Horrible every time I come here. I avoid going during the weekend due to the long wait (1.5 hours - 2 hours) because there are no small tables, so 2 people will be seated at a table that fits 6. I went during the weekday, but there is no difference in their service. I waited 45 minutes for my food. I have been here at least 10 times, and I have never found them to be quick with getting you the food, and it is usually cold by the time you get it. The last time I was here, both orders were incorrectly made, so we had to wait again to get it corrected, while half our meal was sitting out getting colder. Service is horrible. I've been there a few times and today was really bad. The food is great though. We ended up walking out after not getting our food for over an hour. The server never even came back. We tried to pay for the coffee (one cup, never had anyone come by to refill) but no one came to the counter. The food was really good I recommend the Strawberry Pound Cake French Toast! The service was absolutely terrible my two friends and I waited over an hour for our food. Three stars for the food because it was good. The service on the other hand was not. Our server, Phoebe, greeted us in an appropriate time & got our waters like we asked but immediately started asking about ordering alcoholic drinks & rushing us to order food. Since we have never been to this place it was going to take us more than 3 minutes to look over all the drinks & food items. We had to tell her 4 or 5 times that we needed more time within a 10 minute period before we were left alone to browse the menu. With every drink being close to $10, it took us a minute to decide whether it was even worth it to stay & order food. We decided to order a regular Bloody Mary & split it & after being approached for a 5th time, finally ordered our food. I got the southwest scrambler with potatoes & a side of biscuits & gravy while my girlfriend got the eggs benedict. Everything came out looking & tasting great but we became annoyed once again when our server started trying to pre bus our table while plates still had food on them & with over half of a bloody mary to finish. Since we felt so rushed throughout our meal we just asked for to-go boxes & the check. Our server dropped the check off & our boxes & quickly ran the card & proceeded to try & grab more things that were on the table that were still being used or eaten off of. We had to tell her that we were still working on our food twice before she stopped trying to take everything off of the table. I am a server at a restaurant so I understand the thought process & the act of prebussing, however, it was causing us to feel rushed & increasingly annoyed. My girlfriend had not had her water filled the entire time, but our server seemed to be more concerned with cleaning up a table that was still in use rather than taking care of the people sitting at it. I tried to get past all the small things but was again frustrated when the server came & grabbed the signed check off of the table with us still sitting there, so it was very clear to us that we were being rushed off despite the fact that the server still had another table that was sitting down. Don't understand some of the reviews here. This is a decent place with high quality food, great atmosphere.

I will start with WOW. This place is unbelievable, a full Gluten-free menu along with entry of vegetarian options. I am both gluten-free and vegetarian so places like this are hard to find. The breakfast .une gave me 4 different choice for gluten-free pancakes. I had the berry pancakes. To top it off it came with REAL maple syrup. My son is not gluten-free or vegetarian he tried chicken sausage for the first time and liked it. His French toast serving was so large he could not finish it. The eggs were cooked to perfection. To top it off the view of the river when dining outside is so relaxing. To top it all off the place was spotless. To bad I was just passing through. If I could give this establishment more than 5 stars I would. read more

This place has gone extremely down hill over the years and just keeps getting worse; both their food and customer service. I placed an order to go with one of my friends and and the woman on the phone said 15-20 min. When my friend and I got there our names and orders were sitting on the hostess stand. After another 20 minutes went by, I asked for the manager and she got another worker who lied and said she was the manger. Finally, once I spoke to the real manager he started telling me it "wasn't his problem" and that I was causing "ruckus" in his restaurant. After looking at the time I called in my order (11:22) it took me over an hour to get my food and did not get back to my house till 12:50. I love this restaurant and I have eaten here multiple times when I am in town! But... this past visit the hostess was EXTREMELY rude. She ignored me and other customers as well. She did not even greet customers, she just said "how many." She also told the other hostess to quit serving other people in front of other customers. I did not catch her name unfortunately. But I expressed the concern to our sweet waitress who mentioned that they have gotten other complaints about the same hostess. I know the restaurant is short on staff and they have to keep her so she can basically act as rude as she wants. So unfortunate, because the food is great and the waitresses are so hard working and kind. If I was not a regular here my impression of the restaurant would be awful and I would probably never visit again just from the disrespect the hostess displayed. read more

Even though the pricing is on the higher side here I really feel like I'm getting my money's worth! I ordered an omelette, the bananas fosters pancake, mixed berries pancake with a side of country potatoes and an english muffin, and I've also had their chicken & biscuit sandwich. Hard to understand a waiting line with 3-4 tables open for the time we dined here this morning. Food was as good as we hoped for, service was good, however it was slow and not the waitress's fault. I got a sense that the empty tables and the long wait would have been worse if the tables were full because the kitchen staff was unable to keep up with demand. I used to go to the original all the time in Mandeville, La with my grandparents. I love that they were able to make it up to Tuscaloosa and have such a beautiful location. I do not like writing negative reviews, but after our last visit it was unavoidable. When we arrived we were told it was a 20-30 minute wait for the patio. 53 minutes passed before we were taken to a table. The table had not been cleaned yet, so we stood there waiting longer. After we were seated our waitress did not know she had our table, so it was several more minutes before we could even put in drink orders. We had waited so long at this point that we all ordered lunch instead of brunch. Two of the four silverware sets at our table were dirty. When replacements were brought out, the knife in one set looked like it had just been used as one side was coated in wet white food. Three out of six sets were dirty! The manager brought out a plastic set and apologized. The food was ok. When the check was brought out it was not even for our table as it was $125, and we had only ordered four waters and four salads! The entire experience was very disappointing, especially since my husband and I had just gotten married the previous evening. read more

3 Strikes... you're out!! I have gone to this location several times. However the three times have been unpleasant. I always order my eggs over/medium well. The came t each time fried hard and burnt. Each time I told the waitress and they recooked them. Although not right and still too done but improved, with exception of today. I told the waitress and on this particular day with this particular waitress, she developed an attitude and told me that was the way I ordered them. I explained that I didn't. She jerked my plate up and to the kitchen she goes. I waited about 15 minutes and she returned another pair if eggs that was as undesirable as the last. I told her that this is not what I wanted and told her to just leave them. I ate the remainder of my meal which included burnt bacon. The only thing I got that was good was the grits and a glass of water. And speaking of coffee, I'm not sure what brand it is, but it's terrible. Other than the coffee, I've always enjoyed my meal.
