we come by the price changes - sometimes higher sometimes lower, but never consistent. Just TWICE in the last two years that we've been going by there, we have questioned her about that issue. Yesterday was the second time and she started screaming at us that she used to appreciate our business, but all we ever do is complain and that she no longer wanted us to come by there. So we will abide by her wishes, but I thought I would give everyone a heads up to check your bill because sometimes it'll be three or four dollars higher or maybe a dollar lower. It is not worth the stress to go here any longer for convenience. I would rather go elsewhere and get decent or even better food. There are several Local diners in this area that we can support that do not change their prices depending on their mood.

Formerly a bank, converted to a family dining and catering business. Upon entering, guests are greeted warmly; directed to wash their hands in the restrooms. Then they're seated. All staff wore masks. Social distancing enforced. Sanitation of tables and menus. My friends recommended this restaurant. They offer lunch specials in addition to their regular extensive menu. My friends both had 2 piece fried chicken with fries and side. Each under 9.00 I ordered the Crab Cakes Sub. Oh my delicious. Leave room for desserts. We ordered the Lemon Meringue pie, tart, lip smacking delicious (no picture); my friend ordered chocolate turtle cake. Oh boy, portion very generous. Totally recommend.

The food is not great. Mashed potatoes were instant and green beans were out of a can. The only good thing was the banana pudding.

I have been here many times. They serve a nice breakfast (that is usually when I go). Staff is friendly. Prices are fair. Food is good.

They have very good food and good service. Home-cooked food. I think on Sundays they have a Buffet.

The meat and three along with the vegetable only options are welcomed changes to the family style only meal for those desiring smaller portions. In our experience, the food was served hot and was perfectly prepared. We chose white meat chicken and received two large breast that were excellent! The two catfish fillets and four slices of meat loaf were delicious. The vegetables were Lima beans, cabbage casserole, creamed corn, potatoes au gratin, slaw and a spring salad. All were served fresh with two biscuits and two corn muffins. The relish, apple butter and Sogrum-sage butter were delightful. We were blessed to have April for our server, and highly recommend her for your visit. She shared the history of the area and is proud of the changes and history of the Dillard House. Thank you for a great meal. The fried chicken is better than I remembered. Yes, the restaurant is open, and parts of the motel are being remodeled/updated and the new hotel is under construction. Don't let the remodeling deter you from the eating at the restaurant or enjoying your favorite drink from the bar.

Say for 15 minutes before the manager had to obtain a server for our table. After the food was delivered, the server did not provide adequate service. I requested a water refill, which took an additional 15 minutes, because she continually forgot. Food quality wasn't the greatest. They served chicken, which consisted of 2 thighs and 2 drumsticks. Along with friend catfish filets, that had been way over salted. Both were very soggy. I ate half the thigh and quit. Veggies? Only vegetables were Lima beans, everything else considered vegetables, was a casserole. A table full of starches. Over rated and over priced. Sadly disappointed. If you want good southern food, go further south to Thomasville, GA. Go to O'Neals. You can fool some folks, but not someone that knows southern cooking. We won't return.

The…read moreorganizer clearly hoped to cash in on the current Mahjong trend without offering one single element of an actual tournament. No table assignments. No scoring. No prizes. No auction items. Nothing. The only thing remotely "tournament‑like" was the fee they charged. And let's be clear: this wasn't even a fundraiser for a cause. It was "bring your own tiles, sit with your friends, play in our room, and we'll serve you a fair‑to‑mediocre lunch"--a lunch that, as the owner proudly announced, didn't even include a basic cookie for dessert. Stunning. Then came the final insult. My friend's mother, who couldn't attend, had spent two weeks calling and requesting a refund. Repeatedly denied and given the run around. Only after persistent pressure did they begrudgingly offer a food‑only gift certificate--not merchandise--though maybe, possibly, someday, at some undefined later date, they might let her use it in the store. Maybe. But not today. What on earth was this event. I genuinely felt like I had stepped into an alternate universe where professionalism, integrity, and basic hospitality had been outlawed.

Only problem we had was extremely slow service with the bar service. It took 10 mins for them to figure out where to sit us even with reservation. Our first drinks took 35 mins, second drink took another 25 mins to get. They were tasty when they did finally arrive. Everyone was super nice though. I do feel they should have comped drinks after that very long delay on both rounds. We ordered fried green tomatoes and they were not my favorite, too much corn meal and they were dry and hard to eat. My shrimp and grits were delicious and my husband fried chicken and Mac and cheese were great too. We ordered the ice cream for dessert it was good but nothing special and I would opt to try one of the full desserts next time. Overall such an adorable place and most of the food was really good. They just needed help with the bar service and maybe some more experienced wait staff they all were pretty young and green, but again very sweet.
