    Side of scrapple

A side of scrapple, as cheap as scrapple is, should not consist of 1 burnt piece. Toast is not supposed to be hard and inedible. Everything else was good.

Blueberry pancakes, 3 pieces of bacon & eggs scrambled hard with cheese

We went on a Sunday around 11:30am for breakfast. I had blueberry pancakes, eggs scrambled hard with cheese & pork bacon. My Hubby had scrapple, egg and cheese sandwich and a side of potatoes. To drink I had starry he had iced tea. Everything was good. The pancakes were 3 good, average sized hot cakes. The blueberries was blueberry pie filling just on top. The fruit is not in the pancakes just on top. my hubby's sandwich looked delicious. It was sourdough bread, a thick piece of scrapple and plenty of eggs. The potatoes were seasoned well and had some Italian seasoning mixed in also which gave the flavor a nice little pop. We will definitely be back for dinner. The service was great and the ambience inside was also great light current music. The inside was nice and clean. They were about 10 to 12 booths and two large tables which could seat maybe 10 people each. However, when we drove up, the parking lot was full. There wasn't any place to park. We had to create our own parking space, but when we walked in, it was not crowded. There was still plenty of places to sit.

Genuinely enjoyed our experience here. A family owned business that puts care and heart into making good home style meals. Owner greeted us at the door and accommodated our large group. Everyone was pleasant and accommodating. Food was delicious . Will go again.

Where do I begin. Obviously a new business and growing pains but; 1. Asked prior to sitting if kitchen was backed up and informed no. 2. Service was extremely slow and took 20 minutes to get water. 3. Placed order and received food 40 minutes later. 4. Some food cold, whole order didnt come out together and portion size small for the money. i.e three small pancakes, one piece of small sausage and one piece of thinly cut scrapple. 5. For $40 after tip for breakfast definitely not worth it. Overall food wasn't bad but more time appeared to be spent on carry out food versus in-house diners. There wasn't an owner or manager presence to try to explain circumstances or apologize. Surely someone in the back had to realize the above issues for most patrons.

The very generous contents of our two platters -- everything was excellent.

Delicious full-service Southern restaurant with excellent prices! Going on a friend's recommendation, we went to Annie's for lunch this week. Since the place used to be a barbecue joint, we were surprised that it's now a full-service sit-down restaurant, complete with nice dishes and silverware, and very attentive waitstaff. The high-ceilinged space, which used to look like a barn, is now painted and carpeted, and furnished with a series of booths. We were immediately taken to our table by a waitress who attended to us constantly, and later were greeted by the owner, Jermaine (he named the place Annie's after his grandma). We told her that we couldn't stay more than an hour, and she got things moving right away. We ordered two dinner platters, each of which included two sides, and shared everything -- what a feast! We had pot roast, catfish, mac & cheese, collards, rice & beans, and mashed potatoes -- everything in very generous portions (we took a lot home!). Both meat and fish had a lot of flavor; I especially liked that the fried catfish was only dusted with flour rather than heavily breaded, and it wasn't greasy at all. And it was a big fillet. The greens were flavorful and a little spicy; the potatoes were rich and buttery; the rice & beans tasty and filling; the mac & cheese super-cheesy. And we each were also given a tasty, slightly crusty roll that sopped up the juices of the pot roast. How much did it set us back? $30 for all that! I hope that they'll be able to continue to bring such delicious food and service to the Route 210 corridor, where we've been short on such options. Definitely worth the drive south on the highway!

From the outside, it looked decent enough to warrant a stop, and since it's right next door to Grinder's Seafood (seafood lovers, your review is coming next), I figured why not make the trip worthwhile? When I walked in, three ladies were sitting at a small table, and one immediately got up to greet me and take my order. After checking out the menu, I decided on the rib and chicken platter--which does not come with sides--and the rib dinner with green beans and sweet potatoes. Of course, I couldn't resist adding an extra side of potato salad. While waiting, I took in the atmosphere. Dale's has more of a country store vibe than anything fancy, but that just made me think all the real effort was going straight into the food. And clearly, it was. My order was prepared and packed up quickly, but I didn't get the full experience until I made it home--and MAN! The portion sizes were huge. Definitely enough to get your money's worth. The ribs were tender, the chicken was perfectly charred and seasoned, and the sides absolutely delivered. That potato salad especially? Spot on. Dale's may be tucked away in old Indian Head, but it's absolutely worth the trip. If you're in the mood for hearty portions, flavorful barbecue, and no-frills comfort food, this spot deserves a visit. I'll definitely be back for the pork BBQ. Enjoy!

Starting with the pros: our server Milano was great. He gave great recs and was patient with us, he was also our bartender initially. I enjoyed my cocktail and my biscuits! The biscuits were fresh and I loved the sweet potato butter and peach jam. Cons: My entree. I ordered the tale of two fish with all catfish. I will note it took a while to get our food and I wonder if some of it had been sitting because it wasn't hot hot. But my fish was darker than one of my sisters who ordered the same thing and hard. A part of me thinks maybe the grease was old ? My grits were stiff and couldn't even be stirred (also not hot). As I was eating I noticed a hair in my fish, I let out sever know and he asked me if I'd like something else or for a new dish. I opted for a new dish and asked for it to go. That fish was cooked perfectly and the grits were edible. I also ordered a side of the crispy smashed potatoes and the potatoes were just small round potatoes with unseasoned onions and green peppers tossed in the bowl. Across our party someone's chicken (chicken & waffles) tasted old. And 2 people didn't receive their sides (eggs, potatoes) from the kitchen so they just ensured they were removed from the bill. I will say there was a lot going on that day (a pedestrian was hit in the parking lot) but I don't think that would have an impact on the kitchen staff. I'd possibly be open to trying another location but wouldn't return to this one.

The mixed veggies were absolutely disgusting-- gave them back.
