Maaaan it is hot outside!!! So I needed a cold deli sub and this is the spot!! Hidden gem in downtown Rosenberg- which actually is a treasure trove of good spots. This sub was soooo delicious! I don't know what kind of sauce they put in that sandwich but oh my goodness it accented my ham and cheese sub perfectly. My only complaint was that I got only a small amount of fries... I thought it would be more. Great crispy seasoned fries! Service is super quick as well and the owners are sweet. You have to stop in and try this New York style deli. Holy guacamole! I didnt know that they closed the other location and reopened in Old Rosenberg. Same warm and friendly smile that I was originally greeted with five years ago. I love the new setup. I prefer ordering from small businesses than popular chains. I cant wait to order pizza from here next time. read more

We have dined here a few times.. the food is five stars.. we have had the Mexican sub, hamburgers and chicken salad sandwiches.. but recently we ordered the pizza and wings. Wow. This is a hidden gem for subs! One of the best Reuben sandwiches I've had. I typically add onion & tomato to my Rueben & they have a Joey's Ruben that already comes with that plus avocado. The corned beef meat is so tender & full of flavor and the added veggies & sauce just set this sandwich off I loved my sandwich so much I came back the next week to get another Ruben & also got the Italian sub. This sandwich was also incredibly delicious! One of the meats was a little greasy/juicy so the sandwich drips but it is so, so good! Service is great. The lady taking our order was super friendly. My family and I tried Joey's for the first time yesterday and it's absolutely delicious. We got the cheese pizza and Philly cheesesteak with fries. The cheesesteak is a must try. It's very flavorful and savory. The onions and peppers are the exact texture you want in a cheesesteak. The fries are breaded and delicious! The cheese pizza was amazing. We even had left overs and it's just as good in the oven the next day as it was fresh. The family who works there is very nice and gave great customer service. The restaurant is clean and if you wanted to dine in, there are plenty of tables. We will definitely be back and can't wait to try more of their menu!! read more

Amazing food, customer service, and overall quality. Rola was absolutely phenomenal, such a sweet person and gave us great recommendations. The food was so delicious, we got the cheese pizza that was so flavorful and had a great crust for our kiddo. We both decided to get the Mexican Philly cheesesteak with fries and wow it was so good! Great flavor, great spice! The portion sizes were perfect, but we couldn't even finish our sandwiches. The inside was nice and authentic with plenty of seating. Our first visit (saw the 5 stars on yelp and had to give it a try) we tried a variety of things. We had cheese pizza , garlic knots, a pastrami on rye and a chicken cutlet sub. All items were incredible. Breads and doughs were flavorful, my young child ATE the pizza crusts which was shocking but a testament to how chewy good the pizza was. The sandwiches were enormous and packed with meat and cold crisp veggies. The chicken cutlet sub could Easily feed 2 people Fries were extra crispy but had to take a backseat so i could fit in more sandwich and some of the kids pizza. Staff if SUPER friendly and helpful, restaurant is really clean and tidy. We'll be back and will prob work our way thru the menu read more

Very good food and service. We got a pizza with garlic knots and a chopped cheese sandwich with french fries and a Mexican cheese steak sandwich with french fries all the food was delicious. Very tasty and freshly cooked. We definitely enjoyed the food and we will be back. All the reviews are accurate and you can see why this place has such good reviews. read more

Stopped by for a quick lunch while working in the area. It's an older establishment on the corner of the building. The owner and staff were very kind. I ordered an Italian sub and my husband ordered a hamburger, both with fries. The fries were fantastic. While I did not enjoy my sub, the hamburger was amazing. read more

Stopped here for lunch and was pleased with the size, quality, and especially the taste of the sandwich. I had a turkey sandwich with Swiss cheese instead of the American cheese. The sub was huge and a real bargain for the price. The ladies at the counter were friendly and polite and made me feel welcome as soon as I walked in the door. The restaurant itself is very simple, but clean, and there was plenty of seating. I'm definitely going back, as this is ten times better than a certain sandwich chain. read more

There is halal chicken nuggets and beef if you ask. Fresh pizza. The nuggets remind me of McDonald's. onion rings are some of the best I've had. They use the nuggets on the pizza if you ask for halal chicken pizza. Family is from New York so they know good pizza and sandwiches. We have eaten here twice and take-out quite a bit. It's the best pizza ever. You can taste the difference between theirs and a chain pizzeria. Pizza is think and lots of flavor. Located right next door to the post office in Rosenberg. We always support local business prior to going to a chain. We ordered 4 large pizza's and they gave us garlic knots and free 2 liter. We took them for a birthday party. Everyone there wanted to know where did it come from. I hope they have gone to eat there. It's a great place a hidden gem. 11/13/2023- They're back open! Service and food is as great as ever. They're in a different part of Rosenberg, but plenty of parking and room to sit. We ordered wings, spaghetti, and a Philly cheese steak. The wings were garlic parm and were fall-off-the-bone tender. Really delicious. Spaghetti was good as always, with the garlic bread on the side as an added bonus. The sandwich was delicious. :) We are so happy to see them back. :) read more

Papa Don't Preach, but I'm about to preach so here goes. This is a cautionary tale. After waiting three years to try this deli I finally tried it a few months ago and it was wonderful. Five stars and I couldn't wait to try everything on the menu. Extremely tasty and one of the best delis in Texas. Houston doesn't even have good delis so this was a real find. Then about a month after I tried it - about a week before I wrote this - it closed down. I'm heartbroken. I hope it comes back, but all the signs say that it is permanently closed. So let this be a warning to you. Try everything as soon as you can. Enjoy it as much as you can. Because you never know when it will be gone. read more

I've been auditioning cheesesteak sandwiches for the past month and Papa Joe served up the best so far. My companion had the chicken parm sandwich and said it's the closest she's had to a real NYC Chicken Parm. Everything is made on primes and is fresh. Oh, the French fries are excellent. I don't know why but the quality of French fries at many restaurants has declined over the last couple of years. The service was warm and friendly. It reflects the mom & pop nature of the shop. I could easily become a regular if it was closer. The ambiance is nice, clean, functional, but a bit spartan. Overall eating there was worth the 30 minute drive. I'm certain I'll be returning to try their Ruben. read more

We happened to find this place while we were out and about at the Christmas festival. The staff were very welcoming. My only complaint is the bathroom was out of order. I got the papa joes Rueben. I would've asked for an additional roll but they charge you for them . It seems that Joe wasn't a waiter , maybe he was filling in because he just wasn't enthused about anything . I heard great things about this place and the chicken fried steaks .... I might try this place again another time , perhaps when they're busier .

A Truly Special Local Gem I am absolutely in awe of Joey's New York Deli in Rosenberg, Texas! From the moment you walk in, you can truly feel the love and passion that goes into everything they make. The Reuben sandwiches are absolutely incredible--seriously, some of the best I've ever had! And don't even get me started on the cheesecake... absolutely DELICIOUS! What makes this place even more special is the husband-and-wife owners. They are genuinely some of the sweetest people, and you can tell they put their heart and soul into every meal they prepare. Their kindness, dedication, and love for what they do truly shine through. I never get tired of coming here, and it's always a pleasure to support such a wonderful local business. I am compelled to express my disappointment, as my recent dining experience fell short of expectations. Although the presentation of the dishes was satisfactory, the flavors were inconsistent. I ordered the Chicken Parm Sandwich with sweet potato fries, but the fries were undercooked and soggy. The sandwich was adequate, but the bread was soggy due to the bland marinara sauce. Additionally, the Italian sub ordered for my wife had soggy bread, and one of the ingredients had an unpleasantly sour taste. The spaghetti with meatballs for the children was also disappointing, as the sauce lacked depth and flavor, suggesting a lack of attention to culinary detail. Considering the premium prices, I expected higher quality food and ingredients. While I would like to give them another opportunity, spending over $70 has made me hesitant to do so. read more
