We've eaten here before and we really like the food. But today we ordered takeout and were told it would be ready in 23 minutes. After sitting in the front over 30 minutes and over an hour after we had ordered, the host said there were still two orders ahead of us and he "understood" if we wanted to cancel. Why would I want to cancel a takeout order I already paid for (and tipped 20% on) after waiting 40 minutes for? It would have been much better customer service to apologize much sooner, like as soon as you realized it was going to be significantly late, and/or offer me a coffee while I waited. Also, if a takeout order includes traditional and gluten free pancakes that otherwise look alike , please label them to avoid risking the gluten intolerant customer becoming ill. read more

This I not where you want to go. I stopped in for a quick bite with my girl and we're leaving still hungry . First off parking is horrible. They only have pick up parking in the front. There's additional parking in the rear put its so far away and you'd have to walk this hill along the way before you get back to the entrance. The server was great but whoever they have in that kitchen sucks! I ordered an omelette and my plate came out dirty. The fruit looked soooooo old that the grapes were turning brown and my omelette was totally burnt. the location near perimeter mall disappoints. Went there two weeks ago for my husband's birthday and the first serving of food was either cold or overcooked. The manager fixed that, but the rest of the meal was disappointing. Either the rest of the meal wasn't seasoned well or not to the quality I expected if I had dined at other cafes in the area. They didn't even have a simple piece of cake for the occasion. The last straw was when the manger didn't return to our table to ensure our needs were met or comp a meal to make sure things were right. After reading the reviews we figured this would be a nice spot to try for brunch. We were surprised to find the wait was only 15 minutes but that is the only good thing about our experience today. We sat and ordered after looking over the menu. The drink came out relatively quickly, but we waited for 45 minutes for our food to come out while other tables who sat after us got their food. We asked our server after waiting 45 where our food was and she left to check. We were disappointed with the food considering we had waited so long. We also made no alterations to our orders and ordered a Belgian waffle combo, chicken and waffles and country potatoes. The food was average compared to other alternatives available in Atlanta. Please note: the restaurant was not seated to capacity and there was no line out the door for seating. Had our server let us know the food was going to take a minute to come out we would have completely understood. After passing this restaurant multiple times over the past few weeks, my wife and I decided to try it for breakfast (Sat, 5 Nov). We walked in and were cordially greeted by the hostess and taken to our table outside (the restaurant was half full, at best). Shortly after, our server, Angel, came up and took our order, which included coffee. The coffee came out after about 10 mins (surprisingly slow) and then .... we waited. 20 minutes later, we asked the hostess if she knew why our order was taking so long. She left and a few minutes later, Angel came out to tell us our order would be out in "3 or 4 minutes". 15 MORE minutes later (45+ minutes AFTER ordering) with still no food, my wife and I decided to cut our losses and leave. We gave $5 to the hostess to give to our server (the slowness clearly wasn't his fault) and then went straight to The Flying Biscuit in Buckhead. Having just read many of the negative posts on this restaurant, it's clear that they suffer from slow service. Whether that's due to a short-staffed kitchen, bad management or some other reason, I can't say. One thing I can say though .... my wife and I will NEVER be back. Went to the Buckhead location this weekend and ordered the goat cheese and blueberry pancakes, with a side of eggs and sausage, and decaf coffee. The waitress was nice, the service was good, the sides were okay, and the pancakes themselves were actually delicious. That's where the good news ended. The coffee, though hot and fresh, was just plain nasty, acidic and bitter. It took 4 creams and sugars to be able to drink it. I can drink coffee unsweetened if it is GOOD coffee, but this was like battery acid. The toppings (I was picturing a creamy chevre goat cheese floating over the top or in between the stack) but it was in fact only a sprinkling of dry goat cheese crumbles around the edge and if there was a teaspoon's worth on the plate I'd be surprised. I counted exactly 13 blueberries for 3 pancakes, which was astonishing. What, did the kitchen run out? I give one star because it was like false advertising as far as I'm concerned. Really difficult to decide how to rate this particular location. While we know the restaurants are franchises, we love Another Broken Egg Cafe. Our son is a college student in Auburn, Alabama. We did not know about their call ahead waiting list, so when we tried to go to that location on Family Weekend in September 2021, there was a three-hour wait, and we had to pass. We went for the first time in January 2022, and the food and service were fabulous. We were back in Auburn and went back to that location in early August 2022. Again, fabulous. We were again in Auburn this past weekend, but staying in east Alabama (Phenix City). We were flying out of Atlanta, so instead of going to the restaurant in Auburn, we decided to drive 114 miles, going past the airport to try the location in Buckhead, prior to our flight. We telephoned the restaurant when still one hour, forty minutes away. Lizzie answered the phone and told us we were good, and they would have a table for us. When we arrived, we were immediately escorted to a table (even though a few other people were waiting). Unfortunately, after ordering, we waited nearly an hour and still had no food. (We did receive coffee as soon as we sat down.) That was problematic, because we needed to get to the airport. Ultimately, management came over (actually, not sure if it was a host or an owner; the gentleman told us that the manager was now in the kitchen personally cooking our food, so presumably he was not the manager) and was very apologetic and pleasant. Food ultimately arrived and was excellent, as per usual. But we had to inhale it quickly and leave, rather than taking time to enjoy our meal. So, a 5 for quality of food. A 1 for service time. Final rating higher than averaging the two, because of the personal interaction with ownership/management. read more
