Went to this restaurant on a rather busy day and was so pleasantly surprised. Their parking is plentiful (they validate, just ask) and the restaurant decor is very fresh and modern. Price is fair for a fairly nice place...they're inside the Le Meridian hotel, so I expected high prices. The food was fantastic, the pastries were the highlight of the night. Their pastry chef deserves a Michelin star! Only downside is they have Pepsi products since they're a Marriott property...that needs to change. Worst part of any Marriott is the Pepsi. read more

Was hungry and it was a nice day so figured I'd get out and visit this spot. Unfortunately, there was a private event going on in the main dining room so I was offered to dine at the outside bar. There was not much of a scene around, but I sat at the bar and ordered the Fig and Prosciutto Flatbread and the Tom Yum Mussels, both of which actually turned out to be very tasty. The bartenders were just ok, not mean but not exactly the friendliest...just doing their job whenever they were present. Overall, not an amazing experience or anything, but it was pretty average. read more

Portico is located inside of the Le Méridien hotel but it's somewhat separated from it and feels more intimate unlike some others (take JP, for example). I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could as I'm on the fence between 3 and 4. They obviously have a full bar, otherwise they won't make it as a hotel restaurant lol. I ordered chambord manhattan and it was decent. For my app I went with grilled Malaysian shrimp - this dish was delicious, the shrimp was plump and juicy. My main dish consisted of Lamb shank with mushroom risotto - excellent! Not overcooked for once! I love this dish when it's done right but most of the time they kill it by hours and hours of overcooking. Yes, it's very tender once it gets to you but it tastes like nothing, just mush.. Portico managed to make it perfect. Overall: sleek decor, good service, patio, full bar, self parking. Worth a try if in the area or staying at the hotel. read more

Not impressed with this spot. Went there for lunch with four peeps and even though we were the only ones in the place, it took a really long time for our food to come (two sandwiches, one bowl of soup and a burger). We also ordered two appetizers: Malaysian Shrimp and pumpkin Ravioli. The shrimp was delicious, but the ravioli did not taste good at all. We ended up leaving half of it on the plate. Note: even though it did not get eaten, we were never asked about it or offered something else in exchange. One of our party ordered a specific salad with added chicken and the waitress came back to tell him that he had a old menu and that the item he wanted is no longer available. Really?? An old menu - why have they not been destroyed?? I ordered my burger without the bun and it came without any of the sauce listed in the menu. When I asked for it, the waitress acted like I was asking for something unusual. Even though the atmosphere is very nice, and it is quiet if you want to have a conversation, I will not be returning here for lunch. read more

Overall, I'd say that it was pretty good! My biggest issue is the price -yikes! I didn't really feel like the food was all that special for how much was charged. But onto the food reviews: I ordered the French onion soup ($10 - lol you're kidding right?) Nope, not kidding. It tasted great! I just wish the price came down a bit. There was not anything special about this for a cup of it to be ten bucks! For my main entree, I got the Tuna Poke. The portion was VERY small, but it was packed with flavor and felt like a pretty healthy alternative to some of the other choices on the menu! Dessert was excellent! Not a single complaint here! I enjoyed the Vanilla Bean Creme Brûlée. Yummmm! It even had little fresh berries on top. So good! Overall, I probably won't be back because I don't want to pay that much again, but the food tasted nice! read more

I love Portico! I come often,even just for a glass of prosecco since I live close. Food is great, service is outstanding, and overall a great place. I was just there meeting a friend this past Saturday (and PS- parking is free) , and orderd shrimp and grits. I mean, OMG! Fantastic! I never take food photos but I had to, it was so good! Corporate traveler - this is the worst breakfast buffet I've had at hundreds of hotels. Roadside roach hotels are better.

We came to this restaurant because I had one a certificate at the bar a few weeks ago! The hotel is beautiful and the restaurant is not an exception. We order rib eye, the salmon , the risotto and the Lamb Shank. I can only speak for the risotto and the Lamb, they were amazing. The Lamb is a huge portion, proceeded with caution. The risotto is a small porting and perfect for one person. The flavor in both dishes was amazing. We also had the salmon and prosciutto flat breads. They were both delicious and they just melt in your mouth. The place was not busy for a Friday night but I highly recommend it for a great food experience. read more

This review is for the restaurant named Portico in Le Meridien hotel in Atlanta. The Executive Chef who also serves as the Manager of the Restaurant, is unaware that he is in the hospitality business. He assesses an upcharge for parmesan cheese requested with his ravioli dish. "Yes" you read that correctly. This restaurant charges for grated cheese with their ravioli. The Chef's explanation: "The cheese is not part of the meal." This ridiculous upcharge annoyed me so much that the bartender lost out on at least one more round of drinks and the tip that would have been left for them. Is there a charge for salt and pepper? Or a lime in a cocktail? Or sugar for my coffee? Where does it end? Customers don't know because this foolish policy is not mentioned on the menu. If someone at Le Meridien thinks this is a brilliant strategy to boost margins, they need to simply walk across the street to Capital Grille or any of their competitors and witness real hospitality professionals at work. read more

Parking is $14/car unless you come on Fri/Sat. Called to ask about parking on Monday, as the only parking nearby without a tow warning sign was $14, to see if it was validated but the host on the phone was extremely rude and just told us to park there. I asked if it would be validated and he hung up. There are so many other restaurants in the area we decided to leave. The restaurant was completely empty for a reason...Not worth $14/car to go to lunch. read more

I've eaten here at least 5 times and the service and food are absolutely exceptional. Their ribeye is seriously one of, if not THE best steak I've ever had. It melts in your mouth like butter. The mashed potatoes are perfect as well. If you like steak and are in the Atlanta area, this is a must try. They blow every other premium steakhouse I've been to out of the water at nearly half the price. Possible to find a better steak somewhere on this planet? Maybe. Better value for a steak? From the bar I have ordered everything from the pork chop, prosciutto fig flatbread, fish trio, kale or Caesar salad, short rib ravioli, & charcuterie and everything has been delicious, full of flavor, and of quality taste. We went here on a Saturday night. Had the place to ourselves. Was looking for a more populated place. The service was great but we were the only ones in the restaurant! The food was pretty good. I had the salmon, too much salt on the asparagus and beet ravioli. Syrah wine was good. This place was something different than our usual but once was enough. My husband had the pork loin which was ok. If you're looking for a place to take your kids for dinner where they won't bother others, this would be a good place if they can handle the adult cuisine. read more

We ate here for lunch. Our office rewarded us with the lunch to celebrate a lot of hours of hard work. We picked this based on the fact that it had a "named chef" attached to it. We arrived at noon...the place was completely void of people and workers. I was totally confused because we had a reservation. Finally a person appeared and I asked if this was Portico....I was told yes...hmmm but we stayed... Our server was super nice but you could tell they were new or our of their league. The prices on the menu were very very high for the area. So we expected the level of service to match. It did not. While the person was friendly...the service was extremely slow. I will blame that on the kitchen though. The orders were not right but we had waited so long we were afraid to ask for our meals to be redone correctly. This too is odd since we were the only people there at 1245pm...at that time 2 other couples walked in and sat down. All this time...we only saw the one server who took care of the entire space. No other person was seen at this point. It was just weird. Even though our food was cooked well done...and we had asked for all meats to be cooked medium rare...it was well seasoned. The fries I got...I was told would be $2 extra if I wanted the truffle oil and Parmesan cheese added. Later the bill indicated it was $4. LOL...but they were DELICIOUS. But that was it... We ordered the dessert and was disappointed that the fruit cooli was just thawed out blueberries. Also the menu was confusing. For lunch they said for $23 you got 4 shrimp...but the dinner menu says for $24 you get 8 shrimp...same dish title but different description. But in the end when the dish came out..there were 8 shrimp. I would not call them Jumbo prawns though...When we were done a different woman appeared in a suit. I assume a manager level position. She too was nice and cleared the placemats and took our bill so that we could leave. She also let us know parking was free and while I knew that already..I thought it was great she reminded us and told us how to use the pass to get out of the lot. I don't eat in hotel restaurants often so I am not sure if this is the norm. I didn't like the fact that we were alone during rush hour so long. And that we saw no one in the place for most of the time. I guess you can look at that 2 ways...we had a wonderful private lunch.
