The great thing about our outing to another broken egg started out with Yelp. I was able to put us on the waitlist before even getting to the restaurant. Saving us time. We were seated very quickly and that made me very happy. Since this was our first time we were suppose to get beignets as an appetizer. UnfortunatelyI had to ask our server for and it ended up coming out after our order had arrived. I ordered the Louisiana Scramble with the peach cobbler pancakes. Both were really good. I also got the strawberry & St Germaine mimosas. It was a little sweet but I needed it so I had 2. My husband had the chicken and waffle with a side of eggs. All and all the food was good but I think our server was stretched a little thin and it took her a long time to bring things to the table. Even if we asked a food runner for things like hot they never brought them back. The attention to detail wasn't present with the service. I hate to give this place such a low rating. When I first came to Atlanta, two years ago, this was one of my favorite breakfast spots. The grits tasted like little mini clouds, the bacon is amazing, the menu had what seemed to be a lot of options, but as of now, I can't say I think of this restaurant nearly as highly as I used to. The shrimp that comes with the shrimp and grits are literally like the little mini shrimps that you get in a cup of oodles and noodles. The eggs are disgusting and I'm pretty sure they don't have an option for shelled eggs, which is odd, considering that the name of the restaurant is another broken egg. What I once considered to be a lot of menu options has dwindled over the years as they are haven't added anything new, except for their seasonal menu changes. Their regular menu leaves a lot to be desired as a lot of dishes require an acquired taste. I would definitely suggest updating their menu, training their waitstaff on customer service and attentiveness, as well as going back to cooking food with love. Decided to find breakfast closer to the hotel this time in ATL and was pleasantly surprised that there was a Broken Egg nearby. I've been to the Flying Biscuit and I love their style and food. The 'Egg' is much like TFB minus the eccentric menu items or 'hip' factor/appeal. Best part about this place was no wait. I've seen other breakfast places in ATL on Saturdays and Sundays and they all have waits. This place is kind of tucked away by the wal-mart; it also may be new. So take advantage of it before everyone finds this place! The crab cakes with poached eggs was superb! We couldn't pass up a real Belgian waffle. It was like eating candied air with drops of heavenly sweetness on top. The staff was nice and the food came out in good time - it was pretty busy that day. Went for brunch and the wait was 45 minutes around 1pm. Sitting by the bar can get you past these long wait times. Actually not sure why there were any people even waiting since there were at least half a dozen tables open - I guess they can't seat anyone when the tables aren't cleaned and checks are still waiting to be collected. Then I looked around and saw employees eating and chatting by the kitchen and moving pretty slowly. Ordered the Crab Benedict which was supposedly their signature dish. Wish I had gotten the original Benedict or something else instead. The hollandaise sauce was all cream and splattered on top which masked the flavor of the whole dish. The crab was dry so maybe they wanted to cover that up. Dish came with some potatoes, nothing special either. I attempted to reserve for a large party, a few days in advance and was told by company representative to set up two separate reservations for a total of 14 people on the same day prior to arriving to restaurant via Yelp app which would add us to a waiting list. Upon walking in, I immediately greeted the hostess (young girl, long black hair), she sized up my family of 4 and only after did she give a lackluster greeting. We waited 35 minutes for a table, to be greeted by a much nicer and jubilant server. Unfortunately, that's where it ended. The food took 25 minutes to arrive, and it was cold and bland. The plate placement also looked a bit boring. Crab cake dish was okay, but didn't taste fresh. Waffles were hard and tasted store (frozen) bought. I was looking forward to brunch at this place and was definitely disappointed. They have a couple different dietary restriction menus (which I appreciate). I'm vegetarian and I'm always down for a modified menu! However my chileques came with chorizo instead of the substitute (asparagus). I unfortunately didn't notice until a few bites in. The server quickly, kindly, and respectfully changed this and I ordered the granola dish. However by the time I got my new dish I was ready to leave. The rest of the day I was ill. Today marks the third morning that I had spent eating breakfast at this restaurant. My Initial thoughts were, one it is always crowded and two the place in its self has a very comforting feel. The coffee always seems to impress with a nice kick of caffeine to jump start the day, and the food although not typical breakfast for the area is delightful. The menu seems to be inspired by several different cuisines throughout the US. I ordered the Southwestern skillet (pictured below) and it was great, however it did appear that the eggs spent some time under the hot light. My waiter's name was Devran he was the best I didn't have to ask for anything everything was on point from the napkins to coming bye and checking on us to see how everything was on our food and just how is our time. We came to this restaurant about a month and a half ago on a busy Sunday morning and were not crazy about the service or the cleanliness. Today, it was a drizzly Wednesday morning so, we decided to give it another try knowing it would not be as busy. We were in luck! The restaurant was not at all busy so we were thinking it would be quick. Boy-oh-boy were we wrong! It took 15 minutes AFTER we were seated for our server to even come over, greet us and take our drink orders! At this time, we went ahead and placed our food orders, too. It took 27 minutes AFTER we placed our food order before we finally flagged down our server and asked if we could just get our food to go because the food was still not out and my husband had to be at work and our toddler was now ready to go. It was at this time our server then brought our food out with the boxes on the side. WOW! Was our food just sitting back there the whole time?! We quickly scarfed down part of our food and boxed the rest to go. I asked our server if I could please get syrup to go for my waffle and a refill on my water that had been sitting empty for quite some time. The guy forgot all about my syrup and water and just disappeared. At this time, another server saw the whole thing, could see the annoyance on our faces and brought the syrup and water. This place is a disappointment and clearly needs improvement. We will not be back nor would we recommend this restaurant to anyone else! We came here on a Saturday morning and this location was packed! Although, it took us almost 20 minutes to be seated (and there was only 2 of us) and they seemed to may have been a bit understaffed for the wait staff, we still had a great time! The noise level is loud because everyone is a bit close quarters, but our service and food was still great! The server and kitchen were both very quick at the beginning, but the server may have been a little caught up with the rush near the end, because we didn't see him for another 30 minutes! The expansive menu can accomodate those with differing tastes going from beignets, grits, and parfaits to the eggs benedicts and omelettes. They were very creative with this menu. We enjoyed the smoked salmon benny, smoked salmon eggs benedict with hollandaise sauce, and the benedict oscar, which was a flat iron steak with sauteed garlic crabmeat with two poached eggs. I LOVE THIS PLACE! Anytime someone mentions brunch and they let me choose the place...Another Broken Egg it will be! The customer service is A1, thru Yelp or the their website you can get in the waitlist while you are on your way. They are only open for breakfast and brunch so they do close at 3pm so there is usually a wait. But the food is worth the wait and to die for! It's a Louisiana style restaurant so they have a Louisiana inspired menu that includes fresh seafood and biscuit BEIGNETS! Basically sweet biscuits with powdered sugar (mouthwatering)! My fav on the menu is the Lobster and Brie omelette and the crab cakes. They also have signature brunch cocktails for those that are over 21 of course!
