I really like this place. It's inside the Amish market, so it's crowded with shoppers; and a line for those who want entry into the restaurant. It's basic with no dedicated bathroom. I was in the Upper Marlboro area, early and decided to try this spot for a quick breakfast. The staff were very friendly and kind. It seems like a popular place as there was a line of people waiting for their food. After placing our order, the wait was around 15 minutes which wasn't bad. I want to give this review 4 stars but I can't because of the French toast. I don't consider myself a French toast connoisseur but the taste...left something to be desired. The man managing the counter is extremely rude and yet gets mad at customers when he incorrectly calls out numbers. I cannot believe the way he speaks about people when this is the job that he chose. What's crazy is that they know they need the local community but don't value the local community. I would recommend Laurel or any other location for breakfast in the DMV. He also speaks to customers so poorly when we don't have to be here. He should be ashamed to represent the culture and the faith! I will never be back. Stopped here last weekend for breakfast passing through MD. Located inside The Dutch Market on the right when you walk in. Location seemed very popular. . .we waited about 15 minutes on Saturday for a table. Not bad considering when we left people were waiting 30+ minutes. Staff were friendly and very young! No frills decor. Food was priced so reasonably, my breakfast partner wanted to order one of everything! Everything made fresh to order. I ordered egg platter with meat. Grits weren't out until after I was finished but they looked like some I would make at home. Turkey bacon we ordered came out nice and crispy too! On mission to get food for a festival at the Dutch Village Farmers Market, my significant other and I stopped for breakfast at The Kountry Grille. It's a quaint little diner inside the Dutch Market. Service is excellent, the Amish people are very kind and attentive. It was cute to see the Amish children helping. The food was good. I got the blueberry pancakes, bacon and eggs! When I visited the Dutch farmers market, I saw that the Kountry Grill was still open and seating patrons. So I decided to sit down and grab a bite to eat. I ordered two drinks and three meals and the total was $35. The food was absolutely delicious and the pancake that I ordered which was chocolate chip was very light and fluffy. I'm not sure what they put in their batter, but it was one of the best pancakes that I've ever had. It wasn't too thick. It wasn't too doughy it was literally perfect. My son ordered chicken nuggets and french fries and he enjoyed them. His fries were really good as well. And my eldest grab the pancakes which were strawberry topped with whipped cream, and he made his pancake a meal combo, which came with eggs and a choice of meat. We all loved what we ordered, and we even had enough left over to take home. It was a pretty decent size portion of food. Definitely returning to try some of their cold sandwiches because I love cold cuts and tuna sandwiches. However, I was focused on breakfast this trip. read more

Our first time there last week and the waitress services was horrible and the omelet veggie had too many onions. Waitress never did come back to check on us. The Amish lady came at our table and spoke and I told her we were waiting for our check and she had to go get Waitress. I love the Amish people hospitality and great customer services throughout the market. But the restaurant server showed horrible customer services and I also noticed she didn't bring us water. I had to go to my car and get some because she never came back to see if we needed anything else and when she finally came to give us our check, she didn't say anything not even thank you. read more

The Kountry Grille where it is actually worth the wait. It is located in upper Marlboro in the Amish Market and it is inexpensive and delicious. My gf and I have made this our every weekend spot and we love it. I personally love their omelette (egg white) because I gots to watch that cholesterol with the veggies and Turkey bacon and Turkey sausage. Their pancakes are also amazing even though I'm not a pancake person. Their pancakes are just the right amount of light and fluffy. The service is great and the staff is really friendly. It may take a while to get your food though but they are literally making everything from scratch and not just from a jar or premade stuff. It's not noisy or particularly quite either but the place is busy because it is in the Amish market where you have people purchasing items, groceries, etc. If you are in upper Marlboro and what a good breakfast that is inexpensive, this is the place to go. I highly recommend it along with the French vanilla cappuccino. read more

The Kountry Grille is the restaurant located inside the Dutch Village Market. When you enter, it's on the eastern section. Their menu is pretty extensive, as they offer breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert options (such as omelettes, waffles, pancakes, meatloaf, pot roast, melts, a modest salad bar option, pies, etc.). What they are really known for is their '99c AYCE pancakes' from 8 - 9AM - YES, only 99c for stuffing your face to the maximus on buttermilk pancakes! My husband and I each did the AYCE pancake special (comes as 2, and there's a bottle of maple syrup and packaged butter at the table), chipped beef, sausage gravy, a side of pork sausages/bacon/scrambled eggs/homefries with cheese, and their homemade toast and biscuit. The pancake was nice and fluffy, and a good size. The chipped beef was pretty good, and I was a fan of the sausage gravy, as it wasn't salty but had a nice peppery kick with good chunks of crumbled sausages within. The homefries had some crispy edges, and the cheese sauce was a little forgettable (as it wasn't as salty and thick as I would have liked; it's more of a nacho cheese consistency). They open 1 hour before the main Market does, so keep that in mind (even during the special holiday hours!). I can't believe I've never been to the Dutch Market before! open Thurs, Fri, Sat. This restaurant is inside the market. The Amish waitresses are incredibly sweet and attentive. Be prepared to stand in a line if you arrive somewhat late on a Saturday morning. (they open at 8am, but when I was there the line really got long around 9:30/10am.) The food was very yummy. I took my family here this morning for breakfast. If I could give this place zero stars I would. After being seated we waited another 40 minutes to receive our food. When the food arrived it had a long piece of hair on top of the pancakes. To make matters worse, our server Emma pulled the hair off and said she didn't see it when she served it and she kept it moving. Gross. The rest of my family made an attempt to eat the overcooked eggs, the microwave sausage, and the disgusting pumpkin pancakes. Came across Kountry grille by chance being in the area for a kids soccer event. When I found out it was at a Dutch market I knew the food would be good. I was pleased to be correct in this and more pleased about the nice service. This is right in the market so it's not a ton of space but the aroma of pancakes and bacon make up for it. The only thing I wish they did was have some kid size items in the menu. Seeing as they ate just about all of it though must mean they liked it. Gotta get there early for the pancake specials. read more
