I've been going to Dr. Wilson for approximately 15 years. My recent appointment was rather frustrating. I didn't get to see Dr. Wilson (even though I had an appointment). Instead, they only took XRays. They didn't even clean my teeth during the visit. They said it would cost me around $1,500 out of pocket and another $1,500 from my health insurance coverage. As a new patient I wasn't impressed. I couldn't understand why they took so many x-rays on my teeth. Then they didn't even clean my teeth. Then they tried to sell me something I was never interested in. Then they tried to charge me triple the amount that everyone else would charge for just a deep cleaning. Dr Wilson and his staff always treat me with Respect, Kindness and Compassion. They are very good at what they do. I am lucky to only need basic care at this time but I have confidence that if I have a dental emergency they will be the only place I call. I actually like going to the dentist office. WARNING: REVIEW YOUR DENTAL INSURANCE PAYOUT STATEMENTS My last and FINAL appointment at Anthem Dental was 5/23/23. After finally having a chance to review my dental coverage payout statement, I found that I was overcharged. Today (8/29/2023), I placed a call to Anthem Dental. I had the misfortune of speaking to Heidi. She reviewed my account and acknowledged I was owed monies. One would think that at the very least an apology for the "oversight" would be in order. Not from Heidi.... She asked for my credit card number to issue a refund. Her arrogant tone clearly communicated that I was taking up her precious time.... Pathetic... BTW: I have previously been overcharged by other providers. The difference is that I was immediately refunded before I even had a chance to review my insurance payout statement. read more

I tried to schedule a teeth cleaning appointment and was told by the receptionist, Heidi, that they were booked up and they would call if there's a cancelation. At any other business, they would just schedule you at a specific date and call you if an earlier date becomes available. Not here. They left it open, and who knows when they'll call you back. Later in the day, I called back to see how far back they're booked and was told until May. That's ridiculous. It's only October. Back in February, I canceled my scheduled appointment because I was having surgery and my doctor told me I could not have dental work done before the surgery and I would have to wait 6 months before I could have any dental work. Heidi was very rude when I canceled my appointment back then and didn't even offer to reschedule me. Dr. Wilson is great, but his front office staff needs training in patient relations. It started out ok with them until one day I questioned a charge. The office manager got involved, it was not resolved to my satisfaction but I chose to get over it. Well, ever since that experience I notice when I arrive for my cleanings, there are whispers and attitude from everyone there, except the blonde, can't remember her name I think it's Heidi, she's the only one friendly to me. The first time, I thought it was my imagination, but the same thing next time. So after over year of this from the front staff, and a really bad, rough cleaning that left my gums sore, it almost seemed deliberate. When chatting with the Dentist about Veneers one day, I remembered I didn't get my dental kit, the hygienist walked up too me with attitude handed it to me, without a word or smile or acknowledgement and turned and walked away. Even the dentist eyebrows raised when she did this. The hygienist was nice at first, but this time she hardly spoke to me and didn't respond when I said it hurt. So, I have moved on, who needs all this 'attitude' from staffers? I sure don't! Now that I decided I want veneers, they will miss out on my 25K business. I don't reward bad behavior. Oh, and when they called to confirm my cleaning, I told her I was cancelling and I didn't plan to come back. No one asked any questions. I love Dr. Wilson and staff. He has been my dentist here in Sun City Anthem for the pat 6 or more years. Very convenient right on the corner of Eastern and Sun City Anthem Drive. But the best part is that the thorough cleaning 3 times per year accompanied by Dr. Wilson's exams revealed that I have a crack in my front tooth that was about to give way. So, Just in time for porcelain veneers. I love them so much. Now, 2 years later, Dr. Wilson is going to do the bottom teeth so that they are perfect too and more importantly he will fix my alignment so that the pain in my jaw goes away.
