Cousin's that Brunch on a Sunday @annieruthswine. This black owned restaurant nestled in a strip along Hull St Rd, you'll find this spot where the vibes and customer service are amazing! We were greeted and seated promptly and our waitress was nice and welcoming. Their playlist top tier, lol! This particular day the mimosas were $4 (they run specials so be sure to check their page) and they offered an array of juices, I opted for one pineapple and one white cranberry (both refreshing 3.9/5). My sister ordered spicy bloody Mary's (typical with a lil spice, she did mention they were a bit watery maybe too much ice). We sampled the soft serve (vanilla and mint with whipped vodka) interesting combination, definitely gave dessert. The highlights of our meals: my sister ordered the chicken and waffle, she raved on the chicken breast stating it was perfectly seasoned and served piping hot! My cousin enjoyed her French toast and crisp bacon. Areas of improvement would be less cook time on the omelette as mines was scorched (sautéed onion, mushroom and mozzarella cheese) 2/5, the bacon was decent 3/5, I added a slice of toast 3/5 just plain toast was ok but the potatoes we all agreed could've been better, basic run of the mill potatoes some over cooked and warm (1.5/5). Overall I would return to try maybe a lunch dish thanks to my sister's recommendation on the chicken. If you're in the area you should definitely give them a try.

Annie Ruth's is a cozy little wine bar and bistro in a strip mall, I took my daughter for brunch to celebrate her 28th birthday, there were three people in my party. For drinks, My daughter had the Moscow Mule, (which I was very surprised she was not carded - she looks super young), the other guest had the Cinnamon Toast Crunch and I had the Jalapeño Margarita, which was very delightful. For Brunch, my daughter had the shrimps and grits, hold the bacon, she seemed to thoroughly enjoy, the other guest had French Toast and I had the chicken and waffles, I've never had flat waffles before, weird. With this being said, the service was amazing, overall brunch was just okay, not sure if this place is known more for it's wine than for it's food.

So my friend and I are staying in the area overnight for a wedding tomorrow at the Reservoir and found this spot within ten minutes of our hotel. They were at about 80% capacity or so when we arrived. We waited for about 5 minutes or so to be sat and then waited a bit longer for waters but our waitress was very good. There were only two for the entire store, about 45 people total, and one of them it was only her second day. We sat outside on the back patio and it's a nice, large space. A bit stuffy bc the windows are covered with plastic so it doesn't breathe as much as I thought it would back there... plus it was super dark with the lights off until right before we left at 8pm. For the amount of people and tables inside, the two young gals waiting tables were working their butts off. We did have to wait longer for everything we asked for, drinks, napkins, or whatever, but they were doing an awesome job and running around like crazy. I ordered the fried risotto balls which were delicious and served with parmesan cheese and thick tomato marinara paste that I suspect was straight from the can. I also ordered the Chicken and apricot chutney panini with spinach, brie, and prosciutto. It was good, but not that good, if you know what I mean. My friend was disappointed with her chicken alfredo, the noodles were overdone and it was bland. She ordered a side salad and it was HUGE and fresh and delicious with really good honey balsamic vinaigrette. Star of the show. My panini came with either a small salad or soup of the day and I chose the small side salad. Again, large and in charge, fresh, and a great lemon vinaigrette dressing. We bought cupcakes and cookies to go and were disappointed with both. The cookies were just bland in taste.... I tried one of almost everything chocolate Florentine cookie, a Black forest, a snowball, an almond tart and a raspberry tart cookie. The snowball was the best one. At $12.99 a pound, overpriced for the bland flavor. My friend loved the icing on her lemon blueberry cupcake but said the cake was not fresh. All in all - this is a solid 3-stars. The owner was friendly and walked around and talked to folks and for the amount of staff they had, they did an excellent job. Our waitress was harried and busy and had to have at least 25 people she was waiting on but she ran around, paid as much attention to everyone as she could, and kept a great attitude. I was very impressed with her and left a tip to show it bc I waited tables as a young adult and appreciated her hard work. There are many areas for improvement here - but the foundation is great. Service would be 4.5 stars, Food would be 3, ambiance 3 as well. Overall - going with 3.

Don't let the name fool you!! Here's the answer to your sweet tooth...and your savory one too! Yes, they have beautiful, delicious cakes, pies, pastries, cannolis, gelato, cookies and more, but they also serve brunch, lunch and dinner! Have you ever looked at a menu and were like... "Um, I'll take one of everything!" ? I'm a pretty decisive person, but their menus will change you into a vacillating blunderhead! Yes, I said "menus"... plural. They have a fabulous, thoughtful brunch menu...quiche me please! Their dinner menu has small plates, soups and salads for light fare... I'm anxious to try the prosciutto wrapped asparagus and the crispy fried risotto balls. Dinner also includes classic favs like chicken Marsala, filet mignon, salmon, penne ala vodka, burgers, pizza and wraps all made with their signature flair. For lunch they offer paninis like apricot chutney chicken, pesto chicken, and even a veggie choice! And for a gourmet grilled cheese... this is the spot! Yes... I can definitely eat my way through these menus!! The ambiance is oooh la la so cute and French! The owner was incredibly gracious, affable and funny. The desserts are beyond your sugar dreams! We had some gelato and cupcakes that were divine! They serve bar libations and also offer a selection of specialty coffees and teas! If I lived closer, this would be my weekly haunt! But I live north of the river and would gladly cross the bridge to dine at this family owned, well designed, creative bistro!!

My girlfriend and I had dinner here the other night and the service was so great. The owner talked to us several times and asked how everything was. We ordered several of the holiday drinks which were cute and creative. We had bbq wings (the sauce is to die for) and a burger that was cooked perfectly. The restaurant was CLEAN and inviting. I will definitely be back

What a great decision! When you walk in, you immediately notice that all of the wines are beautifully displayed -- it doubles as a wine shop, which gives it such a warm and welcoming vibe. It feels cozy but elevated at the same time. They don't offer flights for groups larger than five, but we were able to order one dealer's choice flight based on our preferred flavor profiles. From there, we could select a bottle inspired by the flight. A few of us gravitated toward reds. Our waitress was incredibly knowledgeable -- we told her the flavor profiles we liked, and she brought out three reds to try. The Wade & Wayfarer Pinot Noir was our favorite (so good!), though a bit pricier. We also tried the Alkoorai Cab/Merlot blend, which ended up being our least favorite. Ultimately, we chose the Denner Nightshade GSM -- excellent pick. Bonus tip: if you purchase a bottle $50 or more, there's no corkage fee; under $50, there is. Our waitress also mentioned that South American Merlots are the best Merlots as we all mentioned Merlot tends to be more dry. A few in our group ordered the Masterpiece Theatre cocktail on our waitress's recommendation -- she did not steer us wrong! Food-wise, everything was a hit. Our friends ordered the Cacio e Pepe burrata, pickled shrimp, Caesar salad, mushroom and leek flatbread, and the Brie and pear flatbread (both flatbreads were huge!). They loved every dish. My husband and I shared the bread with olive oil (simple and delicious), the charred octopus (tender with amazing flavor), gnocchi Bolognese, and lamb chops. Everything was fantastic -- the only small note was that the lamb could've been a bit more rare -- but still very flavorful. By the end of the night, all six of us agreed we'd absolutely be back. We're even looking into their wine club -- $60/month for two bottles (pickup required at the shop), which honestly sounds like a great deal. Apparently, they change up their wine flights weekly, which makes it even more fun and gives us a reason to return. Such a great experience all around -- can't wait to go back and try more wines!

It was rather empty. Our group of 6 plus four others, which means FAST ROTATION . The karaoke DJ was cool. The sound system is nice! Good mics, speakers, and song arrangements. He had a huge vault of songs... everything I asked for, he had. Some of which are not as popular as others. AND the best part, he could change the pitch to accommodate my vocal range. Some of my favorite songs are a bit too high, and I had to ask for two of them to be brought down 1/2 step. Songs ranged from 50s to current. Enjoyable singers all around and everyone was fun to watch. I got a glass of their tempranillo, which was perfection. Full bodied, super dry and delicious. I also got a pizza, which is kind of a personal size. Very thin. Good, but not great. Decor is nice. Newly renovated with mostly tables all on the same level, but also a couch area next to the TV, and about three bar seats. Plenty of room to spread out. The only thing keeping Gramophone from 5 stars is the lack of food options. Hope they're able to add some simple staples like burgers and fries or salads. Convenient location right on the corner of Forest Hill and Westover Hills Blvd. I'll definitely come back for karaoke and wine!
