The food arrived hot and stayed hot (unlike First Take) Negatives: 2 breakfasts + 2 iced teas + tip = $43.00. Unworldly. Extremely loud--acoustics, music, and a clientele of almost entirely 20 something students (with a lot of disposable cash). Don't get the sausage--it was extremely salty, almost inedible. Really enjoyed a Sunday Brunch here at the College Station location. I ordered the Pumpkin Belgian Waffle and it was delicious (no syrup needed) with the pecans and butter mixture. It also came with eggs and bacon. I'll be back for sure. Order a nice drink...this time I had a salted caramel cold brew (21+)...it was great, but sweet. We've gone to the "Another Broken Egg" in the Woodlands Texas for years and it's truly one of our favorite places to eat. The entire staff is friendly and sharp. This particular location in College Station can't hold the Woodlands location's jockstrap. We've been to this location in CS several times now over the last year and it was a disappointment every single time. First, the service: the wait staff is young and immature and lacks a pride for the work they do, and it shows. This morning we were greeted by a young man who looked as if he hadn't even slept the night before, was still drunk or high, and couldn't bother to say hello or make eye contact. He looked like he'd rather be doing anything other then serving us. It set a mood and not a good one. When our meals arrived there were several errors to our order. I had ordered a gluten-free option, which the server had forgotten. Also both of our fruit salads had pear that had gone quite brown and when we pointed it out to our waiter he looked at us as if to say "what is the problem?" Even though our waiter today was pleasant and friendly, he lacked the maturity and self awareness to be "on it'. The quality and flavor of the food was good but not exceptional like the Woodland's branch. We've given this location several chances to get it right but this will be our last visit. It's too bad considering how much we have loved the chain. I could be more descriptive about similar issues throughout all of our visits regarding the ambiance, the service, the food quality and the overall experience. But, instead I'll end it with simply this. This is a restaurant that takes it's lead in the kitchen, on the floor and at the door from whoever is in charge and this location is about as frustrating as a dull knife. read more

Best brunch and amazing service in the area! Our waiter, Trey, was so awesome. Prices were reasonable and food was excellent! Mimosas were great! At our table we had, Broken Egg Breakfast Sandwich (perfection), GF Bananas Foster (did nothing taste GF at all!), coffee infused pancakes (just right amount), and Lemon Blueberry goat cheese pancakes (so delicious)!!! This is an awesome addition to our breakfast options in Bryan-College Station! The shrimp and grits are a generous portion of truly some of the best you've ever had! I recommend upgrading to city grits for even more deliciousness! I'm not a huge fan of their regular coffee but try the Ipanema coffee with free refills, it's great! I've also had the lobster and Brie omelette and it was great and my daughter Is a huge fan of the Hey Lucy omelette but I just keep going back to those wonderful shrimp and grits! This was hyped up by family but it seems that they have removed menu items that we have heard about. Specifically they had a BLT with fried green tomatoes, but it no longer exists along with other items shown in pictures on Yelp. My wife had a crab Benedict and I had the New Orleans scramble(?); both pretty mediocre in flavor and the scramble in portion size. We took one of our dogs to A&M to the veterinary center. They needed to run tests and we needed to kill a few hours. We live an hour away. We've eaten at several ABEC spots in the past including this one. I've never been overly impressed but my wife likes the place. I always order eggs benedict at any breakfast place we go to that offers it. It's always been ok at ABECs but this visit was different. It's a college town which means college age employees and guests. It was about 10:30am on a weekday and the place was slow. The hostess looked at us when we came in and then proceeded to never look at us or speak to us again. She seated us in the bar section of an almost empty restaurant right next to a couple of young ladies. No reason to put us that close when there were plenty of empty tables. The waitress was pleasant enough but extremely soft spoken in what seemed like an overly loud place. The eggs Benedict was awful. When she brought it to the table I had forgotten to ask for additional hollandaise sauce, so I asked then and she she brought it when I was done eating. Great! The English muffin was so hard and chewy that I had trouble cutting it not alone chewing it. The ham was hard and cold and very tough to chew. The eggs were the smallest I've ever seen?? The potatoes though just warm were very good. Waitress never came around to if we wanted coffee refills or anything. My wife had an omelette that she said was just ok. Only ate a small portion and brought the rest to the dogs. Very disappointing. Next time we'll kill time somewhere else. read more

Great atmosphere and packed but was able to sit almost immediately. Couldn't decide what to order so ordered 3 different items off the menu. A crab cake, waffle, and biscuits and gravy. Honesty couldn't decide which of the 3 were my favorite. My girlfriend ordered Chicken and waffles and a half order of biscuit beignets. Both were amazing as well. It's been open less than two weeks and I've been four times! The cinnamon roll waffles are amazing and sell out so if you want them get there early. My favorite on the menu is the turkey and mozzarella panini. OMG! The best sandwich I've ever had! Everyone is friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is fresh and bright with huge windows and lots of light. The only negative...didn't take long for the word to get out and the wait can be long. Tip...the earlier the better. No wait before 9:00. Also, they could utilize the outside seating for service to help with wait times. For now, it's just used for overflow places to wait for your table. read more

Hungry for brunch, I stopped in a few days after the grand opening. The staff met me with a smile and did a great job of making my visit pleasant and filling. So we literally waited for an hour for a table outside after they told us it would be 20 minutes. Then the manager comes in with his family and takes the table inside so we have to sit outside in the wind while it's fifty degrees out. Nice atmosphere. The lobster and Brie omelet sound good but was too salty. I took one bite and couldn't eat it. I took it home thinking it might taste better after being refrigerated and was disappointed. Even more disappointed when the manager came around and I told him about the salty omelet and there was no apology or offer to try something else. I don't recommend them for the breakfast menu and will not go back. I don't mind paying $45 for breakfast if it's good food. This was not good. read more

Finally checked this spot out! I had their new coffee-infused pancakes and they were great, the caramel drizzle really made it for me. The portions are generous and it comes with eggs / meat on the side which I was not expecting either. I mentioned to the waitress that I wished there were more strawberries on top and she just brought me out a little cup full of them!! That really made the experience for me- thank you so much. This place recently opened up and my friend and I came to eat here for lunch! OMG let me say...I first started with the Barista House Blend Coffee. I loved the little mug they served it in. Absolutely delicious...not bitter, not sweet, just a subtle coffee you can enjoy here. I took some to go :)! I tried the Granola, Fruit & Quinoa Power Bowl. Holy moly guacamole...ladies and gentleman if you're looking for a healthy dish with natural sweetness from fruit, this is your best bet here. The coconut milk drizzle added to the dish was sending me to heaven! None of the ingredients were overwhelmingly masking the other ingredients. Well-prepared and excellent presentation. We had to learn how to manage the reservations and had a little wait. The waitress (I wish I had gotten her name) was off the chart. The very nice Lady owner was the very pleasant and enjoyed the conversation. The waitress introduced us to her choice's of flavorful mimosas for my son and I. She even introduced my daughter and I pomegranate Moscow mule. Food was off the charts I had the crab cake eggs benedict but all of us had to sample each others.
