I'd say 3.5 stars. Could have been more if they would have went the extra mile and put a pep in their step. The server never asked if it was our first time so no free beignets were offered even though another table mentioned it and was offered some by same server. Server was nice but everyone there seemed to move at a snails pace as well as how long it took for food to come out. Had to ask for refills. Just an overall "blah" bland mood across the whole restaurant. At least the food was warm and correct. Biscuits and gravy were not the greatest but the cinnamon roll French toast was to die for! I'd go back and give it another try next time I'm down probably. If not for that cinnamon roll French toast would definitely not give them another shot though and try another breakfast spot next year. read more

We ate at Another Broken Egg just a few minutes ago. We had 2 crab cake eggs benedicts, 1 mardi gras omelets, and an order of shrimp and grits, and spent 80 bucks. DEFINITELY NOT WORTH 1 PENNY! The crab on benes was absolutely disgusting. It had a fishy taste and smelled sour. The crawfish on the omelet was the same. I had to spit it out. The only thing that was decent, was the shrimp n grits, and even that was just ok. No one at our table finished any of the food. Definitely a disappointment. You'd be better off eating at the McDonald's a few doors down. read more

We've been here a dozen times at least and just love this little breakfast spot. They frequently have specials so you can always look forward to trying something new if you are a regular here. The service is always superb. The tzatziki tots are currently on special and let me tell you they are my FAVORITE. The flavors in this dish are amazing. The city grits are a must try and usually we all order our own because no one wants to share them! The hey Lucy omelette and the chicken waffles are my other go tos. Ate breakfast around 930/10am on a Wednesday morning. It was busy but not packed (no wait). Took probably 45-60 mins to get breakfast for 4. Service was poor, no flatware, very few coffee refills. When food finally came it wasn't hot. Food itself was good but the poor service and wait time to receive food was not good. Not impressed. Wouldn't go back. We didn't complain b/c we are here on vacation, weren't in a hurry, and feeling more laid back than normal, but I probably would have complained otherwise. Cost was $50 for breakfast for 4 (2 adults, 2 kids), and really only ordered 3 meals b/c 4 year old ate off everyone else's plate. read more

AMAZING FOOD!! I had the Southwest Scramble with salsa & guacamole. Loved it! Right amount of spicy. Guacamole was perfect. Husband got chicken & waffles. It came with a honey chipotle sauce. Waffles perfectly cooked & the sauce was was the right amount of heat. Chicken on waffles was very good. My daughter had pancakes and we added chocolate chips. They put a bunch inside & put some on top. My daughter love it, especially with all the chocolate. Portions were big, including the pancakes. We took 1/2 home. We will be back! read more

First time eating here and our service was great! Our waitress name was Michelle! Even though they were busy she checked on us regularly and our food came out in good time. Your potatoes are the things dreams are made of (in both traditional and Mediterranean forms), your biscuit beignets were so delightful they prompted the table next to us to ask if they were really that good (I may or may not have been unintentionally reenacting the famous scene from "When Harry Met Sally"), your coffee was delish and always topped with a warmer, your omelettes were fluffy and your oatmeal as tasty as it was beautifully presented. On top of wonderful food, we also appreciated the amazing, attentive and thoughtful service and the great artwork on the walls. Overall, a top notch breakfast choice that would be as standout in a larger city as it is in a smaller town like Orange Beach. read more

I have been to several other locations with no issues. But sadly, this one was not a great experience. Perhaps they were just having an off day. It took 10 minutes before our server came to our table to take our drink order and he forgot my coffee. I had to ask another server for straws for our water. Then we waited another 40 minutes to get our food. When we did get our food, it was barely warm and our server didn't provide silverware so I had to go get that as well. They forgot to make my daughter's order so we had to wait another 10 minutes and my husband's order wasn't right but he didn't want to wait for them to fix it. The place didn't look overly crowded- there were empty tables so I can only assume they were short staffed. I can deal with waiting and even grabbing my own silverware but it's hard to get past a server that fails to communicate or notice that your order isn't correct. I saw him get mad at his tip from a another table but I can understand why. Waiting tables is a difficult job - my grandmother waited tables for a living but she knew how to work a table and made guests feel great about their dining experience. This place is a little newer than the one in Birmingham. It is nice and cozy. Had to wait for service. Very cold when we went in. Told them, they fixed it. The meal was great. The best Belgium waffles I ever ate. The sausage was my least favorite. I will be back and spread the word. read more

I was skeptical when my fiance's aunt said Another Broken Egg was one of the best places to get breakfast around Orange Beach and Gulf Shores. We visited one in Atlanta and were disappointed in the lack of flavor and easy at-home replication of the dishes we got. Based on our stellar experience at this location, I'm wondering if ABEC is a hit-or-miss chain. We came in for breakfast on our way to the beach for the afternoon and sat at the bar because the small dining room was packed. Our server came and greeted us promptly, but we had to wait and remind him of things we needed. He was not only working the bar, he also had to work the surrounding dining area. Clearly they were understaffed that day! We started with the beignets and a cup of coffee while we decided on our main courses. The beignets were good, but more doughy than traditional beignets that you'd get in New Orleans. The honey marmalade perfectly complimented them, too, without being too sweet. I ended up with the Southwest Scramble and really liked it. The potatoes were still the same sad, pre-made potatoes I had at the Atlanta location. Next time I'm going to upgrade to something else. The skillet itself was really good, though. Flavorful and tasted like they knew how to season food in this kitchen. And, it was fun making some breakfast tacos! Overall it was a huge dish and I didn't finish it all. J had the Hey Lucy! and also enjoyed his. Basically when the food hit the table, we stopped talking because we were so focused on our food. And we sent everything back almost, if not completely, empty. I may have to reconsider the locations in Atlanta and give it another shot. Overall, it's very corporate and regulated like other major chains, but the food was good. Maybe this will fall into the "consistent, comfort food" category. read more

Wow, the black bean Benedict is out of this world crazy good!!! Not a fan of poached eggs so had it with soft scrambled instead. The city grits (no bacon please!) were cheesy goodness. We have been to several other locations in Florida and this one is just as good with great service and quality food. We waited over an hour and five minutes for our food that was not even hot when we got it. There were 9 of us with 5 kid orders, so being that 5 were off the children's menu they should have been able to get 4 adult meals made for adults out quicker than 70 minutes. We live about an hour away and come to ABE frequently on weekends. This is our go to place when visiting the beach. I eat gluten free and appreciate their precautions. Their gluten friendly pancakes are the best that I have had anywhere. All things on the gluten friendly menu that I have tried are good. The staff is always friendly even when they are busy (which is pretty much every time I am there). The staff really hustles and the food is always warm and good. My whole family enjoys it there and we have tried several things off the menu with great results. If you avoid gluten go! It is hard to find good places especially if you don't eat seafood. read more

Something was wrong with the avocado in the avocado toast, the bread was soggy, scrambled eggs were runny, and in the eggs benedict, even the egg white was not done and runny.
