I'm glad we went despite our prejudgments because this place was great! They had such a huge variety of brunch classics - savory and sweet. And the portions were definitely enough for anyone. We ordered the bourbon street pancakes, country power bowl, and apple fritter french toast with a side of eggs and sausage. All were good, but special standouts were their homemade sausage and country power bowl! I did also order the vanilla cold brew - this wasn't my favorite because it was a little too sweet and artificial tasting, so I'll probably stick to the normal hot coffee next time. Another Broken Egg Cafe A cold winter'ish morning deserved a hot coffee from a nice place . Guess what ?! - we were in for a funny surprise- this cafe does Not serve gourmet coffee anymore. But they still have cold brew, hot brew, regular, spiked and non- spiked coffee - so we got the hot coffee with a couple half and half on the side. They do have vegetarian options though not vegan ( not sure why online it says they carry vegan options, unless, they are referring to coffee). They can make most items on the menu without meat. They used to have a queue, but being a cold morning it was a breeze to get in without having to wait. Service by Michael was especially appreciated when my partner got his many conditioned vegetarian omelet exactly the way he wanted - salt infused INTO the vegetables rather than just sprinkled on the top, besides, he had couple of veges added and taken out - and all was handled to the dot. I got the Belgian waffle. They gave the butter on the side instead of a scoop over the waffle, and that makes sense with so many of us going on diets or turning vegan. Waffle came with a side of - well, I chose fruit. The waffle was crispy and soft just the way I like it. Yummy. Service was fast too. Thus, food wise, we were very satisfied. Interior is tasteful. They are open as early as 7 am. A good place to stop by for a bite on any hurried weekday morning, or on a hectic weekend. We came in line at 930am for the Veterans Day special. Waited until 10:05am and someone posted a sign that said out of vet day special. We asked how about the vets who have been waiting in line, they said they would not substitute or provide certificates to eat at a later time. I can always appreciate having another breakfast option other than the classics IHOP or Cracker Barrel. & Hallelujah they have the Yelp waitlist feature available too, it's great being able to walk in with no wait. I've probably ate at this location 3 times and each time the service was great even though they were packed. That's a good sign. This time I visited, I wanted to try something new. I decided to give the Mardi Gras Omelette a try. It's filled with crawfish, shrimp, andouille sausage and red peppers then topped with tomatoes, green onions and a tomato hollandaise (which I kindly asked for on the side). I really wanted to love it, but it just didn't have enough flavor for me which I never would've guessed would be the problem considering all the goodness inside. Bland omelettes are sad, I needed more than just andouille and tomato flavor. The country potatoes could've used some seasoning too. Good thing I'm a ketchup girl or that wouldn't have worked for me. Ketchup can be a lifesaver when you need it. Who doesn't love and appreciate ketchup? To balance out my savory, I HAD to order the Bourbon Street Pancakes. Oowwee now that rum butter sauce goes crazy, with the bananas and pecans mmm too good, I can taste it now. No need for syrup. I typically ask for the sauce on the side but they accidentally brought it out with the sauce already drizzled but hey I wasn't mad. I think it worked out better than dipping it. This was my first time visiting this place. Now that I have move back to Pearland. I'll be trying out more things in the area. This restaurant is cute and cozy. The menu had a plethora of different Cajun twists breakfast items. There are so many different items on the menu that I want to try. Everyone here was extremely friendly. The service was absolutely amazing. The Crabcake Benedict was tasty. I'll be honest. Not the best I have ever had. But it wasn't bad at all. The location is easy to find. It's on that Smith Ranch road. But the restaurant faces 288. One thing I love about living in pearland is that parking is never an issue. Another great meal at Another Broken Egg Cafe. I showed up 30 min before closing and welcomed like I had shown up hours earlier. I ordered the Classic Bacon Burger. It was delicious and made as I asked. The delicious surprise was the pickled red onions on my burger. I didn't add any ketchup, as I usually do, to this burger. I didn't want to cover up any of the flavors. My server was Kien T. He was very friendly and attentive. Kept my drink full and even brought out a "to go cup" when it was closing time. I had indicated that I should have made my order "to go" and was told that it will not be a problem for me to stay until I was finished. The restaurant was very clean and the staff cleaned the tables soon after each customer's departure. I also enjoyed the music that was playing. I ordered his favorite the Hash brown Benny with grits and coffee. The eggs were soft and flooded the ham/ cheese/ hash brown croquetta when you cut into in (I was going to take a pic of that but it was sooo good ) . We came around noon on a Thursday. I was in the mood for breakfast. I love trying their seasonal options. This time I tried the shrimp & grits Benedict. I'm not sure what I was expecting however it was delicious. The grit cake was better than any English muffin could ever be! I do wish I had a little more of the bearnaise sauce on top. The lemon blueberry mimosa may be popular but it wasn't for me. This mimosa gives more of a medicine/syrup taste. I will stick with the Strawberry St.Germain. I promise it's the best! My friend stuck to the beignets with the traditional eggs and bacon. (Not pictured) She enjoyed her food. Now to the service. It wasn't a long wait for the food. The hostess was warm and friendly. For starters, they had a crowd and long line awaiting upon entrance, even when I am just waiting for said order that was to be ready at 11am that I did not retrieve until 11:20 am , all because no one was available long enough to hand me my order that they had sitting on the back bar counter for twenty plus minutes. The picture is of a classic breakfast- eggs supposed to be with cheese, bacon, and a burnt english muffin as you can see. I didn't even post the picture of the dry pancakes of the Mardi Gras Omelette that was covered in dried out cheese . Everything was cold.
