Upon moving from Midtown to Doraville, I had been looking for a breakfast/brunch spot where the french toast measured up to Highland Bakery in Midtown. I think we found it! We tried to order from Another Broken Egg Cafe online (website + DoorDash) and over the phone and neither were successful, there was a note that they'd "stopped taking orders" an hour and a half before they closed - which I thought was very strange. The only way to get this food seemed to be to go into the restaurant, which thoroughly annoyed me. I ordered the cinnamon bun french toast with a side of eggs and potatoes -- to go. It was packaged perfectly, separate containers for everything. The rum drizzle sauce and the cream for the top of my french toast was absolutely perfect. I'll probably continue to order from here on weekends but they really need to fix the pick up option and allow customers to order ahead. That's the only thing that stopped them from getting 5-stars from me. Food and quality were great! read more

This place is pretty busy. We had to wait to be seated but it was brunch time. But once we got to our table. The server was welcoming and helpful. The place and loud and busy. Whew child save your money and your time! For the life of me I forgot why I never come to this location! They have call ahead, do it to avoid a long wait. Don't misunderstand me, even if you don't do that, it's worth the wait. They have seasonal specials on the menu. The portions are on the big side but not to excess. If you are from the south and you don't do butter and sugar in your grits, this is your place: the mix of cheese, bacon and scallions are a taste bud explosion. Excellent! Just awesome! We had the seared scallops omelet with the city grits and we tried the peach cobbler pancake. Baaaaaaabeee when I tell you that food was good, I tell you no lie! The grits were amazing! Smooth and creamy mixed with Gouda and topped with bacon, scallions, and diced tomatoes. I was mad I didn't have more! The bar tender/server Kim (Kimberly) was so friendly, polite & attentive. She anticipated my seating & had water ready within seconds. Asked if I wanted coffee. I had a menu & plenty of time to choose. Kim was constantly surveying the room & on top of every single order/table. I chose the same items from the last visit to see if there's better quality. Bourbon Street pancakes w/ chicken sausage, eggs over hard & a hot chocolate. She was transparent about the beverage not being sweet, but she hooked it up with a shot of vanilla & plenty whipped cream. My food arrived extremely hot & fresh. Personally, the food and beverages were definitely not worth a 1.5hour wait. They do not accept reservations and with my personal experience (unless if you stay on top of your check in), others who came after who are the exact same party size will be sat; I'm not sure if this is just the staffs preference or not. The mimosas were a disappointment, as I found myself even saying IHOP's mimosas are better. The food was nice and the portions were decent; I would say similar to that of the Cheesecake Factory. My group of 13 met here for breakfast on a Saturday. Parking is plentiful. I was late, but my entire group was already seated with drinks when I arrived. Our server took my and my son's drink orders shortly after we arrived. Also if it's your first visit, let them know and they'll give you a free basket of their biscuit beignets! Service was fast, and the food was truly delicious! I only wish I got more of the eggnog whipped cream (21+) on the waffle, but even without it, the gingerbread flavoring permeated almost enough to eat it without syrup! I'm not actually a fan of lobster (and being from the low country I prefer shrimp in my grits :P ) but the grits were so flavorful, rich and creamy! I've been here a few times for breakfast and it's consistent. Good service and and it is usually a decent sized crowd but never overly busy (at least when I've visited) The menu is traditional southern style with some creole dishes on the menu as well. I had the buttermilk pancakes with bacon and eggs with cheese. The pancakes were average but not bad, the eggs were a little cold like they were sitting out waiting for the rest of the food to be prepared. The bacon was a little harder than I like it, but that's personal preference. The wife had the hash brown Benedict (eggs Benedict over hash browns topped with poached eggs, mushroom herbed hollandaise and red peppers) the hash browns were crispy and good and the eggs Benedict and hollandaise was good as well. Throughly enjoyed my breakfast and cocktail! I had the city grits which exceeded my expectations. But what I loved most was the option to switch out the poached egg for an over easy. The high spot of my weekend. Uber eats so I didn't get to experience service so I couldn't judge to full potential. The food however, was very good. The city grits had so much flavor- the cheese, the baked bacon. I chose cinnamon French toast and I'm so glad bc they tasted great. All the sauces were on the side so I got to control my sweet factor and it worked out perfectly. The handmade sausage patties you can certainly taste the difference. He finally left the table and asked for a spoon. We also had to find someone to take our order. About 5 minutes later the food came out, room temp, but no silverware. The woman had to go back and get silverware for us. The dining area was cold, perhaps the heat was not working. The few people in the dining area kept their coats on. The patio is dog friendly...And they close at 2pm ...They do host special events....They are located in the same plaza as UFC ,Americas best and Walmart. My girlfriend and I came here Sunday morning early before any crowd and sat immediately. Our waitress was the biggest issue. Cold and almost rude to start. Tossed straws on the table while looking away to talk to us. Felt like we were interrupting her day at 9am. Most of the food came out okay, eggs were extremely overcooked. The waitress never came back to ask about the food or if we needed anything , no refills of coffee or water. Then walks past multiple times without engaging or looking at us, proceeds to eat and have a conversation at their station right next to our table. I practically had to yell to get our check.
